We initially booked a year ago for our trip in May 2016. What we signed up for was the little bungalow style on the European side & what we got was a large modern hotel on the American side. We spent 95% of the time on the European side as the beach was MUCH nicer on that side. During our stay we inquired with the concierge on multiple occasions, from asking various restaurant questions to as simple as questions regarding the spa location, and not ONCE did we receive a correct answer. This hotel is still a very beautiful hotel with possibly the best customer service I have ever had. The grounds and rooms are truly beautiful and the food is excellent. My main criticism of the changes is that they are now trying to cater for to many different types of people, it is no longer small and romantic, instead there is an entertainment team and a noisy pool, with a constant to push to play games etc. I feel the hotel is still worth a visit just not as good as it used to be.

We can't really fault anything about this place....delicious food (plenty of choices), the view ...HEAVEN! and the most important part THE STAFF, all the people are working day and night to make your staying something special. Big applause for the entertainment staff that is always cheerful and pro active with the different activities in the resort. The waiters..... LUCY specially are always aware of what you could be needing and they already know what you are going to ask after being a while in... Read more

Husband and I had an absolutely amazing time at this beautiful resort. Two weeks of awesome service, total relaxation and great food. The staff here really make it, from the room boys (Antonio) to the wait staff in the restaurants, the bartenders (Rolando) and the entertainment staff, everyone is happy to help and always with a smile. The food is great, the drinks flow and the atmosphere is really home from home and not at all pretentious. The room we had (premium swim up suite) was beautif... Read more

Wow....where do I start. This place for my wife and I was 5 stars and more. Let's start with the staff, everyone was awesome. From the lobby staff, to the room maid, the bar and restaurant staff, the buggy drivers and not to mention the Sports and Entertainment guys. A particular highlight was Pepe and his movie quiz. Great fun and that guy likes to dance (Excellente). Now onto the resort it self. The place is paradise. I think we had one of the best rooms and locations. If you can, go for a pr... Read more

Absolutely fantastic holiday and nothing too much trouble. Our concierges, Ruth and Rachel were excellent. Lots of choice for food and drink throughout the resort. Met some lovely people which made the whole holiday, all the more special. A relaxed pace resort to come to and enjoy, chill and recharge. Highly recommended

Arrived after a long flight. Very efficient check in. Taken to your room and bags arrived very quickly. Room large and very well fitted out, large flat screen TV, jacuzzi bath, good AC that. Is needed and comfy beds. 1st night went to Mexican and really enjoyed it. Most restaurants you are served not the normal serve your self. Waiters were great and kept your glasses full and happy to help with menu choices. Entertainment well above average for all inclusive. Comidy Magic act and circus act des... Read more

This holiday was absolutely amazing! I've got real holiday blues now being back in England. I do not understand some peoples bad reviews, I can only assume they are incredibly snobby. We had a junior suite in the sensimar side of the resort with a balcony looking out onto the beach. Yes the rooms are a bit on the dark side however I imagine they're built this way for shade/keeping cool. After being outside all day in the blazing sun we actually quite liked it. We were really impressed, The roo... Read more

Lots been written about this place which is actually two hotels sharing the same facilities so I'll start by giving a bit of clarity. The El Dorado Spa is primarily aimed at the American market and with a high level of time shares, whereas the Seaside Suites has recently been taken over by Thomson/TUI as part of their adults only Sensimar brand. As I said the bars, restaurants, shops etc are available to all and in that respect it takes a bit of exploring to get to know the place so I've reviewe... Read more

I visited sensimar seaside suites for 11 nights on the 17th of June. You're greeted at the entrance with a face towel and glass of bubbly which is very welcoming. The food at the buffet restaurants is a very good standard but the a la carte restaurants have some brilliant food! I definitely recommend Mia casa and The gourmet pub. The entertainment and sports team I was really impressed with, they will always try and make your holiday a bit more fun and are very friendly. I would have to make a ... Read more

My wife and I had our first experience of all inclusive at this hotel, and it did not disappoint. Food, drink, service, towel animals, activities, all the trimmings, all spectacular. We decided to stay at the Sensimar Seaside Suites resort in Mexico for our honeymoon and couldn't have chosen a more wonderful place to stay! The hotel is beautiful set in palm trees and flowers all around, and the areas are all maintained perfectly. The resident iguanas are also really cool, they are everywhere! Arrived at hotel quick check in and off to our room, which was in the middle of everything. This was our second visit, the last time we went it was still el dorado seaside suites, so we were interested to see the changes that have been made. We flew on the dreamliner and had a private taxi transfer organised by Thomson's, this is the best way to travel, it cost us £60 return taxis, we were at the hotel a full 2 hours before the coach from our flight got there, then on the return home we were at the airport and checked in within 10 mins as there were no queues. I wish i could have fit the bed in our suitcase as it was sooo comfy and massive. We booked this holiday as a treat for ourselves after a hectic few years...the best decision we ever made!! The complex itself is lovely, never more than 5 minutes from the sea (or a bar). We stayed in a swim up room on the "old" side and loved it, the room was spacious and cool, having the pool literally on our doorstep was amazing...had the sun on the patio (if that's the right word) for the majority of the day and when it caught the shade later on it was a welcome relief from the heat. We previously visited the then El Dorado Seaside suites in 2011 before the Premium block was built or the ‚??new‚?? El Dorado block which is for US and Canadian guests. Whilst there is no doubt that the addition of the new buildings means there are more people and the atmosphere feels slightly different as a result, overall the resort was still an amazing experience for us. Visited this hotel in June and had a great holiday. The staff are exceptional and cant do enough to make your stay the best they can. The food was a good standard not outstanding but nice and a good variety. The resort complex is set in the middle of the mangroves of Riviera Maya and the noise from this can be quite intense. Trip to Coba Mayan Ruins was very interesting and filled with plenty to do. The local town about 1/2 hour away is a must for shopping and experiencing more of Mexico. Has a ... Read more

I won't go over too much of why this is so good as the other reviews do a much better job, but needless to say we went for a 10-day honeymoon and its absolutely fantastic, well worth the money. Instead some useful points: Pros: The staff (waiters, bellhops, concierges, the lot) are mind-blowing compared to the level of service you get in the UK - always ready to help at the drop of a hat, cheery day and night and look like they genuinely enjoy being there.
