"We just spent 7 days at the Holiday Inn Los Cabos over Easter week. We have been going to this resort for years when it was an Intercontinental branded property. Happy to say, very little has changed. Most of the old staff were still there and the things I love about the resort are still true: gorgeous physical setting on the bird sanctuary; great expansive beach; great pools; friendly staff; across the street from horse back riding and massage place. The resort is aging a bit, not sure what they can do about that; but I find this place amazing value if you are looking for a beautiful setting and a lot of room to roam around. Also we went with our 2 young kids and this resort is VERY safe. The kids can definitely roam around a bit without concern and the ground floor rooms by the family pool with the hammock area perfect set up for easily coming and going. Try to get a dinner reservation whenever possible- the buffets are not that great - except the Mexican buffet was fantastic! We had no problem getting a reservation for every night and the resort was very full during our week."

"THE Place was well worth the money. Kids stayed free. Tons of GREAT food and drinks. Room was BIG. Some of the staff could have been happier! The staff attended to our requests.. but not all of them had a smile which would have made the stay a bit nicer... some of the bartenders and waiters were VERY nice ... lots of smiles The kids club was great. The staff there 110% ... absolutely loved the kids... Stay there again for sure!"

"Just returned (March 19-26,2012), with my extended family (12 persons). Resort was very clean, rooms were surprisingly nice, staff were courteous and friendly. Beach and pool area were spotless. Quiet, very few venders bothering you at the public beach area. I will comment on the negative. We booked this property to fit everyone's budget that was attending our family get together. I was pleasantly surprised with the aforementioned comments regarding rooms, staff etc, but was very disappointed in the quality of the food at the resort. The breakfast available each day (Napa) was good with lots of options. Lunch at Napa or the outdoor grill area was decent. The dinners however were not good. A la carte dinners were for the most part served warm/cold. The selection and quality of the dinners was sub par. After the second dinner out we chose to head into town and eat at some of the local restaurants for the remainder of the stay. I feel that there is much improvement needed in this area before we would return to this resort. The only other complaint we have is the swimming pool temperatures. (At this resort you cannot swim at the beach due to surf conditions). We found that the pools were very cold. The kids could only be in the water for 20 minutes or so at a time, coming out shivering, blue lips, and having to warm up wrapped in towels before returning to the water. Amp up the pool temperature please in at least one of the two large pools! Address the food issues, turn up the pool temperature and my family would likely return."

"You get what you pay for. The place was very clean and very reasonably priced. We were only there a few days, which was plenty as the food was the same every day. Drinks came in a great variety, and staff were efficient unless you were a kid. My children didn't tip so need less to say, very rarely got service. The activities were OK, but again not much for kids 10 and 12 to do. As far as the beach: very large, beautiful and not crowded, BUT... you can not swim there. That would have been nice to know. Pros: good drinks, very clean and cheap Cons: you get treated poorly if you don't tip, no beach swimming, and food was not a reason to come here."

"We were just passing through Cabos and decided to splurge on a one night all inclusive at the a Resort, we were all really looking forward to it and turned out to be very disappointed. The food was the most disapointing. The snack bar was the worst and had nothing that tasted good except french fries. Everything else was so so but nothing to rave about. The pools are nice but the service at the bars were very slow, usually one or two people working. If it is busy, you will wait quite a long time. The rooms were fine enough and clean and the staff is nice. Another family member of ours stayed at a way nicer resort for less, just not all inclusive.. they purchased their own food. In the end, they didnt spend as much as we did, had better food and and even nicer resort. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone."

