"We bought a spur of the moment package deal for the Melia Cozumel Resort and it was well worth the money. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The resort is clean and spacious with a good size stretch of beach. The food is decent, probably the best you can expect for an affordable, all-inclusive resort. I was amazed, however, that hardly any guests were tipping! All-inclusive includes meals and beverages, entertainment and non-motorized activities. The hardworking staff absolutely deserves tips! I know our fabulous housekeeper went above and beyond with great attention to detail when cleaning our room because we left her a reasonable tip each day. Overall, this resort was quiet, family-friendly (yet has an adults-only pool with swim-up bar) and a delightful place to stay in Cozumel."

"The daily food was just OKAY! As well as the alcohol, watered DOWN! Did not like the process to get a reservation for dinner in the ONLY 2 places to dine, other than the buffet. Staff not very friendly and accommadating, they made you feel in adaquit, due to the lanague barrier. But if you are looking for a quite, relaxing place w/o doing anything else, this is the PLACE!"

"I've waited almost a whole year to write this review. My fiance and I had an absolute wonderful time. We loved our hotel and we loved Cozumel. The location, the food, Bingo at 3pm everyday, beautyshop, adult pool, the cleaning staff, the stocked refridgerator in the room, and the friendly staff we great. We took 2 excursions which were set up at the hotel. We snorkeled and ate lunch at a restaurant off the beack and took a 'wild tour' on a sand buggy. It was so much fun. We never went hungy and the diner at night that you made reservations for were great. We layed out, relaxed, read books, drank good drinks, and enjoyed our hotel's entertainment. I looked at our pictures from time time to time and think that was one of the best vacations I ever had. We are looking at taking another trip this June and getting married. So far, nothing I am seeing out there is comparative to the trip in Cozumel."

"OVerall our stay was very disappointing. The resort itself was quite nice. We stayed in the towers and had what they called the 'M' experience but not sure really what that brought us. We were on the 11th floor had a small balcony but beautiful view of the ocean. The rooms were quite larger with a small sofa seating area. The staff was not friendly at all especially the bartenders who basically ignored us as long as they could often washing glasses before acknowledging us. The drinks were marginal at best. The beach and pool areas were very very nice. However, they imply that there is a fair amount of actvity which is not the case. We were there for a week and never saw the beach volleyball area being used or any staff even trying to organize a game. You could use the beach equiptment - snorkel gear and kayaks free for an hour each day so we took advantage of that as a way to do something at the resort. The food was marginal at best, this incudes the two reservation restaurants as well. We understand that the expectations need to be lower at an AI but we have stayed at several others in this range and never been so disappointed in the food. We actually ended up going to eat in town the last three nights. The location was fine. It was nice that it was close to the airport but was a $15 cab ride to town. We had kids with us 3 @ 18 and 1@15. They were fairly bored as the crowd is definitely older. Or the other way and had young children in that case maybe it would have been better. FYI this is actually the first time I have ever been so disappointed that I would write a review."

"Awesome experience. The staff was helpful and friendly. There were always places open and available at the pool. Plenty of chairs and towels. You could swim right up to the bar in the pool and enjoy a drink on a bar stool in the water. Plenty of space on the beach! The beach itself was really nice too. A lot of the nearby resorts didn't have much of a beach. It was mostly rocks and shells. Melia had a ton of nice sand that made it a nice beach. There were plenty of things to do like volleyball, kayaking, snorkeling, etc. They also had really helpful people on site to help with scuba. My only 'complaint' was the food. The food was ok. It wasn't bad...it wasn't great. If you wanted a reservation for the nice restaurant for the evening then you had to wait in line that morning for at least 30 minutes if you wanted a reservation. Sometimes you would wait in line and the restaurant would fill up and you wouldn't get a spot. You would stil be able to go to the buffet, but the food wasn't as good. That being said, overall it was an awesome resort and I would absolutely go back."

"Stayed at the Melia Cozumel from Jan. 25/13 to Feb. 1/13. The facility was small and quiet and located right on the beach. The food was good but not great. Our room was an ocean view suite. The beds were very uncomfortable (hard as a rock). Found out too late in the week that you could get some foam rubber padding from the front desk. Obviously, they know the beds are a problem. The staff was friendly and attentive. Cozumel intself is nice and we felt safe. Recommend you take a trip either by scooter, taxi or jeep over to the other side of the island where you will see wonderful rugged views. Overall, we feel we had good value for the money spent."

