El Cozumeleno was a wonderful surprise!! Everyone from the bellstaff, front desk, room attendants, and food service was EXCELLANT! We were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday and everyone made her feel very special. The beach is the best there with a safe area to snorkel. The food was plentiful and very tasty. We will definitely return! Thank youto Rachel, Oliver - FOM, Sergio and Javier in food service and Hector - bellstaff.

This is the fourth year I have visited El Cozumeleno. This year there were a few changes. For years people have complained about the buffet food at the restaurant. This year for the twelve days I was there, we were served a la carte for all but one meal. The one meal that was served buffet style was a mini buffet. I'm not sure if the reason for this change was due to the low occupancy at the time, or just a general change in the way meals are served. We were told that the occupancy was about... Read more

We went over spring break. They are located north of downtown and the airport. It's a short taxi ride to both. You can walk to downtown, but it's a bit of a walk. Plus the path that is in front of the resort is paved. It's mixed with some shade to full on sun. The lobby was very warm and humid. The humidity is to be expected. The staff is friendly. The resort is on the ocean. You can swim in one of the many pools or snorkel there at the resort. There is a pool table, workout room, volley ball, a... Read more

I have been a guest at this hotel several times and each visit gets better ! We got to the hotel at 1pm and after a quick check in we were in our room . I had requested a 8th floor room and was granted one with a amazing view and beautiful balcony . It is the slow season so the hotel was at about 20% full and I really like that . We had no problem finding shaded seats on the beach and the pools were nice and quiet. They did not have the buffet out you ordered what you wanted to eat and the gr... Read more

We just returned from El Cozumeleno and a 5 day celebration for our 34th wedding anniversary! It was FANTASTIC!! We had an ocean view room on the 8th floor. We were welcomed to our room with chocolate covered strawberries on a plate with our names. I was impressed right away!! Throughout our stay, everyone who worked there was so friendly and helpful. It was quiet and relaxing, no late night partying, which is just what we wanted. They have several pools to enjoy, including one that has a roof o... Read more

My husband and I stayed for eight days at the beginning of June. I scour reviews for hotels before I book them, and was kind of up-in-the-air about El Coz due to previous complaints. I honestly didn't know what to expect because reviews were from one end of the spectrum to the complete opposite. However, upon arrival, I was very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted warmly by the concierge and shown where to check in. At check-in, we were presented with a delicious fruit punch and assigned our r... Read more

This was our 4th time to El Cozumeleno Beach Resort and another great stay. We were there for a week and it was great. The weather was beautiful and the water was perfect for snorkeling. What makes the trip, as usual, was the fantastic staff at the resort. All of the servers by the pool and the beach were fantastic. The hotel itself wasn't very impressive, but their staff (especially their waiters) were very attentive. The beaches were sublime, with clear water and schools of fish right under you. We even saw an eel! However, our bathroom reeked of sewer; it was almost unbearable. After contacting the front desk, they quickly repaired the problem (although the stench persisted at times). Our hotel room didn't even contain a fridge, and water was not freely given. The food was substandard, too. There was no ... Read more

This was a first visit to cozumel in 10 years, but we have stayed at numerous other all inclusive in Mexico recently. First the water is amazing and you can snorkel right off the beach. The hotel itself is a nice property on the outside, and there are many activities outside daily and the pool is nice. Also have games and mini golf around the property. The beach is very nice, the food is good, rooms are clean and spacious. We loved that restaurant is right on the beach. The beach is nice, water is clear (unlike resort next to it, where water is murky and seaweed washes on the beach) Note: please don't confuse traveler experience rating with hotel rating; El Cozumeleno is not a luxury resort (it is probably a 3 star resort) but experience is for 5 stars. I would go back any time.

El Cozumeleno resort was great! We had clean rooms, warm showers, excellent food and excellent service. We brought our entire family including grandma and grandma (whom is in a wheelchair). The grounds were handicapped accessible. The rooms needed a wider door to the bathroom; however, maintenance took off the bathroom door to accommodate his wheelchair. The staff is amazing, excellent food, and our stay was GREAT! I would highly recommend this hotel!

We spent one night here just for a change of pace. The resort is good, all rooms face the ocean, food and drink is all inclusive if you want, and the water is crystal blue. The is a dive shop there, but you do not leave from the dive shop. You have to taxi to town, and then board the dive boat at the marina. I'd call this place a snorkelers paradise. One more thing.