"This was a terrible place. If you are smart enough to ask for Bacardi or a brand name drink, then get ready to be ignored by the bar tender. The food was poor & eating times were regimented so it was not pretty much around the clock as we were told. So between the bars closing early, the food having to be, ' reserved ' it was a far cry from relaxingI We went without electricity for 12 hours. We had a gopher dig a hole under our Hammock. I drink tea & it would have been nice to have had a microwave or fridge in our room & since I did the upgrade I would have thought it would have been there. My tea water from their carafe's was not warm enough to steep the tea. I would ask them to heat the water in the kitchen. It would come back with dirt in it! The internet was spotty at best. Many other quests referred to this place as a ' dump', two star at best. One guest couldn't get out of there fast enough, as we were. Some folks said they changed the name to fool people like us into booking it. Then to top it off your lovely agent ran us through the nightmare of airport at Atlanta, GA. We left our hotel in Mexico at 10:00 AM, we got into MPS at 10:15 PM......seriously was it necessary to fly us to the east coast to fly us back to the midwest. Another couple staying at our hotel was flying back an our later on the same airline straight thru. They travel a lot & referred to our flight problem as a ' travel agent problem'. I wish our agent had some heart for what she was doing to her clients. I tend to leave the good lord to take care of my, ' score card '. Shame on those who are so focused on making a buck that they can't hear anything around them."

"I bought this vacation for myself and my mom. I am 39yrs old, and have never had the opportunity to have a vacation. This was a vacation dreams are made of! I never would have believed it would be as fantastic as it was. I had also booked the camel safari, and WOW, that was an experience of a lifetime! Do not miss out on booking something with Baja Adventures, they are such a well organized, classy company! I have nothing but praise for all of the people in San Jose Del Cabo, as well as the staff at the Holiday Inn. We were treated great from the time we got there until the time we sadly had to leave. The staff works their butts off cleaning EVERY inch of the place, it was unbelievable!! We met a waiter there who loves to learn english and will gladly teach you some spanish. A couple of tips I would like to share with anyone going to Mexico; 1. It is SAFE 2. Please, please, please tip your waiters, room service and housekeeping. 3. DO walk to Walmart and see the REAL Mexico along the way. 4. TRY to speak a little spanish (A dictionary will help, believe me) 5. Enjoy ... everything will happen in a mexican minute!"

"What a nightmare! 1st of all we reserved and paid for transportation from airport to hotel, got there and we weren't on their list, took them forever to get ahold of someone who could transport us to hotel. 2nd, we checked in and again had paid updgrade for ocean view room, only to be put in a room with a view of the top of the pool bar, no ocean! Rooms were run down, hair dryer didn't work (we were told you are about the 7th person who has complained about this!) Had only 1 restaurant you could make dinner reservations for and if you weren't in line at 7 (reservations didn't start til 8) you were out of luck! Food was always cold, pool bars only had 1 staff, very slow service. Nearly everyone spoke only Spanish, the ones that spoke English, it was very broken English. Website said 7 bars, only lobby bar (not much seating) from 7 to 11, and 3 pool bars. Went onia presentation similar to a Timeshare presentation and the lady kept saying this is at most a 2 Star resort (we just took it over in August) and she even worked for this place! Not very informative directions about where everything was laid out at the resort. Have done alot of all inclusive travel and this was by far the worst!"

"If I had never been to and All Inclusive I would have nothing to compare it to. We have been at the Riu and Bahia Princape. The most disappointing was the lack of selection and variety of food both in the Napa and 1 a La carte. Rooms and facilities need a serious upgrade and maintenance. The wait staff need to be instructed in customer service. To be accosted by vendors in the complex is very annoying. Some found the beds too firm but I have to say that was one of the few things i appreciated. The good weather was the saving grace on this trip. Back to Cabos... yes but never this place."

"MY 84th BIRTHDAY WAS SPENT HERE JANUARY 17 THRU JANUARY 22, 2013. I HAVE TRAVELED OVER MOST OF THE WORLD, INCLUDING OVER 60 CRUISES BUT ONLY 3 ALL INCLUSIVE RESORTS. THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST. THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE, EVERYTHING TASTED THE SAME. THE ONLY GOOD FOOD WAS THE FRESH EGGS WHICH WERE EXCELLENT. (BUT YOU CAN'T LIVE ON EGGS). WE ATE OUT TWO NIGHTS. ALL MEALS WERE BUFFET STYLE UNLESS YOU GOT UP EARLY ENOUGH TO GET A RESERVATION IN THE ONE SMALL SIT DOWN RESTAURANT. I DIDN'T. I AM USUALLY EASY TO PLEASE. THIS IS THE ONLY REALLY BAD REVIEW I HAVE EVER WRITTEN ABOUT ANY OF MY VACATIONS. ."

