I have to say right off that the staff here was very friendly and helpful. I have stayed at other Intercontinental Hotels around the world and have never had an issue changing a small amount of US currency for local until I could get to an ATM. I was told that they don't do that here. The exchange places across the street in the strip mall are not easy to spot and vary on rates. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. I was on a higher level floor and my stay was quiet for the most part ev... Read more

In general very good, location pretty good. Personel is very cordial. Beds and bedwear are great. Food is very nice. If I can suggest something I would say that the gym has very few free weights so that if there are 2 guests, you cannot workout. There are two splits for air-conditioning that are insufficient for the hot weather we had

This hotel is greatly located, with terrific facilities, such as a great gym and an inside pool. The amenities inside room are fantastic, such as the iron board, with works greatly for those of us who need to attend meetings. Great breakfast, such as great as from Fiesta Americana Minerva, making it a little more welcoming. Great view from the heliport and hotel room.

Room was a suite but nicer than any intercontinental we've visited in the US. Friendly staff, safe, plenty of amenities. Great views from higher floors. Wish we could spend more time here and we'll be back.

Amazing experience during my visit in GDL, right pickup from airport to Hotel and entire stay and dropping back to airport. Marvelous view from my room to outside of crown plaza hotel. Very professional staff and even room service. I visited GDL in Dec, 2013, as I could not see the option of the year in the drop down.

The room was not up to standard! not a 4 star Hotel!! The night stand, table, phone, windows overall the room was filthy!! the room had a weird smell like old dirty smell. and to top it, the waiters at the Urban Restaurant demand tips! I got there to get breakfast early morning, as I just requested coffee, I received an emergency phone call that required me to step out to the lobby to hear better; my grandmother just had a stroke! which she is the reason of my trip. The waiter interrupted me say... Read more

The Presidente is in a great location, easy to walk to shops and restaurants and a quick uber ride to some of the best restaurants in the city. It seems like the hotel was very recently updated. The decor was modern and new. The hotel itself was great, the beds are a bit on the firm side, but I like that, so I slept incredibly well, but if you don't like firm beds, you might be happy about that. The elevators are a bit slow, but that's nitpicking.

Being a IHG member this is my most frequently visited hotel!! I have stayed here 4 time in last 2 years and my experience is great!! I book a base room and being IHG member always upgrade to club room!! the club rooms on 23 rd floor have amazing view with excellent bath tub,, The club room residents can also enjoy complementary drinks at club lounge on ground floor also the breakfast for them is also served there. Although the breakfast at normal lobby restaurant is much better than club lounge.

This is a nice, large hotel near the centre of town and within a few minutes drive from the Expo Centre. There is a large shopping mall opposite and many restaurants around. The staff were excellent and my room was fine. The hotel dining room was good, offering a variety of dishes, not all Mexican. Unfortunately, smokers were banished outside, to an area without seating but with overhead cover.

We only stay overnight at this hotel and location is not in Centro Historico but opposite big outdoor mall which you can find many restaurants. Room isn't spacious as standard Intercontinental but they are comfy and with two double beds. We did't try the breakfast because we found better place to enjoy our breakfast buffet at the mall. As I mentioned in my headlines, rate is lowest Intercontinental I've ever stayed.

I recently stayed at this hotel during a business trip to Mexico. The hotel is very nice with some good restaurants. We had dinner in Cafe Urbano which was nice. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The hotel was at 100% occupancy and you would have not known.

I enjoyed my business stay at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was my favorite. To be honest, the food in Mexico sits heavy on my stomach; Cafe Urbano was a blessing for my intestines. Thank you to Dulce for my delish egg white scrambles in the morning, and that green salsa is amazing. And thank you to Oscar for his service. Everyone was lovely and made my stay that much more comfortable. I have 2 reasons why I didn't give it a perfect score: more weights in the gym and faster elevators. The gym... Read more

