"1st time at the allegro and had a great time .Food was average with plenty to choose from at the buffets.Their speacialty reastaurants had excellent food. Staff was great and very helpful. Highly suspect the people who gave low reviews were stuffy people who didn't know how to enjoy life at a reasonly price. They probably didn't belong there anyway. If you want to go somewhere with a lot of average and have a fun time I recommend giving the allegro a shot."

"My reason for going to COZUMEL was to take my Mother's ashes to the Punta Sur lighthouse where my Father and Aunt were already taken several years ago. I went on the spur of the moment, had a 4 day window and booked my flight, hotel and car online. I've never done anything like this, I was on my own and took my chances. I read the reviews about the Allegro and some of them were very negative and I have to admit scared me a bit. But, I have to be honest - those people, I believe just had a bad attitude before they went, (although the beds were a little stiff, just have a drink it gets softer) . Rooms were clean, AC rocked, all the amenities - blow drier, iron, tv, large beach towels - the grounds - beautiful 2 huge pools, 1 fantastic kiddy pool, 2 Jacuzzi, dive shops, jewelry and gift carts out by pools, breakfast; lunch and dinner were fantastic and for those that get thirsty ......free drinks anytime ya need one, totally cool !! This trip, (besides the Customs officers at the Cozumel Airport and my circumstances) ended up being the most relaxing, calm, beautiful, simplistic, trip that Ive ever experienced in my entire lifetime.
The drive to the motel was miserable (i rented a car) I got to the Allegro, with a migraine, fever, crying from anxiety and stress to be greeted by 2 of the most nicest, caring, helpful men I have ever met. I tried to hide my
situation and sickness from them but they some how knew why i was sick and why i was in Cozumel. They treated me with utmost respect and were there to make my trip comfortable and non stressful. I took my mom to the lighthouse, which by the way was unbelievably breathtaking. None of my trip would have been worth writing about if it wasn't for the 2 hosts at the Allegro I want to say Gracias from the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU ALLEGRO - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!"

"The hotel is ok but definitely don't stay here for the food. We ended up eating out for every meal except lunch. The drinks aren't good they have a very limited selection of alcohol which consist of brands I've never heard of and only one beer choice; Corona. The beds are on cement blocks so there hard and we had bugs in our windows the whole time we were there. It has a unique island atmosphere they just need to replace some roofs and clean up the pools and improve the food. I wasn't expecting a five star resort but we definitely will stay at another resort next time. For Diving it's great!!!"

"When I booked this trip I was not expecting luxury rooms, after all I was looking to stay in the beach as much as possible, so the room was ok, clean and AC in good condition, but we didn't need the AC that much, the breeze was nice. The hotel has several pools, I only got there in the last day. Why bother with the pool if you have the Caribbean ocean right there? But the pools were ok. The food was nice, the fish dishes were awesome, good salad bar, so you can eat healthy, but if you like: burgers, fries, all this trash, they also offer these items in the buffet to the 'special clients'. Diving??? Just amazing, the dive shop team is great, my instructor was excellent diver and person. Got a friend right there :). The dive places are outstanding, every dive a different place with new surprises. Not too many activities in the hotel, but I guess was low season. Not that I care... there are plenty of things to do. Drive around, go to Tulum by ferry, cave snorkeling, Chankanaab park with the dolphins... I am definitely going back..."

"We are a family of four. When we arrived at noon we knew that our room would not be ready until 3.00, so we were prepared for that, we hung out at the pool and spent considerable time at the dive shop getting our dives set up and we had booked a dive certification for one of our kids, They were great we did all of our paperwork for ourselves and our son. We did not even get back to the lobby to check in until 4.00 pm, thinking we had avoided the rush, however our room still was not ready, when we finally got our room around 4.30. The AC did not work, they sent someone to 'fix it' which they did not!! The room was dirty and smelled like urine. After an hour and a half of them trying to fix our AC unit we asked for another room, which we did not get until I demanded to see the manager of the hotel. I have never done anything like that in my life. It still took another hour. So we were now on to about 6.30pm before we got settled into a reasonable room. The rope course we saw on the internet was closed; the banana boat rides were closed. The internet said they had four restaurants when in reality only one Buffett was open per day and the Mexican restaurant which a reservation was needed for was below average the main course was cold and had been cooked hours in advanced, yucky. It seemed to me like the resort had potential the beaches and pool areas were beautiful and there were enough activities to keep our kids entertained. The evening shows were cheesy but cute. We are a well-traveled family and have been to Cozumel three times and Mexico four times, we had fun, with the dive shop being the best part. All the dive employees were great!! But over all we will not return to this resort."

"The resort was average at best. We stayed at the Park Royal all inclusive last year and thought it was much nicer and the food much tastier. the grounds surrounding our room smelled of raw sewer smells and the food was mediocre at best. the only meal that was edible was breakfast. I htought it was ridiculous that they charge their guests 11.00 per 30 minutes to use the internet. They should just build that price into the cost of the stay. To charge extra like that is ridiculous. We had articles stolen from our lawn chair area on the beach and the website said their was billiards available which there was not. We travel to Cozumel twice a year for the scuba diving we will not retuen to this resort however."