"We (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed in the Presidente for 8 nights in a ocean front room, with terrace directly to the beach. We loved the familiar atmosphere and the friendly staff. The activity pool was great too, the water very warm and (chief animator) got the people going. The buffets were substantial and of good quality. Definitly not going to bed hungry ever. Our son (9) loved it and was a regular at the snack bar. The rooms were not fancy (I did not like our bed), but clean. American cable TV (HBO,..) and free WIFI were available. The right place to relax with family, not the place to party throuhgout the night (although they do also organize booze bus trips). We would go back."

"When I got to the hotel, the staff was really nice and pleasant. I didn't like the location of the room. It was at the very back of the hotel which I didn't think was safe since I am a female and I was alone. I wasn't extremely impressed with the room. There were long strands of hair on the bed and in the shower. Also, the water smelled terrible coming out of the shower. After complaining to the front desk, the room was cleaned when I returned later. However, the hair in the shower remained. My overall experience was good. The hotel staff was very attentive and polite. I just think the room needed to be a lot cleaner than it was. Also, there was no mini fridge or microwave in the rooms."

"Promise by Book It to have manager call me never happened. Waited from 10 am to 2 pm in room for call. Customer service dropped call 6x. See You Tube 'Book it.com Forget it' Posted in late January 12'.

The front desk clerk can assure your not wanting to be there.
The bellman and the front desk manager are just the opposite. Welcoming and hospitable they make up for the shortcomings of their 'team member'.
Location: Non swimming beach, across street from horse stables ( decades of horse manuer breeds flies), 1/2 block from sewage treatment plant.( Pray for an on-shore breeze.)

Accomodations: Old, holes in the sheets, rust, broken locks etc. Mattresses sitting in halls. Food from room service left in hall all day.

Food: The 'special' Christmas Dinner was sold out at 10 AM. but not worth going to, cold, small portions, poor quality. Walked from one restaurant to the other slightly explains the cold food, but cold Cantelope soup? In the winter?

Breakfast cook in a trance cooking eggs, cant speak or understand english besides, 'over easy'. Everyone standing in line trying to convey to her how they want their eggs in futility. Her response: 'Over easy?'

Front desk worker- rude, ambivalent, uncaring, smug and obviously bothered."

