"I have so much to say I don't know where to start. I was so afraid to go to Mexico because what I see on T.V. Nothing is going on!!! It's a tourist town and no worries about your safety. There is a lot of things nobody advised us of. nMake sure as soon as you get your room key make sure to make your reservations for the individual restaurants. We had no clue how important that would be. You will get tired of the buffet like everyone is saying. The food is alright, my friends hated it. The 2nd day we were there the concierge booked us with 2 reservations so we trusted the concierges choice. Wrong idea, the first place was Miso which says tepanyaki/sushi/oriental. So we get there and one restaurant has 3 different sections so we were booked for sushi only and we didn't know you had to have a separate reservation for the hibachi table and the oriental food. We were so disappointed and left there and went straight to the buffet. Of course we try to go back to the concierge to book for the rest of the week and everyone is booked up. nMake sure if you're going to get the massage at the spa within being there the first 48 hours you get half off. You can't pay up front for the massage they bill it to your room. When you check out you can't pay with cash,. nI paid extra for the platinum suites room which is worth it. I loved my room!nThe room is toward the back of the resort closer to the beach. It's true there is a lot of walking. Another friend had the Villa and I was glad I was closer to the beach. nBring bug spray because the mosquitos ate my legs up. Bring water shoes because the ground was very hot and in sandels it was hard to walk in the sand and my friends were mad and complaining because they didn't have any. I suggest if you have an IPOD or IPAD and speakers bring it. The t.v. has all Spanish channels and no English radio, I think it was one channel with captions. It's true that the pools and beach shut down at 8pm so I was bored a couple of nights. They have shows at night with music and dancers which was nicenThere was a club one night which I stayed for an hour tops and was ready to go. nThis resort is more for family's and couples so if I come back I'm bringing my family.nThey had more activities going on during the day which I had no clue until I started to read this sign the day before I was leaving. I wish someone had told us about the daily activities before which were bingo, water games, water exercise and some other things. nI really wanted to go snorkeling so we decided to take the Cozumel trip. You take a ferry over and then a boat ride out to snorkel. If you have your own snorkel mask and mouth piece I suggest you bring it. Bring your underwater camera, :( nBy the time we got back for the shopping we only had 20 minutes left before the ferry was to leave. Was disappointed because we really wanted to shop. They have food at the beach and drinks. So what I paid to come to the resort was worth it. nThe Princess Resort has a lot of people and low cost. If you want less crowded there was other resorts close by which you would pay more for. nThis should have been a family trip and not a girls trip. nI'm already starting to plan my next trip. Hope all the information helps. n"

"Very great experience , food at the buffet restaurants could be better, the special restaurants were excellent you just have to make reservations upon arrival. Excellent customer service and resolution to problems. I will definitely be back with some friends."

"This was my first time out of the country. I went there because I was standing in a wedding there. Everything was amazing!!! The food was incredible. I loved everything about this resort. There was a lot of walking, but the grounds are beautiful so it isn't that bad. "

"This was our first trip to Mexico, and our first all-inclusive. I wanted to do a review because I know I read a ton of the reviews in making the decision to stay at the Grand Sunset Princess. I want to hopefully help someone trying to wade thru all the comments like I was (and probably going back and forth because of the reviews being all over the map!) This was an AMAZING resort and I can't wait to go back. There may be nicer resorts out there, but I would find that hard to believe, for the price we paid. We did stay in the platinum suites, which is the way to go, especially if you don't want to see or hear many kids. The resort is beautiful, elegant and HUGE. There is a lot of walking involved so that is something to consider - I thought it a plus, as it helped burn off some of the excellent food/drinks. The buffets are fantastic - one night it was shrimp and lobster cooked fresh on the grill, one night it was international, etc. Anyone complaining about the buffets - if you eat ANYWHERE 10x in 1 week you might get tired of it, but it isn't from lack of selection. The staff were so amazing - friendly, helpful, and never any lack of people around to answer any questions or help in any way possible. The platinum suites have a concierge who was wonderful - he had already booked a couple of reservations for us at the a la carte restaurants when we got there (Las Olas was the BEST, by the way). People complaining about lack of getting reservations may have been there at a busier time than us, but we had zero problems. The pools were beautiful and you have your selection if you are in platinum - you can stay at the small private ones by the platinum suites, or make your way down to the big open ones where they have all the party types with games, etc. The beach was fantastic, and if you don't want to get out of the chair to go to the bar, they come to you! The suite itself was beautiful, we did not have a swim up but we loved our accommodations. The bathroom is gorgeous with a huge Jacuzzi tub, huge walk in shower, and separate little room for the toilet. I can not say enough great things about this place....if you are hesitating (like I was) DON'T. We can't wait to go back next year for longer!! Now here are some of the extremely minor things I noticed - hardly worth mentioning but I want to give full disclosure. 1. The beds are a little hard - might be a personal preference. We asked for and got extra pillows and made it work. 2. The road coming off the main road heading to the Princess is a little disconcerting - there is a sketchy section with grafitti and stuff, so I was totally freaked when we started down that, but don't worry. You make a right and it's amazing. 3. There are 2 separate lobbies, for the Sunset side and the Riviera (platinum) side so know which side you are on - we got dropped off at the wrong one and there was some confusion at first, but we got it straightened out. Save the hassle and take extra time for the pool! 4. The beach is a little seaweedy and rocky until you get out a little bit - it's nature. It happens. I'm only mentioning it because water shoes might be a great thing to throw in your bag. One other piece of advice: Book the transportation from the airport thru Best Day Travel. When you get off the plane KEEP WALKING TO THE OUTSIDE of the terminal no matter who is yelling 'BEST DAY' at you. These are the time share people and we totally got roped in and wasted time trying to get away. The BD people are outside, not inside, no matter what they are yelling at you. My other advice is to wait and book any excursions when you get to the resort - the BD people have a booth set up there, and they can explain in detail what the tours are, how long, etc. They were wonderful to work with. Xel-ha tour is a MUST and if you want to have a crazy party night, try Coco Bongo. Bottom line: stay here. The complainers will complain no matter what, and this is an excellent resort. "
