Had a great time at this hotel, in a Very beautiful setting, the beach was out of this world, truly ??????? The buffet was great for the first week, but did get a little fed up with it by the second week, breakfast was good lost of choice. The Italian and Mexican restaurant where beautiful, food to really enjoy and the staff where great, helpful and could not do enough for you, these where manual, george , migel and alonzo on the bar, believe they all need rewards, unlike some, such as Anto... The hotel was lovely and Playacar is a paradise in a secure gated area, we felt very safe at all times! The staff are friendly in the resturants and bars! Housekeeping works tirelessly and do a great job! The odd member of staff in reception can be a bit rude and very much a stickler for the rules and they do things one way which sometimes can over complicate things, the hotel needs to look at the customer experience instead of making things difficult I.e resturant bookings perhaps should be abl... This was my third time visiting the Allegro Playacar and I went with my 20 year old friends. From the start, I felt un-welcomed and uncomfortable because they couldn't find our names on the list. After sorting this problem out, we finally go to our room, by ourselves, and there was one bed for me and my friend, who is also a male. I booked this trip 7 months prior specifically making sure we had two beds. I went down the lobby and was told the place was full and nothing would happen. I argued it... Read more

A really pleasant hotel to stay at. Stayed at the Allegro for 10 nights with my girlfriend. Food: As it is an all inclusive hotel, you get buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner at set times during the day. The breakfast was I feel probably the best out of all the meals as you had everything you could ask for! Every night was a different theme dinner theme. We only had lunch at the snack bar due to it being close to the pool. You also have a snack bar opposite the drinks bar with a selection of foo... Read more

I like to focus on the positives such as this resort's spectacular beach and ocean, a good first club facility and a fun pool area. We really enjoyed the first club area and its small pool-- you can't beat that view. Santi behind the bar was top-shelf and just a great guy. Good eats in the FC every day. The service everywhere on the resort was great. The buffet food was acceptable but I don't go on vacation to eat myself into oblivion. Don't expect 5 star food. We did a day-trip to Cozum... My partner and I spent 8 nights at this resort and it was terrible. We are very well travelled (over 30 countries) but we were really unhappy with this resort and I'm speechless about the positive reviews. Firstly I want to praise the waitstaff and bar staff. They were very friendly, efficient, and we enjoyed their service. Unfortunately the positives stop there. The first two days we were harassed by time share representatives that would 'escort' us to/from restaurant, and around the resort, ... Read more

We stayed for 10 days from 21st May, we really enjoyed the hotel. The staff were always happy to help if you needed it, we did ask them to change the TV as all the screen was red, they did this within 15 minutes of being asked, not that we were bothered by it, but we did check the news. The food was good in both the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. You can walk out the front of the hotel turn to your left and 5 mins away is the Playacar plaza where you can get free WiFi at Starbucks, we on... Read more

Pros Excellent staff Good choice and quality of drinks and food including two a la carte meals per week Well maintained grounds and public areas Great hairdryer Free safe Hot water Huge bed Clean Full day and evening entertainment programme Cons Tired decor Occidental Vacation club (time share) sales technique lacks transparency. Read on line reviews before you go; we got a £50 discount on a trip for attending plus lots of other gifts but went in with eyes open and came out without the times... Read more

We had an amazing time, the food was very good and fresh. They had a breakfast bar with all different types of fruits where you can choose the fruits you want and you take it to the blender where they make you a fruit smoothie. There were many different food options and good liquor and drink options for being an all inclusive. The rooms were very clean and each had their own hammock for you to enjoy and relax. Would definitely recommend.

Just returned from our 3rd visit to this Allegro. We had a great time. Met some old friends in the staff. The food is good. The rooms are clean, not fancy but how much time do you really spend in the room. The beach is absolutely beautiful and you can walk for miles. 25 minute walk to 5th ave. or pay 900 pesos for a cab. Special thanks to the following people. Gabriella in guest services. Josue who made our great omelets. Erika and Viktor at the breakfast buffet. Fidel, Jorge and Ricardo and the ... Read more

We quickly identified that the Mexican restaurant was the only place to eat dinner and did so every night except for when it was closed. However, the food in the Mexican theme buffet that night is one of the reasons why we return to Mexico - proper Mexican food. But back to the Mexican restaurant, Miguel, Manuel and Jorge were brilliant. But special mention must go to the 23 year old chef, Ana. The quality of her food was exceptional and I would not be surprised if she was poached by a larger h... Read more

This hotel is not more than a very basic 3Star hotel : Amenities are basic (2pools, 1 bar by pool/beach, no service on the beach, entertainment is the same every day) , the rooms are old and need major renovation (and we got a lot of mosquitos bites in our room), the food is buffet style which is the same every day at lunch and a bit different at diner and the service at the reception is pretty bad. The pools got dirty while we were there (vomit mixed with drinks) and 3 days later, it was still... Read more

Me and my partner stayed for 10 nights (4th June - 14th June). Overall a pleasant stay, was apprehensive about going after reading some reviews but was pleasantly surprised. We didn't pay 5* prices so didn't expect a 5* hotel, I would say a basic 3* but great for the price. The rooms are small but the air conditioning worked perfectly, the room was spotlessly cleaned every day, mini bar restocked and the maid always left some decoration made of towels and comfy beds. No free wifi but if you walk... Read more

Came here for a family holiday with my nephew and brothers etc, such an excellent place that suits all ages. Could not fault all the staff from the cleaners to the bar staff to the entertainers, all provided good service and could tell they all loved their jobs! Would definitely come again and we were sad to leave. Thank you!