"This review could habeen scathing if not for the efforts of the front desk manager and the bellman.
I arrived a week early to view the property as I was staying at the magnificent Cabo Azul just up the street. All but Christmas eve was available there so I booked a night at the holiday inn presedente.
A front desk person was ambivalent to my standing and waiting to be acknowledged. Finally she mustered out , ' yes!' as though a friendly greeting of ' hola' or 'como estas' was below her pay grade. Obviously annoyed that she had to bother. She had that front desk attitude of someone who had worked the front desk a long time and was quite secure that she didn't need to be nice as her employment was assured. I asked to view the property and she quickly banged on a bell but never answered my question.
The bellmen came in a few minutes and was just the opposite ! He was welcoming, professional and in no rush so that all my questions could be answered.
When I came a week later to check in, here was the same front desk lady..... Same attitude except this time she was rude! Explaining the ' all inclusive' portion of my stay she explained there were two 'fine dining ala carte' restaurants but that you must make a reservation the day of the dinner, at the front desk not by phone, between the hours of 8 am and noon. I asked to see the menu and she handed a Spanish menu to me. I asked if it was printed in English and she obliged begrudgingly. I said ,'ok I'd like to make a reservation for tonight (it was 10 am and only people that had come to the front desk in the last two hours could have made a reservation) she exclaimed,' there are no reservations available tonight'! At either restaurant. You will have to eat at the outdoor buffet...( it was freezing and windy like Chicago). Why show me the menu? Why give me the run down on reservations? Obviously not for some other time as I was only staying the one night. Frazzled I let the bellman take my bags to a room with busted door locks, screws on the floor and the smell of sewage mixed with horse manuer. As it turns out the stables for all the pretty horses you see in Cabo are across the street as is the sewage plant. The predominant wind is favorable but this day it was reversed and strong. I called bookie 6x talked to 2 representatives, hung up on 6x I was going nuts. I checked in @ 10 am and stayed on the phone until 2pm. What a day. Promised several times that a manager would call from bookit and that their
Phone system must be out of order to drop the calls 6x.... Manager never called.
The front desk manager apologized for the clerk's attitude and offered to move me to an upwind unit and make a ' dining' experience. Two choices fish in a fennel sauce or turkey disks stuffed with spinach. A quarter sized ( no exaggeration) appetizer of a salmon roll on a crouton was followed by a cold melon soup, aka cantelope in a blender. Followed by a cold, soggy crab cake.... When the fat encased turkey came I gave up. The Argentinian wine was the highlight and it is 70 pesos ($5) for the same bottle at the local Mega supermarket.
I went to my better room only to find out the Christmas fiesta was outside my back door with a loud speaker at fever pitch like a disco. Freezing outside with the wind howling I figured if you can't beat them join them I attended. At 11 pm it stopped..... Thank God!
I couldn't wait to get out and checked out at 9 am.....
What a waste! By the way, there weren't 15 people in the sold out restaurants and I saw no one happy with the cold food and several just leaving their plates in mid meal.
Awaiting a reply from Bookit or maybe that manager is still going to reach me here at the Cabo Azul. Video for YouTube awaits as well as trip advisor, yelp and anyone else's blog....."

"I booked our stay (a party of five people) at the Intercontinental/President Hotel with the main purpose of enjoying the sunny, warm waters of the ocean within a peaceful and quiet environment.
Unfortunately we were notified of the change in name and ownership of the Resort two weeks before our scheduled and long awaited vacation.
We were not pleased with the unpleasant surprises we encountered from the very moment we stepped inside the airport. We were met by a horde of anxious sales representatives of all possible hotels, except our own. The company (Epic) responsible for our transportation was nowhere in sight, neither there was any sign as to their whereabouts. After we were able to locate two people with the BookIt badge, about 45 minutes after we cleared immigration and customs, and handing out our Transport Vouchers, we were told that no car or van was available. About 20 minutes later we were rushed into a van and we all breathed with relieve thinking that the ordeal was over. Little we know that there was more of the same to come and worse.
After we checked in, we were greeted by a very ebullient staff promising us their availability to solve all our questions or concerns 24 hours a day and requesting our cooperation to attend a presentation (1 and 1/2 hour) during our breakfast time the following morning, although we were told later on during the presentation that it was 1 and 1/2 more, after breakfast!
We were told that we could not enter the ocean much less swim in it because the entire coastal hotel zone was dangerous due to powerful undertows. Anyone can imagine our disappointment; there was no mention of this critical deficiency, anywhere in the literature available over the internet to describe (promote) the Resort.
This is a resort for people who want to look at the ocean, not for those who enjoy swimming and playing in its waters.
A summary of our 6-day-experience is as follows:
Areas of excellence, the quality in preparation and presentation of their meals, the beauty of the Resort, and the prompt service of the first-line staff to solve problems.
Areas of improvement, (i)flow of clear communication among supervisory staff and their employees, (ii)clear differentiation between roles and responsibilities of staff working for the Hotel and those working for the President's Club, (iii)establishing and communicating one-point of contact for the clients, (iv) training in the basics of honest customer service."

"I surely recommend this great resort to my friends and family, It`s very classy and employees are friendly, but need more attention to details (not bad for someone had traveled to over more than 25 hotels and brand names, but usually the IGH hotels are the best). "