Came back (6 years later) based on previous great experience. Location is reasonable good (specially if attending a show in Guadalajara Expo). Staff is great! The hotel has been updated since my last trip. Now a nicer cafeteria, new french restaurant and updated lobby bar are part of the welcoming package. Rooms are nice (area and confront) and bathrooms are exactly what you need when traveling for too long. The only downsize was that 2 (of 4) elevators were down due to service, which combined w... Interesting property. The hotel feels somewhat dated, but has a lot going for it. The Staff is great. Some had trouble with English. I had trouble with Spanish. But we both got ourselves understood. Having said that, everyone worked hard to make sure that I had a good visit. I really appreciate their efforts and would happily stay again. As an Amabassadors Club member i was upgraded to a great room (Room 731). Great size, lots of windows. Fantastic bathroom with lots of light. Balco... Read more

The room style was modern, comfortable, and nice looking. My major issue with it was for 2 different mornings, there was no hot water so I ended up taking a cold shower one day and skipped the morning shower the other day. I don't know if this is because the hotel is old or I just had very bad luck. The hotel gave me a small dessert to apologize which was a nice gesture but really impacted my stay in a negative way. Also the communication on when the issue would be fixed wasn't good as they didn... Read more

Over the course of the last 8 years I've stayed multiple times in this hotel. I used to love it. I felt at home and cared for. Yes some of the rooms need a refresh, but in general it was outstanding for comfort, cleanliness, service, and food taste. After my last visit in sept 2016 I was floored. The restaurant was replaced by a pretentious "French" bistro which did not appeal to me. The wonderful buffet was redone = the food space was reduced in half, the honest food was replaced by pretentio... Read more

It's been four years that I have been staying at this property (in fact, it was the first place I ever stayed in when I moved to Mexico) and it almost feels like home now. The check in is always smooth, I mostly always get an upgrade to my room, the Tequila bar is excellent and having a drink there or entertaining guests is like doing it at my own bar at home. The french restaurant is excellent. But most of all the team at the hotel makes you feel a home and shall always go the extra mile. In ... Read more

Good hotel, with good restaurants (very good the french one) and a good staff but some details was not good to have after a busy days. 1. all the times you need an elevator it took a lot of time for it appear. (they have 4 elevators but just 2 are used to go up) 2. if your room is near to the elevator you will hear a lot of noise during all night. Beside that .... they should have more amenities to you, as one bottle of water for free what is normal in these type of hotel, but not at this one... Read more

The rooms were clean and modern and quiet despite the hotel being seemingly full or nearly full. We will stay at the Presidente again.

Very well located in Lopez Mateos, just across the street of Plaza del Sol, this is an old hotel (mid 80s) but which rooms have been remodeled to be modern and spacious. I enjoyed my stay, but drainage for the shower was blocked, so I did not enjoy my bath as I would wanted (the shower floor is rough granite, which I love it !). The door also need a small tweak in order to seal perfectly. Compared with the hilton it has the upper hand.

We attended a convention at the hotel and spent four nights there. The rooms were perfect for our stay. The beds were comfortable. Nice shower in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone - fruit, juices, at least 5 hot dishes, cereals, cheeses and the woman at the grill who would cook omelettes or any other kind of eggs you wanted. There was a large selection of Mexican 'pan dulce'. Very convenient. The meeting rooms were on the main level - with one very big one, several b... Read more

My wife and I stayed at the Presidente for a long weekend while in Guadalajara recently and it was everything that we could have asked for in a place to stay. Due to the overwhelming traffic issue in Guadalajara in general, there is probably no place that is really great location-wise as everything will take forever to get to no matter where you stay. So the Presidente is just as good as anywhere else, and maybe gets a bonus for having a rather large shopping mall across the street that makes i... Read more

I spent a week at this hotel and was impressed with the common areas of the building, such as the lobby, the shopping areas and the restaurant. The service level was also really good, but then again this is what I would expect from an Intercontinental hotel. Location is great, being on one of the main highways and just across the street from one of the most popular shopping centers. The low note of the experience had to do with the rooms: they're old and apparently their maintenance department ... Read more

So so worth it to stay here. My family and I were not disappointed at all. We had a king size bed and they brought us a roll away bed for my son plus a crib for our baby and we still had enough room. Great service!!! We bought a package that included breakfast every morning and it was worth it because of our kids. The room was clean and modern. Lobby was very nice. I'm staying here again!!!!!!
