"Staff was welcoming and helpful. The agent at the front desk was very friendly both coming and going. Other staff members felt like friends by the end of my stay. the hostesses that were greeting guests and offering timeshare presentations. I was never pressured and enjoyed my time talking to both of them.
The room was small but very clean, water pressure was weak but understanding Baja water limitations will let you overlook that. Overall a good value for the price.
The food was pretty basic. If they offered more authentic mexican food I'd have been happier. I think they're trying to cater to the average picky american. Their are many excellant places to eat in Cabo so I used the food service only about half the time. I'd rate the food as fair and not complain because the drinks are worth the price of the food plan. My biggest complaint was a day I didn't eat at all at the restarant and went down to the bar at 10:15. I asked if I could get a small quesadilla and they said 'sorry, your meal plan ended at 10:00 PM'. Given the amount of tips I was throwing around you'd think they could bend the rules and make me a flour tortilla w/ cheese. The bar tender felt bad, the Capitain of the kitchen was being difficult.
My suggestion would be to offer a regular breakfast menu and include some authentic mex dishes, they really don't cost much to make. Also would be nice if they'd open the upper dining room in the lighthouse for dinner, that's one of the nicest dining rooms on the Marina and really would be a great dining experiance with the right food.
Staying at the Wyndam for a promotional price with all inclusive is a decent value, they have the potential to be so much more and with a few minor changes would probably fill up."

"I found it very annoying that the hotel affiliation was constantly pressuring us to participate for the time-sharing sales.

The trip including breakfast, quality was poor, such as low quality tea--the water was not hot and the tea bags were lowest quality. Breakfast, both quantity and quality were below standard. We were very disappointed in our all-inclusive trip. I won't repeat the same trip nor recommend it to our friends. "

"The hotel location is great - right on the marina and in town with an easy walk to everything. The pool area was lovely and the staff around the pool were friendly and helpful. Our room was very small, and did not even have a chair to sit on. We had a tiny balcony off our room. Again the balcony was so small it could not accomodate chairs. Bathroom fan did not work. Shower water pressure was a drizzle at best. We had a refrigerator in the room, but there was no place to plug it in. House keeping regularly forgot to leave us bottled water, coffee packets, etc.

When we checked in, a concierge type person said she wanted to give us an orientation to the hotel and the facilities. She didn't give us an orientation to the hotel, but rather tried to sign us up for a time share presentation."

"For the price this hotel is a super bargain. Location wise you are right in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. The rooms are not that bad ( bed nice and comfortable, clean, no poor mildew smell) if you like it super quiet this may not be the spot. I say that because you have all the party boats coming in and out of the marina blasting tunes in the evening. But I kind of like it. It's pretty upbeat and I'm on vacation and I'm looking for a bit of excitement. Your in a stones throw from all the bars like Cabo Wabo, the casino, and all the other bars. The pool is brand new here and has a south beach vibe to it with a dj station pumping out beats all day. The all inclusive is Smirnoff, Bacardi and Cuervo. Corona and pacifico beers. The other liquors are half off on the higher end. It's relatively slow this time of year so the hotel is not that packed. I have yet to really get into the food package yet so I don't have a comment on that. But if your on the fence on this place you won't have any regrets. So in a nut shell if your looking to fish, looking to party give it a shot. It's all right under your nose here at this place. Other tid bits. The cab service from book it is great, there is no beach here so you must cab it there but give me a few days I'll update more. I'm married to a flight attendent so this is not my first trip out of the house."

"Pros:
- Great location
- Nice rooms
- Overall property is nice
- Pool is fun (when it's open)

Cons:
- From check-in staff to waiters at the restaurant to mini bar service - the staff had no clue what they were doing regarding their all-inclusive guests. We had to prove to the front desk that wi-fi was included in our package and the waiters at the one and only restaurant were constantly confused and then mad when we tried to tip them on our bill because we weren't carrying cash. The list of staff being uneducated and uncaring goes on and on....

- With the exception of a one waiter at the pool the staff was super rude and even talked badly to us because we didn't have cash to tip and the resort can't figure out how to let us add it to the bill that we had to sign after anything we ordered (which is annoying in itself at an 'all-inclusive).

- The food was good for the first couple trips, but got old fast. Especially because the lunch and dinner menu don't change. If this was a regular restaurant where I went to once I would give it a C. Having one restaurant with an unchanging menu doesn't work for an all-inclusive (duh).

- We booked a junior suite with a marina view, and were really excited when we walked into our huge, corner room UNTIL we saw our 'marina view' - which was the back of the flea market - where the trash went. I didn't even ask to switch since the couple we were traveling with also booked a junior suite and got a tiny regular room and then had to fight like crazy to get what they paid for.

- The pool COULD be great if the property wasn't so cheap. We had to continuously ask them to turn up the hot tub and were happy when it got to luke-warm status. The pool bar closes at random times, so you were never quite sure if there would be service there or not.

- 'All-inclusive' drinks ended at 10pm. After that we had to buy our drinks.

- When calling to ask if we could get our mini bar refilled (which is dumb that you have to do anyway), the staff hung up on us....twice.

Overall:

Under the right management and with an upgrade in staff service this place has potential to be awesome due to the prime location. I don't know why they offered an all-inclusive package...this is not an all-inclusive resort and never could be because of the 1 restaurant and other restrictions. We probably got out money's worth because cocktails were flowing heavily, but overall I felt ripped-off.

I MIGHT consider going back under different circumstances if I weren't so tied to being there because of all-inclusive. Out of all the people we met staying there (and we met many) I estimate that 90% of their guests were unhappy. And that's just sad if they're okay with that.

All that said, CABO ROCKS! See you next New Years (at another resort and through another booking service, of course...)
