We booked the trip and purchased the 'all-inclusive' package which I would highly recommend for anyone as it added less than $200 to the total for our 7 day stay. Upon checking in we requested a room on a high floor and were provided one on the top floor of one of the buildings near the deli. Although there are only a couple restaurants on the property the food was never less than satisfactory. We enjoyed a couple meals that were excellent and our poolside service was always far beyond excellent. I had read many reviews of people complaining about 'food poisoning' but we had no problems at all. The staff at the pool bar was always friendly and quick. When we went the ocean was far too cold to go in. We did walk the beach in the mornings for a little exercise and were usually approached by a local vendor wanting us to tour his resort. Kind of a pain. We attended the timeshare sales presentation that was supposed to last 1.5 hours but lasted over two hours. We did get our $150 credit that we SHOULD have used on 'premium' wines and liquors but we didn't. We kept thinking we'd get a massage or something but didn't. My complaints about the resort are as follows: the only free wi-fi is at the deli. Captain Morgan is considered a 'premium' liquor. If you have any questions, lemme know. "Pre-Resort Arrival - The Mazatlan Airport is physically a short distance away from the resort but it takes a very long time to get from point A to point B. There is no highway and the resort is quite possibly the furthest and last on the resort strip. If you pre-book transportation as part of the deal, they may drop people off at their sister resort which adds another 15-20 mins to the trip. Lastly, timeshare salesmen aren't bad at the airport but they seem to sneak on to the shuttle and start harassing people during the transportation. I guess that's better than wasting your time at the airport but still.

Resort Arrival - the lobby is tiny and always seems busy. There are a lot of bell hops waiting to help you. The front desk line moved at a reasonable speed. The front desk help was pretty good. Our room wasn't ready until 4pm (we arrived at 1pm). They don't offer you a drink or anything else while you wait for your room to be ready. You could find your way to a bar though.

The resort itself is beautiful! The grounds are luscious and clean with great Greek architecture. The compound is long and narrow with a few hills so depending on where your room is, be ready to walk some. They have golf cart taxi's but you'll wait a while for them. Again, I cant emphasize how beautiful the grounds are.

The rooms are also beautiful. Very cute cottage feel with crown moulding and plantation shutters. i would say 95% of the rooms (if not all) have an ocean view. Very very nice decor, very clean, very comfy, and great quality all around.

The food was delicious every night. Don't expect 100% authentic Mexican food. It is tailored to tourists but it's still good. I would compare it to Tex-Mex which isn't my favorite but it does the trick.

Everything about being at the resort was a great experience. The weather was perfect, nights cooled down comfortably, the guests were all great (older cruise type crowd), and it was not busy at all. It was easy to order what you wanted when you wanted. The staff wasn't super eager to help you or go out of there way to provide superior service but it wasn't enough to take away from your experience. Since it was an older guest crowd, everything died out by 10pm and the resort is so far from town that it really discourages you from going out anywhere.

Departure - checkout process is a bit confusing. No automatic check out and if you go to the front desk, they seem confused about what you're doing there. No one really seems to know what 'check out' means and they just kind of point you toward the exit. The shuttle experience was pretty bad. It took about 1 hour and 25 minutes to get to the airport which i believe is about 20 miles away. There were no special gestures made to ensure this treacherousness ride to the airport was somewhat bearable (bottle of water, etc).

All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here again. The only thing i would do differently is take a cab to/from the airport. It will easily save you 3 hours round trip, not just in drive time but in wait time and sitting around time."

"After pulling up to the amazingly beautiful estate like property. We headed to checkin. I had 2 rooms booked both junior suites ocean view. We finished checking in and were told they had our room keys over at the other table by main door. We go over and it is time share of course. Other hotels they stop you as walking by this one makes you go to them unimpressed. Totally high pressure in order to get keys to room. Our 1st room was good 2nd no view to speak of. In order to move rooms we had to pay 400usd to a mstr suite way more than we needed. Seperate bed rm,kitchen,2 bathrooms,goodview. The service at poolfor food and drinks was fast and good. The 2 restaurants were good good selection. Our issue was check out when they tried to get us to pay for tips and service charges. We had a resort credit of 200usd from going to presentation. We ordered water in our room first night as there was none and room service said there should be and would speak to maintanence. So we were charged for that. And we ordered room service and again for food and each time we tipped then why are we paying twice. The best charge was the all inclusive charge after 12 pm. I travel 3 times a year to all inclusives i am a travel agent. And never experienced this. Yes you are to check out of room but you still get to use services. This hotel will nickle and dime you after you tip . Will we go back NO. in june we will go back to vallarta to a 5 star where all inclusive is just that. And no pressure to sit in a sales seminar to get room keys"
