If you are looking for a hotel where you expect to have a good place to sleep and a to have a good service, please, do not choose this hotel. We stayed two days here (in different rooms) without knowing that there are more than two different kind of services to get hosted, naturally, with an increased rate. Due a big family group travelled for an special event there (wedding), we had to chance to visit some areas which belong to the Secrets Aura Cozumel (more value adds and price), but both shar... This was our first stay at an all-inclusive and it was a wonderful experience! The staff were SO NICE and friendly. The food was great, and the beach was so relaxing. We will definitely be going back again (hopefully next year!). The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great! Our bathroom was damp and musty but that goes along with being in a hot, humid location with slatted windows (in the bathroom only). The beach is nice but it's not a walk-in. There ar... Read more

The service and the staff at the hotel were great. The food was acceptable and typical fair at an all inclusive. The view was phenomenal (Sunsets were unbelievable) and the beaches were very nice with the exception of being a bit rocky and jagged, definitely need water socks. Unfortunately the room was sub par, the power would go out frequently and the decor was outdated and dilapidated, definitely needed some remodeling to bring up to par. We recently returned from a group vacation to Cozumel where we stayed at Sunscape Sabor. First things first, this resort is located approximately 15 km from the airport/city. The lobby and grounds are welcoming and appear well kept. Most of our group experienced mix ups in our requested bed preferences for our rooms. While our room had a nice view, it smelled musty, the floor was dirty, and the air conditioner leaked (but was fixed upon request). Wifi is only free in the lobby, otherwise it... Read more

We stayed May 6 thru the 14 and once again we had a great time. The beach and snorkeling were great again. So many fish right there. I was sitting in the water about 2 feet out and a 16 inch barracuda was feeding right by me. We saw crabs, an eel, stingray, several differant angel fish and many many others. Make sure you swim under the docks, the fish like to stay in there. We got upgraded to a suite with the hot tub. Never did use it since we were on the first floor. But the extra room was ver... Let's start with check-in. You better have patience, two people, very slow. 45 minutes and was 4th in line. I had to wait until 3 before room was ready, no problem. Was shown to room at 3:15, been up 36 hours needed sleep. Next day I went to desk to inform them my room was not correct, I paid for a suite. OOPS I was wrong. Went to Amstar rep no help at all. I was told to come back next day after 11:00. I talked to a lady that evening at the desk she said I was definitely in wrong room type... Read more

We were coming to Cozumel as first timers and have fallen in love with this island. Sunscape Sabor is close enough to town to not be an arm and a leg for a taxi there but far enough away to feel completely secluded. We have been pampered and taken care of completely and we cannot wait to come back!! Delicious food, excellent drinks, and superb staff!! Viva la Mexico!

My wife and I just got back from Sunscape Sabor and were very impressed with the staff and service during our 4 night stay. Here are just a few of the pros we experienced during our stay: 1. The Mexican Dinner on the beach was great! 2. Get Rico to pour your drinks at the swing bar;) 3. Snorkeling off the beach is great and if you want to see even more types of fish go snorkeling down by the pier by the neighboring sister resort Secrets. 4. We read varying reviews from great to poor and were determined to have fun no matter what. Overall it was wonderful. We did have 3 days of rain and colder weather which was quite disappointing. The weather was wonderful the rest of the trip. The best things about this resort are the people who are very friendly and warm, the beach which was lovely and the fact that it is a gated resort. It is true that the rooms are small and in need of some update but they are clean and who spends much time... Read more

I was actually just at Sunscape, had 9 day 8 night trip and it was actually pretty good for the cheap price. There were faults in the resort such as, long waits for dinner, not enough restaurants, some of the air conditioners went out. But the maintenance was spot on, as soon as we called to get it fixed they were out there and had it fixed in 20 minutes. The entertainment team was amazing Juan Pablo and Francisco were fabulous, I wanted to all activities because they just had a way of making ev... Read more

My husband and I spent 5 days at Sunscape Sabor in June 2016. The property is great for the cost. The staff was outstanding. The property was clean, safe and generally well-maintained. I have been to Mexico more times than I can count, and this has been BY FAR the best trip I have taken to not just Mexico, but everywhere. The food was amazing. I see a lot of reviews about Sunscape having poor , inedible, food. But I found it quite enjoyable. There is a nice Seaside Grill for the day that sits right by the pool that has just about everything snack wise thing you could want. The Mexican restaurant has THE BEST fish ever. We usually try to visit different locations in Cozumel when we are on a cruise - this time we decided to try a day pass at Sunscape Sabor because there was a dive shop that was to be close or nearby the resort so my husband could take a quick dive trip. We docked at Puerta Maya and took a cab to Sunscape. It's near San Fransciso beach so it took 10-15 minutes to get there, not too far from the port. If you after nice beach, spacious rooms, good food and love snorkelling - it is a place for you. There are 5 restaurants and I would also advise to have some food, especially breakfast at the Market Cafe (sorry, adults only). This place belong to the hotel next door, which is 5 stars, but you can use it. The breakfast is much better than in the other place. Try Sea Grill as well as well as they do serve amazing steaks.

