Nina and Patrick from Australia, Queensland had this to say:
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at park royal Cozumel in April 2007 so much so that we are looking at heading back in 2011. The rooms are very spacious for hotel style rooms; even the beds and pillows were comfortable. The food went all day long with a large variety on offer. The chef will even cook your eggs they way you want right in front of you. The abundance of alcohol is just fantastic at the time not so great the day after. We enjoyed the nightly entertainment of Mexican cultural dance each night followed by the nightclub within the resort until 2am. There is no need to leave the resort if you choose not to. However, the shopping is great, entertainment in the streets, market stalls and no pressure to purchase. It is a timeshare resort and there are staff there to sell it. The resort staff are very friendly, polite and helpful and we look forward to returning. It`s just a shame we live so far away, we would visit every 6 months otherwise! We stayed for 6 nights but our next trip will be at least a minimum of 2 weeks. We`ve never been so relaxed as we were there and long for another holiday to Cozumel. "

"My husband and I have been to Park Royal Cozumel a few times and we absolutely loved it. We even spent my husbands 30th birthday there. The island is beautiful and the resort is wonderful. It is very clean and everyone there is super friendly! The food is pretty good and the drinks are fabulous! February is a great time to go! I can`t wait for our next trip!"

"We just returned from the Park Royal Cozumel Resort. We had a GREAT time and the resort was incredible. The room was beautiful with its marble floors and granite counters. The food was great and the staff was very helpful. A special thanks to the staff for assisting us with tours and for setting up the last minute para-sailing trip on my birthday. I highly recommend the Park Royal. We are currently setting up our return trip in the spring."

"We have been traveling to Mexico every Late April or May for several years now and have stayed at all-inclusives in Cancun, Puerto Adventuras, Playa De Carmen with several other couples, and I have to say that Park Royal in Cozumel is outstanding. The infinity pools are the best we`ve seen and the views are like a postcard. Ships sail in and out of the port all day long and the way the hotel sets, this is one of the only resorts that you get a great view of the sunset from your room. This hotel doesn`t sit directly on the beach, but you would never know it, because of the way it is all laid out. There is a pathway that you walk which is under a 2 lane road to get to the two infinity pool and hot tub, bar and beach area, and you cannot walk from beach resort to beach resort like a lot of other resorts. It is so different than any other resort we have ever stayed at, it is so unique. Very clean and tasteful rooms. The restaurants were very tasteful and the dinning ware is charming. Food was great also. Coffee great! One big plus to this resort is every afternoon they grill hot dogs, hamburgers and have homemade nachos with all the fixings out by the beach and infinity pools, a lot of resorts do not offer that, and you have to go into a sit down restaurant for lunch - this was great for snack all day long. Bartenders and wait staff were great, tipping is so greatly appreciated by the workers, and their service shows it. You can also leave resort and walk downtown, or take a short taxi ride to the large port and get on the 1/2 hr. Ferry ride to Playa de Carmen and spend the day at the beach and shop, massages on the beach were the best I had ever had and several bars and eateries all at the port there. Nightly entertainment at the resort, some nights, kinda cheesy, like most resorts, but still enjoyed the outdoor amphitheater it gave us something to do each night after dinner. All in all, a great resort, beautiful water, and would go back in a minute. Any questions please email."

nikole from Kingwood, Tx. had this to say:
"We have been to Cozumel 5 times and always stayed at the Melia Mayan. However, we wanted to try somewhere new. The park royal was great, beautiful and extremely clean. Staff was very friendly, except the host of the `upscale` dining rooms, who was very rude. If you are out on an excursion, or for any reason cannot make a reservation for the `fine dining` restaurant, he will not help you and was very rude to us. Even on our anniversary he would not let us in, although they were not busy. Also, the front desk people at times were very rude, slow, and not eager to help. Also ignore the people at the airport trying to sell you great deals. We fell for this and wasted 8 hours at the horrible place called `The Three rivers hotel` in Playa del Carmen. It was a waste of a day and the salesman made me cry and feel guilty. Also, it was scary going in the van with other Americans, who were also fearful of being driven thru mainland Mexico. It is a scam to sell high priced time shares: do not fall for it. At the Carlos and Charlies in Playa del Carmen they tried to charge us 56 dollars for 2 margaritas. Say in Cozumel! Other than this, we had a great time and enjoyed the Park Royals peacocks, all the amenities, and the food at the buffet was great. We recommend the Scuba Mau down the road for diving. They gave us the best dive we have had in ten years. Enjoy your stay at the beautiful Park Royal!"

"My husband and I just returned from here. Excellent in all aspects. The outdoor jacuzzis/hot tubs were cold, but that would probably feel good if it had been 90 outside. My husband wanted to video the staff to take back to show his employees the meaning of good customer service. We'd go back in a heartbeat! "

"We recently returned from a week-long trip to the Park Royal. There were six couples and we had a great time!! Four in our group did some scuba diving while there and they said it was wonderful! The staff at the resort was awesome!! It was very clean (everywhere) and everyone was very friendly!! We ate twice at the Italian restaurant and it was wonderful! We ate lots of burgers at the beach bar - always good! The buffet was also good, especially for breakfast!! We would definitely go back!"

