All the reviews are bang on. Nice clean resort with good service and food. The a la cart restaurant (Italien ) reservation can be made at noon and are unlimited. Location is great walking distance to all the restaurant and shopping in Ixtapa and a short bus ride to ixtapa island or Zihuatanejo. There's no safe in the rooms only at the front desk that was fine. There's no problem getting chairs at the beach or pool.

Good food, very clean, great sunsets, beautiful beach, nice (shallow) pool but a few drawbacks. Hard bed, big surf (black flags out the week we were there), noise from the disco, wifi slow and only in the lobby. Skip the cab and take the city bus to Zijuanteneho and Ixtapa Island ferry.

The area is so great! I agree with many reviews, the rooms were very basic, no fridge single vanity, super old bathroom, and hard bed. Really though, how much time do you spend in your room?! The staff is wonderful, the pool is great, and the beach is one of the best around. The bartenders especially Victor and Omar were the best they were on top of the drink situation! I had the fresh fish everyday at the lunch buffet and the tacos by the pool on Saturday night were so good. There were a lo... Read more

We take an annual trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and this year we chose to go to Ixtapa. We have a time share in the Park Royal system, so this was the obvious place to stay. The facility was a little dated, but very clean. Crews were out maintaining the grounds all day long, so it never got cluttered or dirty. The service was excellent throughout and the staff very friendly. The beautiful beach was great for long walks, but the water wasn't all that clear. The surf there is... Read more

The hotel is big, rooms are comfortable but no much more than that, I mean, the bed was hard, the bathroom less than optimal. Infrastructure lacks some features like enough power outlets in the room (no outlet by the bed to charge the cell phone!) and a wi-fi network that is accessible only in the lobby but, again, not in the rooms. The worst: those nasty black birds in the open restaurants (Veranda and Pescador) stealing all the food they could from the tables as soon as passengers left their s... Read more

We went to a wedding but the hotel service was awful and our room had water falling from the cieling, very rude workers also the pool is always so full of kids and the food is always the same, and when it was time for us to checkout they didn't even let us use the restroom while we waited they said that if we stayed in the lobby we would have to pay, in the event the organizer from the hotel didn't even organize the people right they where doing everything wrong.

This is an old hotel that seems to be poorly renovated a few years ago. Wifi is terrible and unsecure. Google takes a minute to load from our room, when it loads. On the lobby it takes 30 seconds or so, which again makes it unusable. Also the hotel Wifi is open, which means that anybody can capture all your traffic. There is a business space with usable and protected wifi, but you need to be a member to use it and the staff uses the place for conducting their business so it's unpractical for d... Read more

Stayed here due to family vacation, the hotel was chosen by other family members. I liked the location, lots of shops and a night club across the street. Easy access to public transportation which takes you down the strip of shops and restaurants. The food is ok, nothing special about it at all. My favorite meal was at the Italian restaurant which you have to reserve for at noon. The pool area was decent but it's a family hotel so get used to lots of children running around and splashing away in... Read more

pool closes at 8pm !!! It's a bad joke. com'on! Breakfst is ok but always the same Beach is great (waves are the biggest in this part). room is not too bad but shower is too small. Service in my case was very kind but looks like in the restaurants are too few people serving many tables.

The only problem we had is that royal holiday booked our trip. Even with the printed conformation we were told they were over booked and only had one room available. We booked three rooms. After about an hour of being discussed and tying to deal with the fact that we had reservations for 6 months. Finally the hotel manager made it work for us to get the 3 rooms we had reserved, they ended up move some other people to one of the other resorts. Not impressed with Royal Holiday

Stayed with two other families over the Memorial Day Weekend. Hotel was very crowded with many locals purchasing day passes to the facility. Food choices dismal to awful as an all inclusive. Drinks watered down and since most did not tip, we always did, service was sooooo slow. The suites were very small. I have had the opportunity to stay in several beaches resorts in Mexico and this one has been the least likely for me to return. Sorry, Park Royal, your management team has to ump the service, ... Nice location, staff was great, just needs a better selection of food. My group found ourselves going out for food more than taking advantage of the all inclusive eats. Also don't remember the outdoor snack area being available during our stay.

Pool very crowded. Food selection was limited, the beds are hard and they had an odor which would make me think if they were clean? The Italian restaurant was great! awesome food there. You need to upgrade and pay more if you want to be comfortable.

We loved our vacation here. The ocean view from the balcony was gorgeous, and we spent a lot of time up there just enjoying it. The pool is nice and has a swim-up bar, plus there's another bar just to the side, next to the beach access path. The staff is all very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and well maintained, and the food is plentiful. We can't wait to go back!

Traveled there in May 2016 and was very pleased. Very family oriented hotel ,clean and staff very helpful. The Italian restaurant was well worth it, waiters were very polite and attentive and took the time to explain the menu. Looking foward to my next trip to this beautiful resort.

All Inclusive is comfortable but they serve poor quality beverages and food is no the best. The Italian restaurant is really good. They offered me very insistently in buying a membership for getting a better price product name is "vacations for life", I denied of course, I got angry when I realized they have 'better' rooms when you have the membership it means the public will always get a poor and old room. During night they perform a live music show and a there's a bar near by the lobby but ... Read more

Do not waste your time using the Park Royal in Ixtapa. The poorest service I have ever encountered. you had to get your own stuff when you sat at the pool or the beach, and they did not always have what you wanted at the bar (like diet coke) and you had to travel to the restaurant and other places to find some. No bottled water. The buffet at supper time was cold. It was unfortunate because the people that worked there tried their best but the hotel had cut staff to the point it affected service... They have done renovations to the main lobby but the rest of the hotel is very tired! The pool is in pretty rough shape, lots of missing tiles. The food is good but not much variety of restaurants. The staff are great and the best part of the resort.

If you are looking for family friendly, THIS is your hotel. But if you are looking for relaxation, DON'T come here. Food variety is ehhh, Royal reps need to be schooled on customer service ettiquette. Some are very rude, which was my experience.