We stayed at Subscape Sabor for our 3rd trip to Cozumel in July. We are divers and frequent travelers. Having stayed at 2 other all inclusive resorts fairly recently, we have some relevant comparisons. Sunscape Sabor is a moderately priced all-inclusive resort. We were scheduled to check into the Sunscape Sabor for a 5 day getaway ( from the kids and the hustle and bustle of getting them from place to place ) to enjoy some down time and be adult kids ourselves for a few days. Our destiny was set when we walked up to the counter and met Mily! Mily asked how we were and what we were hoping for on vacation. After pleasant conversation about the 7 children and 1 grandchild we had between us, Mily looked up at the pool adjacent to the lobby, and quickly ... Read more

This place is awesome. The employees are all great. Nonstop service from the whole staff. Even housekeeping goes out of their way to give you personalized service. I asked a guy where I could get ice. he didn't tell me where to go, he walked me to the location and got the ice for me. This guy was on his way to something else and put that on hold to help me out.

Nice hotel, located on the outskirts of the main city of Cozumel, which can provide for relaxation time. Staff is definitely friendly and helpful in any event. The three restaurant provide average food on general. Better off renting a car and exploring the surroundings for a more festive menu.

This was our 3rd visit here and expected much better customer service than we received. Upon arrival our room that had been paid for for months was rented to someone else, so they offered a 1 night upgrade but expected us to move and be displaced without a room for 3+ hours the next day. That is not good customer service, especially to customers that are repeat visitors. It seemed to be a hassle to get the mini fridge restocked. Next, They were remodeling the breakfast area so there was minimal... Read more

First, for an all inclusive hotel, the rates at Sunscape Sabor were extremely affordable IMO. We paid as much than or less than some US airport hotels with no food or services. So, to be on a beautiful beach in Cozumel with food and drinks included, super nice staff, well-kept ground, and so near some of the best diving, I would say that this hotel is a GREAT value! -Buffet food, mexican food---A+. I found the food here to be really good and flavorful especially if you stayed with indigenous pi... Read more

My wife and I have stayed at the Sabor 16 times in the last 4 years. Beach front location, nice rooms, casual friendly atmosphere and great staff that makes us feel like we are at our home. We have shared the Sabor with many of our friends and our kids and grandchildren. They all love it. When we arrive Jaun Carlos greets us and gets our luggage to our room. Not all were open at the same time but we had a chance to try most of them. I have to say El Mario was our favorite the pasta was amazing some in our group had the pizza and really liked that too. this resort was certainly not up to Dreams resorts standards. The rooms were old and needed upgrading. They were in the middle of upgrading during our trip....lots of construction noises. The room was basic, nothing special...no ceiling fan. Housekeeping was terrible...inconsistent replenishment of towels and water bottles. They never re-filled the mini-fridge the entire time we were there. For the price we paid, it was fine for us but I would not have paid more. A la carte restaurants wer... Read more

I really hate to do this. We booked a great vacation. They sold us on a nice romantic dinner in the wine cave. We agreed but the communication between the front desk and the staff was terrible. So while we had a nice dinner we were not given the package we paid for. The hotel decided to scam us over $70. So very sad that they would rather loose a customer over $70. It's been over a year since our stay, but I still feel like it's necessary to write this review. The food was just average. A cellphone and all of our credit cards were stolen from the room while we were out for the evening. The staff at the hotel did nothing other than tear apart our rooms looking for the missing items. My friend, Bertie and I chose this resort based on reviews of the beach, snorkeling and the facilities. I spent several weeks combing through tripadvisor reviews of this and similar resorts. I'm happy we chose Sunscape Sabor. Initially, we had an issue with our room: the sliding glass door didn't lock. We were assigned to a new room right away that was much nicer. No problem. We spent a week at the Sabor recently in the honeymoon suite (free upgrade). The room/suite was plain, but large and always clean. The staff works very hard to maintain the grounds (pools, beach, trees, etc.) and has a friendly attitude.