"I went with a group of 8 adults to the Melia in Cozumel and found that the resort met or exceeded our expections in almost every way. Hotel was very clean and well maintained in every way. Staff was extremely polite and went out of their way to be helpful. We found the food to be good to very good which is unusual for an all inlusive buffett. Was slightly disappointed in the a la carte restaurant. Pools were great, clean and well maintained. Beach was attractive and well maintained. Drinks were enjoyed by all of our party with no complaints in regards to quality or quanity. Atmosphere was very laid back and enjoyable with no hustle bustle. Very, very good value for the money spent, would highly recommend to others. Just watch the cab fares to and from the hotel as they very wildly."

"Overall, I would pass on this resort. Even though all of my requests were fufilled, like being as high up as possible, a king size bed, and near our travel mates...the resort was not up to par. The food was only good at the buffet for breakfast and the snack bar. The reservations only dinner place was trying to get TOO fancy, and even then, it was not good. The rooms were very nice and clean, but the AC left everything feeling wet and damp. The pillows are ROCK HARD. Not just our room either, we asked everyone at the pool bar and they all agreed they wouldnt be returning. The staff was great, and the nightly entertainment was alright. They do have a lot to do at the resort, but its just not worth it to put up with the beds, food, and the murky water at the beach. Pass on this place."

"4th all inclusive we stayed at in past 4 years

Food was poor and staff poor compared to other resorts we have stayed at.

As we do not drink and I am diabetic the food is a big part of our experience. Good for a high school cafateria. Wieners and onions 4 days in a row, come on who eats that crap!

"This is truly a beautiful place, but we had issues right from the start. BookIt advertised a lot of things in our 'M experience' room that they no longer provide, including; 24/7 vacation assistance, M experience lounge, fruit basket on arrival, or concierge. We were quite dissappointed with these items not being available any longer, but the hotel was very apologetic and tried to make it right. They just aren't a 4 star or above hotel and I tried to believe that by buying the 'first class experience' with the M experience room that I would get something special. It didn't happen. What we got was a good affordable room in a beautiful place."

"My wife and I stayed at the Melia Cozumel from December 07th to the 14th. The resort was fantastic! First of all, the porters at the front entrance were extremely friendly and were so gald to assist us. The woman at the front desk was very friendly.

We loved our room. We had a garden room which was on the ground floor with our patio facing the Paraisio Restaraunt. It was great waking up each morning to the sound of the birds and watching the iguanas sunning near the koi pond. We especially enjoyed the HUGE iguana who made his home atop of the Paraisio Restarant. we named him 'Big Daddy Cool'!

The food was aveage to good and the drinks were excellent. The beach was average to good as the winds were quite strong on our first couple of days there which stirred up the sand and gave our water a browninsh color. The rest of the week the water was quite nice. I guess the only complaint that I can think of was the fact that there weren't enough restrooms. In my opinion there could have been a restroom or two closer to the beach so one wouldn't have to walk through the pool area and past the activities desk to use the restroom.

If one wishes to snorkel on Melia's beach, good luck. There didn't appear to be a reef right on our beach but if you walk 5 minutes south, past the breakwater, the snorkeling was quite good.

Overall, I would rate the resort an 8 out of 10 and would definitely go back.

"We visited and stayed in the Paradise Jacuzzi suite for our honeymoon in September 2011. We couldn't have imagined staying in a different room. We had the most spectacular view and the best beach access right from our room. The room could use some updating but the view and jacuzzi is so worth it. The resort it self was very charming and the staff was very friendly and eager to help. However, in my opinion the food didn't seem as fresh and delicious as it looked. My favorite part of the day was snack time when they prepared burgers and fries & chicken tenders etc.. right in front of you... Other than that I completely enjoyed our stay at Melia Cozumel and would definitely plan another stay with them!!!! I can't wait to go back!!!! "

"My husband & I returned on the 9th of August hated to leave. The staff in the hotel & restaurants were very caring,helpful and very personable.

We had a fantastic time looking forward to a return trip in the near future. Oh yes I might add the lady in the spa was outstanding never had a better massage than the one she gave me. Thanks for a lovely time.
