Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a romantic supper on Secrets, Huatulco beach. Food- service & ambience was perfect. Thank you to Isabel Medrano Angeles, concierge, who ensued our stay very memorable & special. April 23-30 was our our fifth stay at Secrets Huatulco - Hot..Hot.. Hot.. Loved it ! Thanks to Jorge, the life guard who is diligently on the beach making sure we were informed of the ocean conditions. Oli, at pool bar makes, by far, the best " Long Island " I've ever h... Read more

My wife and I were guests of Secrets Huatulco in early May. We have stayed in six other Secrets resorts - most multiple times. We enjoyed Huatulco so much that we already booked to come back again this year. Our visit was during low occupancy season. The experience changes slightly which was acceptable to us. There were never more than 3-4 restaurants open at a time in the evenings, but also we never had to wait. If you are counting on building 5 swim outs in May-June check with manageme... Read more

We got back from Secrets Huatulco a week ago, and it was a great stay. Before we left, I read other people's reviews and here is what I will say... 1) English - Most of the staff speak English, but you will find that a lot of Mexicans vacation in Huatulco, which means that there is a lot of Spanish spoken here. There may be times when you feel out of place, but it is not because of the staff. 2) Our room was great! All of the rooms have views, and it was a beautiful view. 3) Ocean - The oce... Read more

Nice place but, it falls short of the experiences we have enjoyed at other Secrets resorts. We have been lucky enough to visit the Marquis Los Cabos (2013) and the Capri in 2014 and again in 2015. The resort is quite beautiful and new. We experienced no issues with our suite. Minor issue with the fridge in the room not being very effective but, we found some ice and could chill down a beer quickly. Rooms and common areas are well maintained and very clean. Excellent for celebrating our 20th anniversary. All personnel were very kind. Food in every restaurant were great. There is not another hotel on the bay. Every night we were surprised with rose petals in our bed. If your looking for a very quiet place to celebrate your anniversary this is the place. Fantastic !

In general it was an awful experience, nothing compared to the one in Vallarta. The restaurants were closed, schedules changed without any notice, not enough AC ... and the canadian girl from staff hitting on my boyfriend making it akward for both of us; horrible situation trying to get her out of our hair. Vladimir way too rude and annoying. Food was not the best in the restaurants, not really much going on at the disco, the music was bad... I would not go back, specially uncomfortable with the... We loved our stay at this resort. The restaurants were good, our favorite was the seafood one. The service was excellent and there was never a no from staff. Breakfast buffet' omelette and tacos are a most, the guajaca cheese was great. We had a great room with private pool access, the room was clean and minibar stocked constantly. My favorite cocktail was the coconut martini. The atmosphere was very low key and relaxing.

It's a hotel that actually shows off the Diamond level that has earned. Excellent facilities, awesome food and the finest service from all the crew. Bar service and beverages could be improved to be at the hotel level, but nothing to regret. Don't forget to go to the 2nd floor and look for Adventure Photos stand and ask for Ana. She made from our photo session the best part of our trip and a memory to keep forever. Definitely, Secrets will be my very first option to travel without kids. ... Read more

My husband and I actually stayed back in May of 2015. I only just now remembered that I hadn't reviewed this place! I didn't think it would be fair if I didn't give these people recognition for the phenomenal job. We loved Adelaida at Market Cafe for Breakfast. She would find us some baileys for our coffee every morning and was always so sweet and friendly. The style of the hotel was very modern, chic, open concept and clean which my boyfriend and I loved. The food was delicious and the service from the employees were top notch. The best part of this hotel was that every room is ocean view so you will not be disappointed. It was never an issue to find chairs by the pool and we really appreciated that you didn't need towel cards which always annoyed me at other resorts so it was nice not to have to worry about that... We stayed at Secrets Huatulco at end of Apri, beginning of May this year. I think we were actually the last week of Canadian tourists before the charters stopped. We liked the resort but mainly because we got a smoking deal on it. But while we were there I kept wondering what kind of review I would give if we had paid the regular price for a week at Secrets. Never had to make a reservation for the other restaurants and could frequent them more than once. Service was great. Felt very safe here and did go downtown via taxi. All was good . We had a great time at Secrets in Huatulco! This was our first time at a Secrets resort and we loved it! Our stay at Secrets Huatulco was fantastic. The accommodations were great and the juxtaposition of sea, sand, mountains and the resort was incredible. But the best part and most enduring recollection of our stay was the Huatulco staff that that was always attentive, always accommodating and always showed a warm smile towards us. From Neyra and Miguel (Concierges) to Manuel (Maitre D) to the maintenance staff who fixed our A/C at 10 pm, everyone made us feel at home. Many thanks to them.

