We stayed here 2 nights as part of a weekend tour of Guadalajara with Superior Tours of Puerto Vallarta. They chose this hotel as a starting point for the walking tour of the historic part of Guadalajara. It is actually a good 20-30 minute walk from the hotel to the old part of the city where all the squares, churches, city hall, etc. are located. The hotel itself is fairly old although not in a traditional colonial style of old like you see in many Mexican cities/towns. The rooms look more like... Read more

Did a tour to Guadalajara from Puerto Vallarta.Very scenic bus ride.Went to Tlaquepaque first.Cleanest city I've ever been to. Don't litter or u will be prosecuted. Then off to hotel check in at Hotel Cervantes. This is an older hotel. Its not terrible but it's also not a 5 star.Restaurant has great prices and has great food.Huge flea market is about 20 minute walk.Horse and carriage ride very close.Worth going on that.Keep in mind that Guadalajara is an old city and with tons of people and sites.B... This Hotel in centrally located and very convenient. The rooms are simple yet well maintained and very affordable. Wifi does not seem to have a strong signal during many of my visits but it works and its free. The staff at the front desk is always happy to welcome me back and is very attentive to my needs and desires. The restaurant is better than average but a little pricey for my tastes. All in all a good experience with a terrific location.

We stayed here while on a tour with Superior Tours Vallarta, which is reviewed elsewhere on Trip Advisor. I read reviews before going and requested the 5th floor not near the elevator nor overlooking the alley. I made these requests directly with the hotel. Our requests were made. However, as reported elsewhere this hotel needs upgrading to the 21st century ......although clean....the bathrooms in 508 & 509 were disgusting. Some chose not to take a shower at all. Understand they were NOT dir... Read more

Highly disappointed with Hotel Cervantes. I was not expecting anything fancy or 5 star service, but this hotel left lots to be desired. Pros: Price Central location Spacious public areas nicely decorated, comfortable & clean Cons: Unfriendly and unprofessional staff. They acted as if checking you in was a favor rather than their job. I had pre-paid & when I tried to check in they claimed not to find the reservation and insisted i repay. Poor manners and english skills The room I got on the 3rd... Read more
