My husband and I stayed here one night on our way to San Miguel de Allende. At first glance, the hotel is an unassuming structure behind a gate, but once inside, it's a beautiful Mexican style historic villa. Large corridors with grand arches lead you to the serene courtyard where you can eat breakfast or just relax. Unfortunately while we were there, a very large building next door was under construction, so there was a considerable amount of noise. Aside from that, the room we stayed in was ve... Read more

A really lovely charming hotel. The candles lite at night throughout the hotel and garden were just beautiful!! The staff was so friendly and kind and willing to go out of their way to make sure you were having a great time. A special thank you to Armando for all his help before I arrived and during my stay, Make sure he makes you one of his Margarita's, delicious!!!. Wonderful location to restaurant's and the Zona Rosa district. Can wait to go back!!

We looked forward to staying at this premium priced, highly rated hotel. Beware! It is located in a busy and noisy construction area! The room was lovely, but the air conditioning did not work properly, and the wake up call was hammering and grinding sounds. The price did not justify the terrible noise, dust, and hot room, so we checked out after one night of four. After discussing the issues with the hotel manager, he admitted the noise was loud and the AC was bad, while telling us we neede... Read more

Three nights here enabled us to visit Centro (walking distance..15 min) and Tonala and Tlaquepaque on a tour arranged by the hotel. From beginning to end our stay was a wonderful experience and the owners/staff could not have been more helpful. We had the continental breakfast each day outside in the garden and ordered french toast and omelets as a supplement; lunch one day which was excellent and wine and cheese two nights. The whole dining experience was wonderful. We stayed in a suite which... Read more

My husband and I reserved a Grand Master Suite overlooking the Gardens, it was wonderful. Everything about this lovely establishment is fantastic, the look, the feel, just everything, especially the staff. From the moment we stepped in they offered drinks, snacks etc. Our suite was a two room, entrance room with small balcony and bedroom, very spacious. The bags were taken up the beautiful candle laden staircase and as our door was opened there awaited wine and fruit, nice touch. The garden is ... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights and found it to be an ideal base for exploring Guadalajara. Hotel itself is full of character i.e. colonial in style so different to some of the other design/chain hotels in the area with very friendly & helpful staff with a unique garden setting with some nice touches such as complimentary wine & nibbles during the evening. It's located in the Lafayette area so within a 5 min walk there are a lot of choices for bars, easy bites, 7-11 etc. For places further afield hotel... Read more

I knew that we were in for something special when I made my reservations for the Grand Master Suite at Villa Ganz. What I didn't know was just how special it would be until we arrived. The whole experience was as though we were special guests at a grand old villa, rather than at a hotel in a large metropolitan city. Registration took less than two minutes, and then we were shown to our suite at the top of the stairs that must have been the personal suite of the original owner. It was large, beau... Read more

This was our first trip to Guadalajara and Vill Ganz was recommended by a friend. What a treat! Gracious staff, comfortable rooms, great service describes Villa Ganz. It will be even better when the construction next door is completed - very noisy on the patio/garden.

We stayed in a "Grand Master Suite" and it was fantastic. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Private, and very quiet, with a view of the courtyard. The in-room hammock was a nice touch. We were able to park our rental car right out front, which was very convenient. The location was perfect for our needs -- easy walk to lots of great restaurants. The staff were very helpful on numerous occasions. Highly recommended!

A unique property with interesting rooms yet modern amenities. Great common rooms and back gardens in an old villa. Excellent service and a close walk to restaurants, shops and Chapultepec area. Good breakfast. An urban charm. Only current drawback is some construction next door.

From the minute I made a reservation to the minute I left the hotel, the attention to detail and service by the staff was top notch. The hotel, rooms and grounds are beautiful, but I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff. I only wish we could have stayed at Villa Ganz longer than our trip allowed. I recommend this hotel to anyone -- especially first time visitors to Guadalajara. You will not be disappointed.

We were vacationing at Puerta Vallarta and planned a 3 night excursion to Guadalajara. The Villa Ganz is elegant and we lived relaxing here after our days of sight seeing and shopping. The hotel staff are warm and treat you like their best friends. They helped us by connecting us to a private tour guide, Javier, who was very knowledgeable about the art and history. We spent 4 hours touring one day and then another 4 hours the following day for shopping in Tonala and Tlaquepaque. He showed us th... Read more

With only twelve rooms, you really get that personal touch so important to some travelers. The rooms are spacious, the beds disturbingly large and comfortable, a great veranda and yard area to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at (or just relax in), and a super friendly house cat to boot. During our three day stay, we got to meet people from France, Spain and Cuba as well as fellow Americans, and so close to "the action" on Avenue Chapultepec.

Wonderful place to stay in Guadalajara! Staff is super friendly and accommodating to requests. They had our room ready even though we arrived earlier than expected. Armando was extremely helpful in checking us in, recommending places to eat, and setting us up for a half day tour of Guadalajara. Total is close to many restaurants. The only reason for the 4 of 5 stars was our A/C starting leaking the in the middle of night of our final night. Had to turn it off and go with just the ceiling fan... Read more

Villa Ganz is a beautiful respite after a day's outing. The Old World architecture was inviting and comforting. Ive can't say enough about our 4 night stay. Armando was very pampering, offering us wine upon our arrival each day. He arranged a driver for a day trip to Tequila and made reservations at fantastic restaurants. Their complimentary breakfast wasn't contained to a specific time...just we we were able to awake and feel hungry. Loved and adored Guadalajara and when we go back, we will boo... Read more

What could count more that telling you I would return at any time? I do not see why some reviews say the rooms are rather small ?! The rooms are very special , clean , well equipped. We felt welcome and treated like special guests ! They organized good drivers - perfect travel guides - took care of the check in! The atmosphere in the house and the garden and patio is exceptional. My wife and I along with members of both families booked the hotel from October 13th through the 18th to attend our son's wedding in Guadalajara. The hotel was perfect for our situation because we were able to meet every morning for breakfast and plan our day. The staff spoke very good English and the service was excellent. Excellent from arrival to departure. The pictures you've surely seen already tell part of the story. The staff really does a first class job at making you feel at home. Going well beyond the call of duty, they are sincerely interested in helping make your trip the best it can, in and out of the hotel. That construction noise you may have read about was not a bother at all. The garden is charming and relaxing. All the rooms I had a chance to see were beautiful. Highly recommended.

Went to Guadalajara for a family member's wedding and we booked the entire hotel/villa. It's a lovely space and the staff is superb. The location makes it easy to grab an uber and get wherever you need, and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. I will not make a trip back to the city without staying at Villa Ganz. Do pay attention to the property details, this is a converted house, and as such does not have an elevator, gym, nor pool onsite. The courtyard is wonderful for eating breakfast a... Read more

The staff was beyond anything we would have expected....friendly, helpful with all our travel arrangements and breakfast was perfect. Villa Ganz is one of those amazing, feels-like-a-secret places right in the middle of Guadalajara. Even taxi drivers don't know about it! But it is a gem--a beautifully restored colonial home on a quiet street with the most kind, friendly and helpful staff one could hope for. The rooms are well-appointed with hairdryer, washcloths, bath mat, and robes, e.g. in the bathroom--which are often not present in other hotels in Mexico. Location is a 6 out of 5 Service is a 6 out of 5 Value is a 6 out of 5 5 in our group (used 3 rooms) and delighted to have our "own table" in the beautiful garden and courtyard where we could take breakfast and order in an amazing italian meal from a nearby restaurant that the Villa Ganz staff served for us with the utmost care (better than restaurant service by a mile). We also had cocktails in the courtyard by the fire - perfect for the cool evenings.
