"Just got back from a week at the princess sunset resort. My 11 year old daughter and I went for her spring break. It was gorgeous. Resort is super clean and beautiful grounds. Staff on grounds (restaurants/ bars/ pools/ shuttle/ housekeeping) super friendly. We booked when there was a special for platinum suites. It was only about $100.00 extra each and we'll worth. There was a restaurant attached to the suites with buffet or ala carte breakfast and lunch. Easily accessible from pool also. Platinum has its own lobby with a bar, private pool and a concierge service. All the concierges were very helpful and spoke several languages. They made our dinner reservations and answered all of our questions this made the hotel not feel so overwhelming and big. The size of the hotel was nice though because there were so many food, bar and entertainments options. Also, there is a shuttle that goes from the platinum suites to main area that runs about every 5-10 minutes. Our room was located with the beach on one side and a restaurant/ bar/pool on the other side. My ONLY suggestion would be to have more variety at the buffets because we are eating there approximately 10x during our stay and add fresh brewed ice tea to the resort's beverage choices. I am super funny about where I stay and this place was beautiful! Housekeeping was by two or three times a day cleaning and offering fresh towels. People do need to understand the nature of Mexico's climate. Because of this, there will rarely be carpet in any hotels and there will be a muggy smell. This is a tropical paradise and that comes with the location. I will definitely be back to this resort. We had a relaxing and wonderful time. "

"when we first got there they didn't tell us that there was 2 lobbies and that they dropped us off at the wrong lobby. That was rather confusing considering everybody at the front desk pretty much ignored us. when we finally got someone's attention and finally got checked in we got to our room to find our balcony overlooking a construction zone. As you can imagine by this time we're very annoyed. However, they did give us a new room the next day with a much better view and things turned out great for the rest of the week. The service was excellent. The restaurants we're good. we liked the la fondue best. we read reviews about the vendors on the beach being an annoyance. This turned out to be false information as there was plenty of room on the beach to avoid the vendors. I thought it was very quaint and convenient to be able to shop with these local vendors rather than having to go outside the hotel for shopping. there is an area on the beach called the chill out bar where the beach chairs are padded and they have private waiter service. I highly recommend you spend the $13 to go try it out because the added fee deters most people from going there, which makes you feel like you're in an exclusive area. I recommend you go down there early in the day by 7 and score one of the cabanas.nthe grounds, pools and beach were impeccably maintained. you can find something wrong with just about any hotel but we found this place to be pretty good."

"First time to Mexico... first time to do an all-inclusive. The adult only beach felt secluded and was very nice. The resort is huge, plenty of room for everyone. The food was not the best, but I didn't go there for the food. It was a very good experience, look forward to going back soon."

"I stayed here in 2011 for my honeymoon and I back this year with Family (My Husband, my Mom, Grandma, Sister and her friend).nI love this resort.nWe stayed in the Platinum suites this time around and Laguna back in 2011. Personally I liked the Laguna better but the Platinum was really nice too.nnWhen we arrived check in was quick and enjoyable. The staff gave the whole family champagne and joked around with us. At the time of booking there was no option to book a ocean view Platinum suite so I asked about getting one. They gave us a free upgrade for what would have been an extra $50 a night.nnThe food was great for resort food. I see reviews knocking the food but I've been to many resorts over the Caribbean and this resort has by far the best. Buffet food is buffet food which always had a great selection and the Al La Cartes were great. Mamma Mia was the group favorite. Yummy salad and Lasagna. The Beach grill was awesome.nnThe grounds and rooms are beautiful and well up kept. This resort is huge with a lot of walking. I liked that because on vacation you lay around more, eat more and drink more than everyday life so it helped balance that out.nnThe beach is gorgeous and clean. There are vendors but just in one area. There are plenty of beach space with loungers without vendors.nnWe will be back in the future. "

"My Wife had been bothering me about wanting to go to 'Playa Del Carmen'. So I finally strapped down and made it happen. The price was decent and the Grand Sunset Princess just looked right. I couldn't of been more right. nWe stayed a week before Christmas. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not a bit cold. The Resort is beyond beautiful. Seems like everywhere you go you are beside a pool. The statues along the walkways are one the many memorable features at this Resort. The food was decent. The Buffets are open late and that made it convenient as we often lost track of time. I tried most of the restaurants and they were great. To get to eat at any particular restaurant, you have to book it at least 2 or 3 days out. They fill up quick. The Hacienda restaurant was my favorite. The Pools were so awesome and clean. We had a swim up room that was just steps away from one of the bars. We didn't even have to go to the bar as a lady would come around and take our drink orders. After a day, she already knew what we were drinking. The staff were genuinely nice people. Anytime of the day and anywhere we were going we were greeted. Our room was made daily, towels were always stocked, and mini fridge consistently full. The nighttime entertainment was grand. Live bands that were talented and played great music. Anywhere you were on the Resort, you can hear the ocean and it was only a short walk away. Iguanas, Coaties, and even cats roam the Resort but never invaded anyone's space. It was remarkable how clean this resort is kept. nWe really enjoyed the Grand Sunset Princess All Suites-All-Inclusive Resort and are already planning to return to the same one sometime in the next year!
