Resort Details

Loreto`s water is untouched. You may have seen the color aqua before, but never like this. This earth is unspoiled and this aqua is uncommonly brilliant. The Islands of Loreto is one of the few remaining places on earth worthy of its most common description, pristine.

This natural Marine Park is blessed with enormous amounts of natural beauty, yet it is largely undeveloped. It seems the world is just now discovering how magical this setting really is. In the distance, the five islands that float on the horizon of the Sea of Cortes have formed an ecological barrier creating an underwater concentration of every spectacular sea animal one can imagine, and with the mountains reaching into the brilliant, sun-soaked skies, it is not only hard to believe it is real, it is nearly impossible to endure the moments before you arrive.

Villa del Palmar is a wonderful full-service resort that has not yet been discovered by the masses. The rooms, pools, bay, and hiking are outstanding. Unlike so many places in Cabo, this is very quiet resort where the staff really try hard to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. Villa del Palmar, as well as Loreto, have not become ultra popular destinations like Cabo and Cancun, so they 'try harder'. We never had trouble getting poolside lounges and towels, not was reservations for dinner ... Read more

My friend who is a member of the hotel was a bit nervous after reading how remote the hotel location was. Not to worry it is well worth the drive. When we arrived we were already pre checked in,escorted to our room. We immediately headed for the pool for the daily happy hour. Pool bar staff was very welcoming and catered to all our needs through out our stay. Day 2 we took hotel shuttle to tomn. You get dropped off at a hotel and it's an easy walk to the boardwalk. I flew into Loreto to enjoy some golf time with my friends. My friend called Villa del Par Mar on Thursday and confirmed a Saturday 9:00am tee time. He left his name and phone number with the booking agent. This golf course is a little out of the way if you are not staying at the resort but we wanted to try out this new course and thought the drive would be worth it. We arrived at the resort and they had our name at the entrance gate for our confirmed 9am tee time. It was downhill from there... Read more

The golf course is awesome. What a achievment in the Baja. The resort is very pretty and quite. The food is great. Better be because there is nothing else within about 30 miles. Its not for everyone. No bachelor parties or wet tee shirt contest here. Bummer.Hopefully eventually classy retirees and their Grand kids will be regulars. Nice place to build a house if your wealthy and want solitude. Great place to bring out of control 16 year old daughter and avoid what happened in Cabo last year. Its... Read more

Located on a private bay approximately 40 minutes from the Loreto Airport this brand new Piece of Paradise is amazing for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. Walks along the sandy beach up to 30 minutes each way, hikes on marked paths in the hills overlooking the Golf Course and Resort, 5 Pools and a massive Hot Tub. On low tide it is possible to walk out beyond 100 yards in water knee deep and explore beautiful snorkelling areas where the hills meet the water. We went for a week of Rest and Relax... Read more

Weather was perfect the entire time. Highly recommend the Danzante Island tour booked directly at the resort. We had Rammses for our guide and he was fantastic! Puffer fish, Morey eel, octopus, sea turtles, etc etc. Great snorkeling. Food was great. Evening entertainment was fun. They make a great Margarita at the Casa Mia restaurant which looks over the private beach and bay. Hiking trails for all kinds of hikers. Even a hike from the resort to a private cove for snorkeling. Our family just spent a week in this beautiful paradise. We have previously spent time at the Villa resorts in Cabo and Purto Nuevo and prefer this one over the other two. The location is spectacular if you are a nature vs. city lover. We went kayaking, hiking, paddle boarding, biking, swimming, snorkeling and enjoyed a couple of lazy days by the pool. One day we took a boat trip out to the islands (Coronado island was the main destination) and encountered dolphins, manta rays, sea lions, huge... Read more

My wife and I were invited to Villa del Palmar in Loreto, Mexico by some members of our congregation and all I can say is that this Resort is a small piece of Heaven on earth. The facilities, food and staff are all excellent and go beyond the norm to make sure that your stay is worth every dime. The Sea of Cotrez was awesome to swim, snorkel, and kayak in. We are members of the Villa del Palmar group of resorts, and this is by far our favorite spot. This was our third trip in the last two years, and we love this location. The area has not been spoiled by over commercialization, and you can truly relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Dazante Bay. However, if you are looking for a "Cabo" or "Cancun" environment, this may not be the spot for you. The water and marine life are amazing. Carlos at the Golf desk went out of his way to help me. When I came down stairs he had a golf cart with the clubs and an ice chest full of cold water. Service was off the charts. The course was beautiful and # 17 as spectacular as advertised. The accommodations was also first class. They parked my car took my bags to the room and made me feel right at home.

We stayed the first week in June. Overall, the resort is good, not great. The whole place just feels incomplete. It's like you want to give them an "A" for effort, but the execution just isn't quite there. It is good, but far from the quality of other all-inclusive resorts we've stayed at in Mexico (Garza Blanca and Marival Residences, both in Puerto Vallarta). Loreto is a beautiful place and we absolutely love Villa del Palmar. Why do we love this hotel? The trip to get there by itself, 30 minutes or so from the airport, offers amazing views. The Danzante bay is astonishing. The hotel is large, but despite that, does not alter the scenery; on the opposite, its size helps in giving the feeling of being alone in the nature. And nature, kindness and great service is what you find. Roberto del Rio, Luis Bollen and Miguel Lince at the Reception did the pos... Read more

what a vacation destination! couldn't have been any better. Perfect location for rest, pool lounging, food, and activities. Made it especially nice that we had the resort practically to ourselves, with only about 25 people checked in during our week stay! Staff was very accommodating helpful, and friendly.

There is no other way to write this review but to say the good, the bad and the ugly! I am someone that travels the world. I vacation 6-8 annually via my 9 vacation ownerships so I'm very familiar with the game! I will say my ownerships are all through Starwood with the exception of Grand Solmar in cabo. First - Loreto is not easy to get to from the east coast. One flight a week there from LAX so it basically took us two days to get there. I was offered a referral package from a friend that... If you are looking for a trip of a lifetime, visit the Villa Del Palmar Beach Resort and Spa at the Islands of Loreto. We have been there twice, and are returning this coming Thanksgiving 2016. It will be the third Thanksgiving we spend in luxurious Loreto. Literally, the best vacation every, we spend days visiting the spa, hiking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, swimming...all on the premises. Tucked away, in a Jacques Cousteau protected environment, Loreto is the place to be. The service at... Read more

They have shuttles 5X per day, 5USD RT which helps get you into town, but little else. For example, if you want to golf at Loreto Bay, need to rent a car or take a taxi.