"We had a marvelous time at Park Royal. The weather was great. The ships were beautiful to look at coming in and going out. Room was great with two king size beds. Front Desk staff could have been a bit more friendlier. Other than that, other staff was great! Restaurants were good, but pretty much had the same food every day. Exceptionally clean. Beautiful marble flooring. Loved waking up to the peacocks mewing in the morning! Too funny! Beach was great! Pools were very clean and maintained often. I would highly recommend this hotel. We can't wait to go back! "

"My wife and I stayed here for a week and loved every second of it. This trip is the one we talk about the most, and it's been two years now since we went. I love re-visiting the website to remind myself of the views and good times we had, and I'm surprised to see some bad ratings. The grouper at that one restaurant - it's awesome taste still haunts and beckons me to return!! The employees of the resort were so nice, and it was good to know that, although money and payment are the rewards of their efforts, that it didn't affect the sincere kindness we encountered everyday. I particularly enjoyed the diving as one of the several activities we did, and walking along the seawalk at night was nice since you don't have to watch your back against crime there. We will return soon, and I am confident the resort will be just as good or better than the last visit!"

"Great Place! Don't come to this resort for the beach. Matter of fact don't go to Cozumel for a beach resort. If you are a diver this is the place to go. If you are looking to relax this is the place to go. Dive shop across the street. Rooms are clean and comfy plenty of room to lay out your gear to dry on the balcony. Golf course on the island is very nice and quiet. Food at the buffet is good. Specialty restaurant have great food. The only downfall is they allow food reservations from 11-3 and if you are a diver then you are diving during the time make a reservation and they have a dress code, NO Shorts. Kinda silly. Overall Great Place!!!!"

Joe from Louisville, Kentucky had this to say:
"We just got back from our Honeymoon at Park Royal Cozumel. First, they advertise a honeymoon package, we asked 3 times about it and were told they would call us the next day, we never received it. OK, that was all the bad except for the salesmen at the airport. Hotel was beautiful, bell boy's were very attentive, staff was excellent. They waited for us to leave in the morning and within about 10 minutes they were at our room cleaning up, making the beds, new towels, awesome. The food was great, the buffet was stocked everyday with hot fresh food, service was great, plates were removed and water refilled almost instantly. We were never pestered by the staff but they were always available when needed. Bar tenders made drinks as asked and were always helpful. The Mexican and Italian restaurants were beautiful, food was delicious, reservations were easy to make, we did not make ours until almost 3 most days and had no problem getting them. We had the steak 2 nights in the Italian and the fajita for 2 at the Mexican. We always left full and were served an awesome meal. Pools were clean as was the beach. The snack bars make a great chicken sandwich. Hotel is really easy to spot and the whole area restricted to guests only. All area was safe, even downtown at all hours. We will definitely be back to Cozumel and will stay here again."

A Recent Traveler from Abilene, Texas had this to say:
"Luckily we weren't on our honeymoon-there are only 10 King size beds at the entire resort! ...and they have hard mattresses. The resort was decent, however, if you enjoy nice scenery while at the beach, this isn't for you. Cruise ships and various boats are always right in front of the hotel. Our room was close to an ice machine and right above the theatre. Both were very disturbing throughout the night. We awoke to screaming peacocks one morning. "

"I have read some reviews that are less than perfect and all I want to know is what kind of luxury are you people used to? This place is Beautiful, exactly as the Pics. show the rooms. Yes the food at the Buffet is not the greatest, but its a buffet, in a foreign country, what can you expect, its not terrible. The food in the Mexican and Italian restaurants is Excellent!!! especially the Italian. We had a wonderful time and the place is very nice."

A Recent Traveler from Seattle, WA had this to say:
"If you like sleeping on a hard bed that is about the size of what you had in your college dorm room you will like the accommodations at the Park Royal. Their website claims that they have 69 rooms with a King sized bed. We requested a King sized bed when we made our reservation and did not receive it, only to find out that they only have 10 rooms with a King sized bed in it. The beds are so small that you are practically sleeping on top of one another (my husband and I are thin and fit, we are not large people!!!) We had to push the two beds together and sleep with the crack between us to try to get any sleep. We were unfortunate to visit when the North winds were there so it was windy and cool (about 65 degrees). Because of this we wanted to enjoy the hot tubs by the ocean that are so beautifully pictured, only to find out that they are not even plumbed to have hot water!!! They were ice cold. The only actual 'hot' tub is located in the spa which is an extra fee to use. Breakfast was nice but all other meals were worse than eating at Applebees and with 1/8th the selection. If you wanted to eat in the restaurants you had to make your reservation between 12-3 and eat between 6-8:30. They would deny you reservation times in order to suit their needs. (We wanted a reservation at 7:30 and they said they were full but we could go at 7. When we were still eating in the restaurant at 7:30 only 6 of the 20 tables were occupied). A cab costs $8 USD each way and gets expensive to come back to your hotel to eat bad food. I mean who wants to be on a schedule on their vacation???? My advice would be to stay in town and eat at the local restaurants and go diving. (Ponchos Backyard is great!) Only go to Cozumel if you are planning on diving, otherwise there isnt much to do. Cozumel does not have sandy beaches for playing or relaxing, it is all reef. The diving is spectacular, we went to Deep Exposure because we were told it was better than AquaWorld next to the hotel. Also, just say no to the Royal Holiday representatives that harass you when you first get to the hotel. They are trying to get you to buy a timeshare Its a waste of your morning and will put you in a sour mood for having to deal with pushy salesmen. We will never stay at any hotel associated with Royal Holiday because of our experience. We would rather spend twice as much money on a trip to not have to deal with the hassles that Park Royal created. Vacations are supposed to create fun memories and we had a hard time not letting this experience completely ruin our trip and our memories of it. "
