"We would not return to this hotel and there are several reasons. First being, the poor layout of the hotel. We opted for the adults only resort. It was very far from the beach and there were children everywhere. There is no one that regulates where children can and cannot be. The beach is nice but it is not as close as we would of liked. Second, the food. The food is mediocre. The buffets have a fair amount of variety but none of it was all that great. Another problem was that they limited the number of reservations that you could make, but even at the reserve restaurants the food was not spectacular. The best meal that we had while we were there at the resort was the Brazilian restaurant. The last problem was the resorts lack of air conditioning. Expect to be hot pretty much the entire time you are not in your room. Summer months are brutal. If were in the cooler months it wouldnt be all that bad. Overall we had a good time, but there were a lot of things that we did not like about the resort. The staff was great though, they were very friendly and helpful. Hopefully this helps in making a resort choice."

"This resort fell below our expectations. The food was not good; it was a time share. If you were not a timeshare member with a black band, then you were obviously limited in the resort to certain areas and were treated differently. You could not get service at the beach. The adults only complex was the furthest from the beach. The so-called sports bar had same channels we had in rooms. Our room was infested with ants. The hotel staff tricked us into a timeshare sales pitch. The resort is not secluded so you had gobs and gobs of people. Unfortunately, the only positive thing I have to say about this resort is that it was close to Playa del Carmen and within a beautiful complex."

"This was our first trip to an all inclusive resort. Everything was great! The service is wonderful! I will say that there aren't waiters/waitresses running around the beach, but with all the food you eat, you could use the short walk from time to time! The buffet food was rather good. The restaurant food was terrific! Everywhere we went it was clean and the staff was always friendly! For our first visit and for the price, I was impressed! We would definitely stay here again."

"I stayed in the middle of March. When I first arrived to the hotel. the receptioniist said that they were all out of king size beds and they gave me and my husband two queen size beds. They told us if we wanted to change froms it would take two days. We did not mind just as long as the rooms were clean. We we actually went to the rrom, the tv and telephone did not work. The door did not lock. The room smelled really musty. I spent less than five minutes in that rrom. when I returned to the front desk, i spoke with another lady who said that she would change the room the next day. The next day we had to be out of the room by 10am. Between the hours of 10am-3pm we had no room and no access to our things. We finally get to our new room and the key does not work. Supposedly the battery was out. We spent two days fighting with them before we could actually start our vacation. It was nearly impossible to get a reservation at the resort. We had to just show up one night and they actually let us in. We had a bad start to our vaction but after all the little mishaps we actaully had a nice time. Another disappointment was I discovered on several occasions that when they came to clean our room the sheets would be dirty. Onetime I actually saw blood on the sheets.....ewwww. The premises outside of the hotel rooms are nice and there are tons to do, but will never come here again!!!!!!"

"Oh My God! We fell in love with this Resort right from the start. We were greeted with wine & a fine fellow from Royal Elite Club who introducted us to the Royal Elite Select Club, & we joined. I can't say enough about the Resort, The Club, the people who run it, all of the workers, servers, entertainers.......you name them - they're all wonderful, amicable, resourceful, helpful and very accomodating. We even met the Owner, or General Manager who was also extremely pleasant and made us feel very welcome.The Food is fantastic in the entire Resort. I cannot for the life of me understand anyone that complains about the food. It's all excellent and very nicely presented. There is so much variety to choose from - how can one not possibly find something that they really like. We loved all of it. All of the A La Carte Restaurants are just out of this world. The Grand Buffet food is fantastic & the service and servers could not be any more accomodating than what they are.......they're all fantastically lovely people. The Beach is smashingly beautiful & the food & drink servers there are also very timely and courteous. Anyone who complains don't really DESERVE to be holidaying in such a nice place. Perhaps they should stay home & just go camping overnight at a nearby lake close to their home, and let the rest of us enjoy the nicer holiday. We were there for 3 weeks on our 1st trip, which was from mid April to nearly mid May, 2010. We loved it so much that we decided to go back last year for 2 weeks at end of Sept to mid October, 2011, and we are now looking into returning once again either in Oct. of this year (2012), or possibly end of Feb. into March 2013. I can't wait.........I'm getting excited just talking about it & planning it. Not to mention the Town of Playa Del Carmen which is only a short walk away is a lovely, lovely place to see as well. I have recommended this Resort to all of my friends and relatives, who have also been there as well now, and they just love it as much as we do. As I mentioned, our next trip will be sometime this year or early next year and we shall be meeting some of our relatives from England there at the same time. It will be a SUPER FANTASTIC HOLIDAY FOR ALL. I cannot think of a better place for a really GREAT Holiday. Thank You for having such a WONDERFUL place to go to. We Love All Of You, and can't wait to see you once again. HOLA Everyone!!!"

"2-22-12, We just returned from 6 days at Sandos Riviera (adults only) with another couple who were there with us for a second time and another couple who were there for their first time. Weather was fantastic, staff was great, location is wonderful as it is right next to Playa del Carmine and there is plenty of good entertainment at night. The plaza is great at night if you want to sit back, listen to music and have a drink. We love everything about Sandos but can not get by the quality of the food, it is horrible, the 'specialty' restaurants were worse than the buffets. Also; don't forget to bring a hair dryer with you because the one the hotel supplies will not get the job done. This is a wonderfull resort but something needs to be done about the food.
Don't know if I will be returning"

"We took a chance and went here instead of our timeshare in Cancun. There were 20 of us all together from all over the country. The staff at check in were so nice to put us all within walking distance of one another. The rooms were lovely and food excellent . We met at night at the bar and courtyard entertainment area, it was so nice. The staff is right on top of what you need. The beach was clean and plenty of chairs, as was the pool. We are all going back there again this year, now there will be 8 more than last year, or maybe more."