The town is safe, very pretty and one of the cleanest cities we have seen anywhere. We will visit again! We were in building 5. Room was decorated every day with rose petals. Our friends Mr. & Mrs. Vessels invited us to their vacation club for 6 days along with 6 additional couples. We were invited to attend a meeting regarding club. I was very apprehensive with process of the trip and imagined the process being a nightmare to coordinated. Jordy Machaen contacted me and the process was so seamless. He communicated very well and was very pleasant during all our calls. Jordy has proven to have exceptional customer service skills and I feel super confident to refer... Read more

This hotel is a nice one in Huatulco, but far from a 4-5 star hotel. It is a level or two below other Secrets properties in terms of the room itself, the food and the overall layout. The beach is actually pretty nice, with great service from the staff. My main complaint is that there is narrow opening that goes from floor to ceiling right next to the room door, which is basically an opening to the adjacent room. We could hear every word the neightbors said, knew exactly when they went to the... Read more

I highly recommend this place for couples , the location , the water , the food and the staff were great ,one of our favourite places in Mexico if not the favourite , the ocean is super warm , warmer than the pools and they were very warm , the accommodations were great the restaurants were so good and the staff were soooo helpful and accommodating , I want to say especial tkns for the water sports staff Neftali and Vladimir , Leo on the bar at Barefoot and Adelain on the buffet for taking ca... Only complaint was that Castaways was never open for dinner. With such a beautiful view of the bay, it should definitely be open being a grill restaurant. We could never get a reservation at Spice for the open grill dinner. The hotel was only 60% occupied.

I agree with most user that have rated this hotel with 5 stars. It is truly lovely, excellent design, the bay is beautiful even is a bit far from the town. Staff is professional. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that we had some disappointments with the staff at check in, too slow and always trying to sell you stuff like spa or time share breakfast, it bothers me. Also I tried to make a reservation to Spice restaurant but no one was available and after a 10 minute wait, I left. Restauran... Read more

Just spent a wonderful 10 days with my wife, family and friends. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, this is what customer experience is all about. Food was fantastic, resort clean and comfortable. The only downfall to this resort was the Beach, not swimmable for the most part but the pools were excellent. The area reminded us of Ixtapa but smaller. Not a lot of night life but if you need to get away for a relaxing holiday? This is the place to go. No wrist bands, no reservations, no wa... Read more

This truly is a classy resort. The food and staff were awesome. The only drawback is the high pressure sale right when you check in to listen to a 90 minute presentation which I assumed had to do with a time share. The guys name was Osiris who was trying to get us to attend when we kept telling him we didn't come here to spend our time listening to the presentation. Needless to say we were caught off guard so just beware if you came to relax make sure you tell them upon check in that your no... Read more

Jordy Machaen made all the arrangements for us and did an outstanding job. He took care of it all, plus he went the extra mile to make sure we were properly taken care of by keeping in contact with us through out the process. Secrets Huatulco Resort was the best that we've ever been on, and we've been to Bora Bora, Hawaii, and other tropical resorts. All inclusive trips are the way to go, you don't have to worry about how much anything cost or where to go for dinner if you're on a budget. The s... Read more

