Resort Details

Once a Spanish general`s stately mansion, this Merida luxury hotel fuses colonial nobility with contemporary convenience. Relax on the outdoor terrace and enjoy the finest tequila selection in the city. Staff at the 24-hour front desk are happy to offer visitor information. The hotel also has an on-site gift shop and convenience store.

Accommodation Details

All rooms supply Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, and flat-screen TV`s with cable channels. Minibars, coffee makers, and free bottled water are among the other amenities available to guests. Bathrooms come with a hairdryer and amenities.

Restaurants, Lounges & Bars

The hotel`s elegant Frutas y Flores restaurant provides international cuisine. A range of classic Yucatan dishes is also served. Perhaps the most typical Yucatecan dish is cochinita pibil, made with pork and the annato seed. There are several dishes that come from the precolombian time as the Papadzules, relleno negro, Sikilpack and the pipian. The lounge bar offers live saxophone music two times a week. 24-hour room service is available.

For the Family

Merida is known as the `white city` for its safe and calm streets. A perfect morning can be spent tasting the exquisite and authentic Yucatan gastronomic delights on sale in the small restaurants of Santa Ana park, you can enjoy a variety of regional food like the salbutes and a wide variety of tacos like the famous ones of cochinita pibil, among others. Then you can take a tour to Chichen Itza, the most important archaeological site in the state and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once a major Mayan city, it still has stone temples, palaces, markets, baths and ballcourts in various states of preservation, as well as a fine pyramid where astronomical phenomena can be observed at the spring and fall equinoxes.

Entertainment & Activities

Every day the City of Merida presents a series of recreational and cultural activities designed to rescue, preserve and spread their customs and traditions. A perfect evening can be had at one of the events celebrating regional dance, Yucatecan music and serenades, national folklore, or mariachi and marimba music - all of which take place downtown. Once you`ve worked up an appetite and relaxed into the local rhythms, have a delicious Mexican dinner at La Parrillita, accompanied by yet more live music.

This hotel provides on average stay, The beds are comfortable however the AC noise makes it hard to sleep. The food is actually pretty good at dinner time only and the staff is friendly and helpful but other than that I think there are better hotels to stay at in Merida.

I stay at IC for the Club Lounges and this a shabby little room with embarrassing offerings the noise level in the hotel is high as it has busy roads on two sides no refrigerator in the room, slow internet and no water pressure + fixtures in bathroom are broken service overall was weak the hotel looks great from the outside and was clean but this is one my least favorite ICs

The staff are great specially Carlos at the front desk. The problem was that the bed was old and unconfortable, the mini bar was locked and there was only one bottle of water. The rooms are very large and confortable. The TV could use a better satelite carrier.

I have stayed here at least 5 times and have simply forgotten to share my positive experiences. The rooms are well organized, the beds are comfortable, and the cleaning staff pays attention to detail and the rooms not only feel clean, they are immaculate. Currently undergoing some great updates that I am sure will only enhance your visit all are in the lobby area, not the room areas. The staff has been over the top when helping with taxis and correct directions to some tough business locatio... Read more

Had the opportunity to spend a night here recently on a last minute booking and it was great. The property is older, but well kept and very clean. Free wifi was convenient, as was the included parking. Breakfast buffet here is a feast! Overall, I would consider this location again if in Merida.

The building is nice but there were many small things wrong with our room: lights burnt out, mini bar locked, shower floor felt like it had never been cleaned, coffee left in the room but no coffee maker - many other details that added up to a very mediocre stay. The gym was not nice at all. It had a horrible smell and the treadmill was broken. For this reason alone we would not stay here again. The hotel does not seem professionally managed.

The location is really close to Paseo de Montejo, the building is very charming, excellent and helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms. At the moment the restaurant is under renovation but it is not an issue.

The hotel simply is an example of a true 5 star hotel, where everything is simply done to perfection! The hotel is very well maintained, the staff is AMAZINGLY friendly, rooms are large and extremely clean, food is outstanding, and did I mention TOP NOTCH SERVICE. The location is in a very good location, with everything you need within 1-2 blocks.(711 for cheap beverages and snacks across the street) The area is very safe and everything is easy to get to. When I travel out of the country I ofte... Read more

we selected the hotel based on the fact that it was an Intercontinental, but you need to be aware that it is no where near the caliber that you are used to in other cities. I have stayed in many including the one in Mexico City, but this was more along a 3 star hotel, if I am being generous. I was upgraded to a junior suite due to loyalty program, and it was a nice size but the furnishings and especially the bathroom, although large was out dated. Amenities were not the caliber of a luxury ho... Read more

My wife and I along with 2 other couples who are good friends of ours recently stayed at the Intercontinental hotel during our visit to Merida. The hotel has the Merida charm and character we were looking for and is in a great location with many options for dining. There is a small pool where you can have meals and drinks delivered to you. The rooms are a good size, many with a view of the interior courtyard and pool. Our favorite part of our stay was our bartender, Gespar, in the lobby bar. G... Read more
