"I have to say that was the most relaxing vacations that I ever had in Puerto Vallarta. This is a place where you can be relax, quiet and rest. Definitelly is not a place for friends vacations or to go to have party. I always like to go to All Inclusive Resorts and this place is very diferent. Is an small resort in which all is near and you will not be tired if for some reason, you forgot something in your room. Staff is nice, and something that really like me, is the cleanning of all the hotel. Ex, Pool Bathrooms that in almost places are a mess, here were always clean and with dry floors. Another good point is the food. Is the smallest buffet that I ever seen on my life but in a good way. In my case if I have 15 options I have to take all of them. Here you have not too many options but all is from OK to good (something difficult in an all incluisive buffet). Italian a la carte is very, very good. Drinks are also very good. Good selection of Brand Liquor in the Bar makes the difference. Corona beer is a must in the beach... specially in Mexico.. =) Improve Opportunities: When I said that is a place to rest is not a Joke. After 10pm there is nothing you can do here. Beach Bar (Las Olas) is open until 1.30am but was always empty. Lobby Bar is nice too, but again nobody to talk with (probably season). Maybe if they place some alive music will be better.( Come on guys! Mariachi could be terrific!!! ) Snack Restaurant is the Disco at nights but, I was 4 nights there, and nobody dance in the disco... Also nightly entertaiment is poor. I know that in all inclusive is almost the same show. But they don't do too much to have people involved. Sound system is poor too (thay have to change the micro too many times!!!) .... Also day activities were always the same everyday...They have to improve entertainment team... Good Point: You have to go with a guy that is the one that is in charge of Kayaks.. he is very nice and is the kind of people that enjoy his job. The beach is good and near to the hotel. Only think about the beach is that a couple of times, I had oil on my feet!!... maybe is because they are near from Nuevo Vallarta Marina... To finalize... when I booked OG I was trying to compare with the other ones that I already visited, and now I can tell you that is very difficult to compare because they are very different concepts. All I can tell you is that, If you are looking for a place to really relax, with very good service and good food and drinks but forgetting about party, this is the place for you..."

"Having stayed at other All inclusive resorts in Mexico, this is a decent option for all ages. The pool was good. Location is just great. There is something for all ages here. I have the following suggestions that would make the overall experience 4 star for everyone. - This hotel limits the use of speciality restaurants to once every 3 nights. This was a bummer to me having stayed at other resorts in Mexico. - Buffet food quality could be improved - Some night shows were pretty good while some were below average. - Toiletries in the room were below average. - There is no room service in all inclusive package. This is a bummer to me as well."

"Great hotel. Everything is new and clean. The staff is kind, attentive and work hard to make sure you're enjoying yourself. The hotel is large, but not overwhelmingly so which was great. The rooms were spacious and new. Their pool/beach bar was quick to make your drink and all the drinks were well portioned (a small tip helps as well). The only complaint I had with our stay was that the food was pretty bad at times. Although some meals were fine, there were times where certain meals (esp. dinners) were just bad. I have a feeling they don't change their cooking oil regularly at the buffet and it changes the flavor on some of their foods. Again, it wasn't consistently bad, but it definitely needs improvement. Other than that, it's a great place to stay, and, all things considered, I would definitely go again."

"What an experience....there were no complaints on anything....the staff was great....room was wonderful.....the food was no big deal....buffet food....but for as many people that were served on a daily basis, they never ran out.....The staff always kept you entertained from 9a.m. to midnite!!! the only thing I would do different is have a balcony so I could hear the ocean at night......a definate GO on my list!!"

"The renovations that have been made are great! However, more needs to be done. There are some cement problems around the pool that need to be dealt with as well as a loose piece in the women's bathroom at the pool which is a hazard. The quality of the drinks has gone down. The house red wine was intolerable and that was an overall consensus. The drinks at the pool were not as good and only one day out of nine were there bananas for specialty drinks. You had to ask for better rum for mojitos or you couldn't drink them. The rooms are beautiful as well as the new lounge area. The food was good and fantastic in the Italian restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. I would like to take more family members and go back but there are some things that should be changed."

"I do not recommend this hotel. We got married here August 25th 2012 and the wedding coordinator was horrible. The communication from the beginning via email was not helpful. They presented a free wedding package with 5 room bookings and then later try to get us to pay for the package because we did not bring a minister to my wedding. (I DID NOT PAY) Nowhere in the details of the package nor did the coordinator explain that the package was not free if we didn't bring a minster. WHO BRINGS A MINISTER WITH THEM TO A DESTINATION WEDDING ??? Unheard of !! We made reservations for hair and makeup at the SPA prior to our arrival, but because they had another wedding booked at another resort our appt 's were pushed to early in the morning. Therefore we sat in the hotel with our hair and makeup done 3 to 5 hrs before the wedding. On top of that I could have done a better job with my hair and makeup. $266 dollars down the drain. I thought the photographer was too expensive, 410 dollars for 25 pictures AND WE DID NOT GET TO PICK OUR OWN PICTURES !!! Yes you heard correctly. We had to pay for the extra flowers etc and the photographer before the wedding. Not once was it mentioned that he would not have time to print the pictures that I thought I was going to select. We got married on sat and he made arrangements to come back and meet with us Monday morning the day we were leaving. He came with the 25 pictures in hand and I didn't like half of the pictures he selected. I would not have agreed to that if I knew before hand. I felt like he was scamming us to purchase the whole CD of pictures for 350 dollars more. He did not want to make any other arrangements with me, only to buy the whole CD of pictures. And on top of that my dad took better pictures with his camera then the photographers. At the end of the day we purchase the CD without a choice, it was either that or leave with only 13 pictures out of 25 for 410 dollars that we liked. Needless to say I was not happy !! It started drizzling as I was walking down the beach to get married. By the end of the ceremony we were all wet running into the resort. That should have been coordinated better by the wedding planner.
The food at the main dining room was not good. I had a party of 12 people for my wedding and 7 of them were sick throughout the days we were there. The main dinning room smelled like rotten wet mop. One of my guest saw a roach by the food area! Room service was horrible. We ordered room service twice, the first time everything was cold. The second time the eggs were hot everything else cold. This is the first Riu Resort I have stayed in that they do not have food service at the pool. Seems like they were understaffed on Sunday, we had to wait a long time to get a drink or we had to go the bar ourselves.
On a good note the resort is beautiful and the rooms and halls are very clean. Our suite was awesome jacuzzi inside and out of the room. The night of our wedding they had the room decorated beautiful with rose petals, chocolate kissed and champagne. It was very nice, very romantic looking. I wish all the other amenities were up to par because I would have gone back. But I will not and I do not recommend !"