A short drive from Huatulco airport, this all inclusive resort is truly a little bit of paradise. Greeted at check in with a drink, we were directed to our room and our luggage was delivered just a few minutes later. We explored the resort before enjoying some late lunch from the huge variety of options from the buffet restaurant. We then headed to the pool and relaxed with a drink. There is a casual dress code for most resaurants in the evening but nothing too formal is required. The choices ... Read more

This was my second visit to Secrets Huatulco. As I noticed on my first visit, some things at this resort are not quite as polished as at other Secrets properties. There were no slippers or incense in the room. Some staff struggle a bit with their English. But there's something about Huatulco that just makes those little things fade away. It is an overwhelmingly beautiful area and the staff are welcoming. Wifi at this property has improved greatly. We had great service on our room as well as dow... Read more

This is definitely the best place resort in Huatulco. Amazing views and great service from the staff. All rooms have ocean views but if you are on the ground floor you may not get a great ocean view. We were in building 5 closest to the pools/beach and that was very handy. My only minor issue with the room would be the glass enclosure around the toilet. Really? Who the heck wants a semi-see thru glass wall around their toilet? The beds were decent but not fantastic. Housekeeping did a n... Read more

Great place to go to disconnect and rest! Love that there are yoga classes and everything for adults l, it is not crowded so the attention is really personalized. Fully recommend you to go there with friends or significant other you will have great time. I just have to say that the issue is with the aquatic activities that is really a mess to reserve and the guys who are at the beach are rude and not service oriented.

Checked into the resort on October 27th through the preferred club using the concierge, Miguel - swim out room ! Fantastic adventure at an amazing resort. Can't say enough wonderful things about this resort, restaurants are out of this world, and service is tremendous. Miguel was so helpful and knowledgeable about our every need. Going through the preferred club gives you an edge I do believe. Esmeralda worked as the hostess in the preferred club in the afternoon/evenings and she was so swee... Read more

We were three couples travelling together and all were very impressed by our rooms, all of which had a great ocean view. We all had rooms higher up in the hotel and very much preferred our views to those down at the poolside near the swim up bar. Facilities were very clean and staff excellent and cheerful. Food was generally very good but not quite as high end as we have had with other 5* resorts, i.e. never once saw scallops or lobster on the menu in any of the restaurants. For a resort with su... My wife and I spent two weeks in November 2016 in this resort, visiting Huatulco first time ever after 15 years spent in Mayan Riviera and other Caribbean ilands. What a nice place! The resort is new (only 4 years old) and well designed to accommodate for big elevation differences. The elevators solve the problem to get from the uphill restaurants down to the beach. Ocean view is stunning and available from any room in this resort. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is super friendly... Read more

From a cosmetic view it is spectacular . The rooms are great , the service is very good BUT the food is below average and there is a huge mosquito problem . I was there from Nov. 12 - 19 and myself and the group that I was with were eaten alive . Some in our group had in excess of 100 mosquito bites and we met people with 200+ . There has to be a way of controlling these pests but the resort is not doing it effectively . Big problem if mosquitos like your blood type or if you have Zika concerns ... Read more

My fiance and I stayed at Secrets Huatulco last week for a one week stay. We flew with WestJet which I highly recommend! I haven't had that much leg room in a long time! We were in a regular seat too. Huatulco is absolutely beautiful! The hotel is set on a huge bay all on its own. If you like nature you will love this place! The weather couldn't have been better. Sunny and very HOT every single day we were there! No need for any sweaters or jackets! We were in building 5 on the second floor.... Read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful our getaway was. My husband and I went on our first getaway together in many years and it was amazing! I will definitely go to a Secrets resort in the future. The restaurants were elegant and food was great. The 24 hour room service was awesome. Especially the "secret door".

Travelled mid-November 2016. As most reviews state the hotel is beautiful. The area is amazing compared to the flat mangroves in the Riviera Maya. Having stayed at Secrets Silversands and Capri, this is on par with your expectations of a Secrets chain. Food, drink, hospitality are all excellent. Do not look at the weather forecasts as they reference about 5km (3miles) inland which is in the mountains and is always raining - the resort area has on average only 50 days on rain per year - we saw 7 ...
