"Just returned from a 6 day vacay at Grand Sunset and had a awesome time! Yes the resort is huge as it is 3 resorts in 1, The Grand Riveria, Grand Sunset and Platinum Yucatan and they are all beautifully maintained properties. We reserved at the Sunset but soon realized we were placed at the Riveria which put us farther away from our friends but with the trolley assistance by day 3 we knew the shortcuts. We opted for the Platinum and it was well worth the money because of 1. THE WIFI IS ALWAYS ON IN PLATINUM and 2. ROOM SERVICE IS INCLUDED. We had a jacuzzi on the deck and the resort provided us Bath Salts which was a nice touch! We got everything as promised with the Platinum Suite and didnt have to call room service to clean or restock as they were always on time. Check in was over 45 minutes so that was a turn off on our first day but in all fairness it was 3pm and i presume most of the rooms werent available until then so early arrivals were told to come back at 3 to get room keys so the line was almost to entrance. Once we got to the desk check in took 15 minutes and we did receive our champagne and cold towels. Dinner at the restaurants was NICE! I got the Princess Lobster at Las Olas Seafood and it was delicious! The Steakhouse and Miso Teppanyaki show are also a MUST SEE and we loved that it was included! Our platinum concierge made all of our reservations at each one so we had one to visit each day of our stay. Note that Platinum IS NOT THE PARTY FUN SIDE of this resort...Platinum is very laid back and quiet...if you want more of a party atmosphere get the swim out as thats where the action and parties are. All in all we had a good time and would recommend the resort to others"

"I have so much to say I don't know where to start. I was so afraid to go to Mexico because what I see on T.V. Nothing is going on!!! It's a tourist town and no worries about your safety. There is a lot of things nobody advised us of. nMake sure as soon as you get your room key make sure to make your reservations for the individual restaurants. We had no clue how important that would be. You will get tired of the buffet like everyone is saying. The food is alright, my friends hated it. The 2nd day we were there the concierge booked us with 2 reservations so we trusted the concierges choice. Wrong idea, the first place was Miso which says tepanyaki/sushi/oriental. So we get there and one restaurant has 3 different sections so we were booked for sushi only and we didn't know you had to have a separate reservation for the hibachi table and the oriental food. We were so disappointed and left there and went straight to the buffet. Of course we try to go back to the concierge to book for the rest of the week and everyone is booked up. nMake sure if you're going to get the massage at the spa within being there the first 48 hours you get half off. You can't pay up front for the massage they bill it to your room. When you check out you can't pay with cash,. nI paid extra for the platinum suites room which is worth it. I loved my room!nThe room is toward the back of the resort closer to the beach. It's true there is a lot of walking. Another friend had the Villa and I was glad I was closer to the beach. nBring bug spray because the mosquitos ate my legs up. Bring water shoes because the ground was very hot and in sandels it was hard to walk in the sand and my friends were mad and complaining because they didn't have any. I suggest if you have an IPOD or IPAD and speakers bring it. The t.v. has all Spanish channels and no English radio, I think it was one channel with captions. It's true that the pools and beach shut down at 8pm so I was bored a couple of nights. They have shows at night with music and dancers which was nicenThere was a club one night which I stayed for an hour tops and was ready to go. nThis resort is more for family's and couples so if I come back I'm bringing my family.nThey had more activities going on during the day which I had no clue until I started to read this sign the day before I was leaving. I wish someone had told us about the daily activities before which were bingo, water games, water exercise and some other things. nI really wanted to go snorkeling so we decided to take the Cozumel trip. You take a ferry over and then a boat ride out to snorkel. If you have your own snorkel mask and mouth piece I suggest you bring it. Bring your underwater camera, :( nBy the time we got back for the shopping we only had 20 minutes left before the ferry was to leave. Was disappointed because we really wanted to shop. They have food at the beach and drinks. So what I paid to come to the resort was worth it. nThe Princess Resort has a lot of people and low cost. If you want less crowded there was other resorts close by which you would pay more for. nThis should have been a family trip and not a girls trip. nI'm already starting to plan my next trip. Hope all the information helps. n"

"Hotel was definitely Grand. It is very large, which we had no problem with. We didn't mind walking. The grounds are beautiful and very we'll kept. Check in was very smooth. We had no wait to get into our room. We were in a platinum room. It was beautiful with a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and on the deck. Wonderful mini bar stocked. Their is a private pool area for platinum guest of which we didn't use. Their is also a roped off area on the beach for villa and platinum guest of which we used daily. It was great. Wait staff waits on you constantly. we got waited on daily at the beach. We never had to ask for a refill on our drinks. She was there with a fresh drink before we could ask. She was wonderful. There are many pools at the resort. We didn't spend much time at the pools as they were more crowded and busy with families and their children(we have NO problem with families with kids as we have 2 ourselves, but we wanted quite time as we were on our anniversary). Other reviews said that there aren't many chairs open. I disagree. There were always chairs open at the pool and beach. There are just no chairs under the huts in the shade unless you are there very early in the morning. The beach is very rocky. Bring swim shoes. Their is kayaking, and catamarans you can get for free. We rented a jet ski one day. Lots of fun. As far as the food goes, we didn't care for much of it. It just wasn't our type of food. We only ate at the steakhouse as far as the restaurants go and it was ok. We ordered room service once also(24 hour room service. included for free with platinum rooms. Others pay for room services). We also ate at the grill by the platinum area by the beach. It has hamburgers, hot dogs and nachos daily. The sports bar is open late with food also. We saw 3 shows while we were there. They were AMAZING. Anyone who says different should try and do what these wonderful entertainers work their tails off doing and then speak. We did not do any excursions.. You get 2 towel cards and if you lose them it will cost you. If you leave the towel you got with the towel card and someone takes it or it gets picked up by staff you will be charged. Take lots of sunscreen as it is very very hot this time of year. We live in Louisiana and thought the humidity was bad here. It's worse there. All in all we had a good experience. Don't let the bad reviews scare you. Check out was also smooth."

"This was my first time out of the country. I went there because I was standing in a wedding there. Everything was amazing!!! The food was incredible. I loved everything about this resort. There was a lot of walking, but the grounds are beautiful so it isn't that bad. "
