I found the colours and décor of this hotel relaxing, unfortunately the 6.30am wake up call from the building site nearby was not. The staff were attentive, gave great advice and we were very grateful for the mangers intervention with a booking issue we had.

This is a grand old hotel that is well maintained. The front desk staff isn't the friendliest and the restaurant isn't great. The bellhops are the best. The rooms are very nice and surprisingly quiet. Worst part was to pay for wifi...

Yes, the hotel is far from the central historic area but it's offset by efficient and very helpful front desk staff and spacious rooms. Great beds. Standard rooms only have a view of the pool and other rooms. It was worthwhile getting an upgrade to the Executive Floor - US$45/day. The breakfast choices in the Executive Lounge were good as was the wine with the evening appetizers but those food choices paled in comparison to lounges in Thailand and Indonesia. More like tea time, predominently... Read more

The hotel is very well located not far from downtown. Since the begining personnel atention was quite warm, all of them have the sameservice culture spirit. Installations are quite functional, clean and practical. Buffet breakfast was delicious. There is a tourist agency in the lobby, prices are competitive and options are wide. Land transportation service is very well coordinated, we didn't have to worry about any delay or lack of coordination. No matter if you are travelling by pleasure or bus... Read more

It's a classic Intercontinental with heavy furniture and lots of chandaliers. There is only a small swimming pool, not very attractive, in the centre of a likewise small courtyard. Every room has a small balcony but you could not open the sliding door for more than a couple of inches. What really annoyed me was the lack of noise reduction. On one side the sliding windows were locked on the other side this did not improve the sound level in the room; thus you pay twice: first for not being able ... Read more

The Hotel Intercontinental is a microcosm of Merida. It has a colonial, tropical feel that also makes you ponder if its best days are in the rear view mirror. The Hotel Intercontinental is part stately and part modern, itself a reflection of past and present colliding. I arrived in the mid-afternoon and found myself behind three other guests in line. I was in a bit of a hurry, and the front desk associates were not. It actually gave me pause for a moment to just stop and enjoy the balmy, un... Read more

My wife and I along with 2 other couples who are good friends of ours recently stayed at the Intercontinental hotel during our visit to Merida. The hotel has the Merida charm and character we were looking for and is in a great location with many options for dining. There is a small pool where you can have meals and drinks delivered to you. The rooms are a good size, many with a view of the interior courtyard and pool. Our favorite part of our stay was our bartender, Gespar, in the lobby bar. G... Read more

we selected the hotel based on the fact that it was an Intercontinental, but you need to be aware that it is no where near the caliber that you are used to in other cities. I have stayed in many including the one in Mexico City, but this was more along a 3 star hotel, if I am being generous. I was upgraded to a junior suite due to loyalty program, and it was a nice size but the furnishings and especially the bathroom, although large was out dated. Amenities were not the caliber of a luxury ho... Read more

The hotel simply is an example of a true 5 star hotel, where everything is simply done to perfection! The hotel is very well maintained, the staff is AMAZINGLY friendly, rooms are large and extremely clean, food is outstanding, and did I mention TOP NOTCH SERVICE. The location is in a very good location, with everything you need within 1-2 blocks.(711 for cheap beverages and snacks across the street) The area is very safe and everything is easy to get to. When I travel out of the country I ofte... Read more

The location is really close to Paseo de Montejo, the building is very charming, excellent and helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms. At the moment the restaurant is under renovation but it is not an issue.

The building is nice but there were many small things wrong with our room: lights burnt out, mini bar locked, shower floor felt like it had never been cleaned, coffee left in the room but no coffee maker - many other details that added up to a very mediocre stay. The gym was not nice at all. It had a horrible smell and the treadmill was broken. For this reason alone we would not stay here again. The hotel does not seem professionally managed.

Had the opportunity to spend a night here recently on a last minute booking and it was great. The property is older, but well kept and very clean. Free wifi was convenient, as was the included parking. Breakfast buffet here is a feast! Overall, I would consider this location again if in Merida.

I have stayed here at least 5 times and have simply forgotten to share my positive experiences. The rooms are well organized, the beds are comfortable, and the cleaning staff pays attention to detail and the rooms not only feel clean, they are immaculate. Currently undergoing some great updates that I am sure will only enhance your visit all are in the lobby area, not the room areas. The staff has been over the top when helping with taxis and correct directions to some tough business locatio... Read more

The staff are great specially Carlos at the front desk. The problem was that the bed was old and unconfortable, the mini bar was locked and there was only one bottle of water. The rooms are very large and confortable. The TV could use a better satelite carrier.

I stay at IC for the Club Lounges and this a shabby little room with embarrassing offerings the noise level in the hotel is high as it has busy roads on two sides no refrigerator in the room, slow internet and no water pressure + fixtures in bathroom are broken service overall was weak the hotel looks great from the outside and was clean but this is one my least favorite ICs
