The food was plentiful and the Margaritas refreshing . The handmade omelet in the morning were worth the wait. Be sure to sit in Feliciana's area she will make sure you lack for nothing. We were also highly entertained by waiter who made portraits in our Cappuccino. Find the Adults Only Bar and let Carlos make you a Margarita or Banana Mama, or Cuba Libra. We will definitely go back and this time stay longer.

We just returned home from a visit to the Grand Palladium Colonial and had a great time. The staff at this resort were all so friendly and helpful. If you even looked a bit confused, they would stop to ask if they could help you get to where you were going. We had an issue with our safe in the room and they came within 15 minutes to fix it. Also had to ask for more wash clothes as they only give you two and both times were followed up with a phone call to make sure we received them which was... Read more

After our ninth booking we were really ready to look elsewhere for another destination, Every year up until this we have decided within 30 minutes that we wanted to return the next year. This year was different. It took 3 days. We don't think there is anywhere else that could give us the complete package we experience at the Palladium. What we found this year was that the wild jungle landscape has been manicured and although we loved it as it was, the cutting back and vast replanting looks exce... Read more

We need to go to reception on 2 occassions (1 as the shower gel hadnt been replenished and the other because the mini bar hadnt been filled) each time they said they would sort it neither time did they! Wasnt a big issue however if we had a serious issue I cant help but think they would be been equally as unhelpful. A lovely resort with direct access to a large sandy beach and beautiful surroundings. The resort itself is extremely well taken care of (we constantly saw people cleaning), offers lots of different activities (there is no chance you will ever get bored), it's staff is the friendliest and most helpful we've ever seen in Riviera Maya, and the pools are huge and clean. The resort is absolutely beautiful and one could never run out of things to do there. It was a perfect getaway for our family which includes 2 parents and 2 young adult children. I enjoyed the natural setting and seeing animals throughout the resort. It is about an hour south of the Cancun airport (with a direct transfer). Although there were a lot of people at the resort, it never felt overcrowded, because everything is spread out across the property. It is a great value for the money. We found... Read more

Nothing was further than a 10 minute walk. Starting with the restaurants . The buffet ones are excellent , with a wide range of choices to suit everyone . Each tends to serve the same selection each night , but each restaurant is different. The a la carte ones are good but you do tend to have a wait for a table when you can see plent... Read more

My husband booked this hotel after careful consideration. There were only a few bad reviews on this property and I thought, it couldn't be that bad! Well, I should have taken heed to the warnings. When we arrived, at 11am, we were told that we would have to wait to until 4pm to check in! After a long morning of travel, that was the first annoyance. So, to kill some time, we went to one of the many restaurants to eat lunch. It was horrible. The food tasted like cafeteria food...seriously. They ... Read more

Wonderful place, everyone friendly couldn't do enough for you, very hard working staff, food fantastic so much to choose from, yes you do walk a lot,yes you do get mosquito bites, but so worth it,even the 10hr flight. The room we had was in Villa 44,a quiet part of the resort. There are buggies to take you around,we never had to wait more then five minutes for one.Would love to go back again.

Grounds:The whole place including the adjacent hotels you have access is quite large and beautiful. The grounds are very well kept with a few capybara which look large hamsters with a longer legs. Lots of coati's and iguanas, a few lizards, a few raccoon, but we did not see any spider monkeys. The paths go through the jungle. We had NO bugs in are room at all. We did a lot of walking between going to dinner, the sports complex, on the beach etc. They do have carts that you can catch throughout, ... Read more

This was our 2nd trip to Riviera Maya and our 1st stay at GP. We spent 7 nights at the Colonial and loved it! 4 stars for the bland buffet food, but other than that, an excellent experience all around. Us: Family of 5: kids 12, 10, 3. The bad: - Buffet for b-fast & lunch got old after day 3. We tried one buffet for dinner and it was so bad, we did a la carte's the rest of the trip. - Italian restaurant was not good. Now for the good: - Junior suite was fairly spacious for us. - We like th... Read more

We absolutely loved our stay in Mexico and particularly this resort. The resort is set in the jungle and consists of a number of low rise apartment blocks. They are nicely spread out which means that they are very quiet. Getting around the resort is very easy. Being Fitbit addics we walked everywhere and easily got to over 10000 steps every day. Walking back to the room after a lovely meal was a great end to the evening (and way to make your dinner go down). If you are not a walking fan though,... Read more

Wonderful experience and staff second to none. The food was excellent in all restaurants and couldn't beleive the amount of choice. We spent our days on the beach and the bars gave us excellent service. If I could give you any tips it would be to take sea shoes as there are quite a few rocks on entering the sea.

We went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had a great time. It's an hour and 20 mins away from the airport but it's worth it. On our first night they gave us champagne and basket of fruits which is really nice. Food is amazing, facilities are clean and excellent customer service. Buffet and ala carte restaurants are really good. Our favorite is the Brazilian Spot-O Pavao, a must try! We wanted to try the Japanese-Hibachi but always fully booked and so hard to get reservation. Myself and a group of 17 were here from July 8 to 18th for a wedding. This is a great resort, just too large for my taste. There is PLENTY of wildlife on this resort ranging from large lizards to beautiful birds, exotic fish and monkeys (although I never saw the latter) no snakes, no spiders. The rooms are a fine size with a sitting area , nothing exceptional, but clean. The only complaint I had of the room is the sliding balcony door that you must keep shut in order for your ac to keep runnin... Read more

We had a fantastic holiday in grand palladium colonial. We booked through thomson and they were fantastic from the travel agents, the flight and the rep and the trips couldn't fault them one bit! We got to the hotel after about 1hr 30 minutes from Cancun airport. Check in was fine, we had a welcome drink and the receptionist provided us with our keys, towel cards and explained the map of the hotel showing us where key things. My family and I visited the Grand Palladium in 2012 and 2013 not 2015. The food is amazing with so many options especially at breakfast! The staff were the highlight of this trip, you would never walk past them without exchanging a smile and a 'hola!'. The only negative about this destination would be that we didn't get many hours of sun. I still gave The Palladium 5*'s because it was our choice to go in December. Huge resort with plenty on offer. Food was just OK... I am not a foodie but like tasty food and this in general wasn't, sadly. I was looking forward to the spice and cheese which I expected in Mexico but it was almost bland compared to even the Mexican food in UK. Pools and beach were nice ... Lots of guests and queues for food every night and normally at breakfast too. As I write this comment at 3:38 AM, I have had no sleep (not by choice) as I have been in a hot, humid room all night due to a dysfunctional AC unit. After 4 phone calls someone was dispatched bit he is now back in the room as he did not resolve the issue the first time. It has tremendous positives, but at the end of the day we had such trouble with the food, I can't recommend this resort. Yes, the resort is very big, but this was not a problem for us - we walked between all 4 lobbies, enjoyed the variation, and it also means that all the people are very spread out. Me, partner and 6 year old twins stayed here for a friends wedding. There's plenty of bars and restaurants and entertainment on. Drinks were lovely and lots of choice but service is abit slow. Rooms are nice but not enough space for 2 adults and 2 children. Kids club was not that great but it's a hotel one not a holiday company run so that makes a difference. I wouldn't return but only because there is so many other places to visit in Mexico but I would recommend it to others
