" All Inclusive Resort presented a most favorable vacation for five siblings, their spouses and their 85 year old mother. We all had ocean view rooms which were clean, good beds and quiet. Our mother totally enjoyed the evening shows, the buffet, yoga, water aerobics, swimming and bingo. it gave the opportunity for elegant evening dining from the surrounding restaurants which allowed a private family gathering with excellent service and food. Even though the service was superb,one complaint was the food at the Japanese Restaurant (filled up on rice). Through the day couples were able to escape and do their own thing from using the exercise room, to swimming lenghts, para sailing,snorkelling, beach walking and beach buying, downtown shopping( bus service right out the front door). Our weeks holiday was enjoyed by all and if possible would do it again."

"The accommodations were fine, clean and neat. We were disappointed about the way the 'All Inclusive' was run. It is not well documented that you are not given access to all areas of the resort (i.e. restaurants, bars). There are different levels that allow different access. The website indicates coffee makers in every room but they don't tell you they will charge you if you make the coffee they supply. They have a very limited soundtrack that plays by the pool so you hear the same songs over and over every day around the pool.

Overall, the experience was good. Food was good, service was good. Not much for night life at the hotel. Senior Frogs right next door was fun."

"The customer service at the El Cid was by far the BEST we have ever had at any hotel or on any cruise in the past 25 years !! We had a suite on the 7th floor in El Morrow overlooking the pool and ocean and the view was fantastic, 2 bathrooms, all the kitchen amenities you could want, everything spotless. The staff was always smiling and happy to see us, every single one. The ladies in the VIP office, the waiters in La Conchita, the waiters in the Italian, Argentinian and La Cascada restaurants, the bellhops, were superb and we felt very well taken care of. We went out to the Monte Carlo casino on the evening of our 41st wedding anniversary and when we got back to the room we were greeted with a large bottle of Champagne on ice, 2 glasses and strawberries dipped in chocolate with a beautiful personalized message. Compliments of the ladies in Customer Service. WOW !! Then my husband said look at this. The bed had a giant heart on it made out of Hershey kisses and flowers. The maids had also made paper flowers and swans and carefully placed real flower petals in specific sequence throughout. It was a work of art. We were blown away. All the little touches make the El Cid a wonderful place to spend 2 weeks. We traveled everywhere by pulmonia, even at 2:00 am we felt very safe in all the tourist areas, no problem. Traffic was crazy but nobody's mad, nobody honks and no middle fingers anywhere....The leather prices in the area are awesome too. We will definitely be back."

"We have just returned from a fantastic vacation at the El Cid Castilla. It is our second time staying at the El Cid. We chose to return based on the incredible service we experienced previously, and we were not disappointed a second time. In fact, the staff recognized us from last year and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our vacation.

There are so many staff that we would love to mention here as everything was perfect. Right from the daily housekeeping to the lobby bar to the El Patio to the La Cascada to the Elite Club office to the pool side service.

In the Elite Club, they made sure our room was suitable, the ammenities special, and that we had everything we needed or wanted. We were treated like VIP's. She gave us even more special attention when I became ill near the end of our vacation. We felt confident that if there was ANYTHING we needed, she would be able to help us out.

We spent many hours/days at the poolside and on the beach being waited on. He was polite, efficient, friendly, always wore a smile and was genuinely personable. We even got to meet his wife this year and that made us feel even more special than we already did. We made sure to sit in his section every day because of the excellent service he provided.

The service at this resort is why we have recommended friends and family to book their vacations here. We hope to be back next year. Cheers"