"This was our first time to Cozumel. We are beginning divers who were excited about diving the Palancar Reef. The reef did not disappoint but the hotel did. We were in a 2nd floor room that had the grass style roof. We thought it cute at first but at 4:45 a.m. when the roosters started doodling and the very loud birds started screeching as well as the dogs which started barking there was no sleeping unless you turned on the very loud fan/air conditioner which then left you subject to a cold or sore throat. Not only did the cute thatched roofs provide zero sound insulation but left a lovely layer of brown dirt like debris which covered your bed, open suit case, night stand etc. - do not sleep with your mouth open although this would allow you to skip a meal which would not necessarily be a bad thing. Bed was hard as a rock and pillows 2 feet thick with no give were designed for an ostrich or giraff. Truthfully the food was edible with the exception of lunch - don't even bother. Breakfast was actually fairly decent and dinner was hit or miss. Went from awful the first night to good on the second and third. Staff with the exception of a few individuals were rude and very unaccommodating. Cozumel is a beautiful island with incredible diving and nice beaches - Definitely would recommend Cozumel and can't wait to go back, just won't go back to this hotel! Don't know who has written the other reviews - quite a mystery, but spend the few extra bucks and stay somewhere else!"

"The resort itself was pretty nice, not great, but certainly acceptable for a nice stay in Cozumel. The service and staff is what makes this resort a below average place. The staff does not seem to care about doing their jobs and almost seemed like we were bothering them when we had basic requests. We paid extra to have a mini bar in our room but had to ask four times for it to be filled at check in. Then was not refilled until we asked the front desk about the 3rd day of our stay and was never refilled again despite leaving a note for the maids. We had to practically beg them to give us soap for our bathroom. We had a dress shirt stolen out of our suitcase in our room. At meals, we almost always had to wait in line to be seated and sometimes no one was around to seat people although they have sign saying to wait to be seated. We had to ask for drinks every meal and ask for refills, the staff very rarely asked us if we needed drinks, refills, etc. The only thing they did fairly quick at the meals was to remove our plates from our table when we were finished. I strongly do not recommend this resort because of the service. We paid the exact same amount as we did when we stayed at a RIU and the RIU was 10 times better. I certainly do not have high expectations but only want the basics and this resort does not offer that. Please do not stay here, there are better all inclusives for your money..."

"My wife and I traveled to Cozumel and stayed at the Resort for 5 nights at the end of February. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an extremely friendly staff. They seemed to want to please their guests and were very helpful and courteous. The grounds are kept manicured and are quite beautiful. The beach area was also beautiful and nice to swim at. There is also shade on the beach in the form of palm trees and palapas if you need it. The rooms were basic, yet clean. The maid service was great with plenty of hot water for showers, clean towels and linens, and the refrigerator was stocked with beer, soda, and water everyday, (I tipped $5-10 per day which may have helped). The pools were nice and you could always find a spot in sun or shade around one of them. There was a bit of lounge chair hording, but not bad. We booked a snorkel trip through our resort representative. It was the best snorkel trip we have ever had. Our crew members would snorkel along and lead us to spots and actually show us wildlife we would not have seen otherwise. He collected and showed us lobsters; shrimp, eels, and crabs just to name a few. It was well worth the money and a big tip! We taxied to town on a Sunday evening trying to avoid the cruise liner crowd. (It was extremely convenient to get a taxi at the front of the resort). We had heard through trip advisor of others doing this and were treated to Cozumel's fiesta for the locals. We asked a number of locals about the fiesta and we could tell they were trying to steer us away from it without being rude. We found it at the smaller plaza, and it was wonderful. There was a concert featuring a latin pop singer/dancer followed by a live band. There was also a family oriented carnival nearby. Most every local in Cozumel we met were extremely nice to us. We rented a jeep and toured the East side of the island, eating and drinking (safely) our way around and then back. (I did not want to try and drive through the downtown chaos). We did taxi to town a number of times and ate at Casa Denis and Wet Wendy's which were awesome. I would recommend both! OK, now the negatives: The beds were very hard, but we asked for the extra egg crate foam pad that made all the difference in the world. The walls of the rooms are thin. You can hear everything your neighbors do or say. Sleeping in late is not an option. The birds like to party first thing in the morning. But you are on vacation...get up and enjoy! Getting drinks at the bar during the day can be annoying. They need at least 2 bartenders and blenders. Self service for beer and sodas would be a tremendous help. The pool and hot tub should stay open later past 8. There was not much nightlife at the Allegro which was ok. We were tired from the long days anyhow. The food was not good. You have to be able to 'make do' with parts of each buffet service. Most of the buffet dishes could not be recognized, nor did I want to even try after awhile. This for me is a show stopper when I book for an all-inclusive. Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room, an egg crate mattress pad, a room with a fridge, a room nearer the beach."

"Room was not what I expected. The difference between superior and superior premium was a small refrigerator and perhaps a couple of white bathrobes.



Next time to lose less time and money, I will get only flight and hotel package with no upgraded room and the rest I will get it for myself.



Welcome reception is a pure sales talking, talking and more talking . Very bad idea to put the sales team booth (sharks cage) at the entrance of the complex there is no way to escape from them.



Service from the rest of the people was very good, the beach was beautiful and clean, towel service excellent, room service excellent, food service and quality no complains, and the new theater is nice."

"Great Beach! Dive shop is the BEST! The Best you will ever find! they want you to have a safe time and a Blast diving with them! you will love the diving and the close reefs. Rooms were good and staff very nice. No hassle at all and relaxing. Stuff they need to fix.....FOOD! Food is in much need of an overhaul! Major pool was dirty but we swim in the ocean."

"We have been to the Allegro 5 Times so far. The first time was when it was still the Diamond Resort in the 90s. The beds could use some improvment. We have been there during High and Low Season and I like the Low Season best as the staff will do just about anything to please you and it is more personal. It is like coming home and it is always hard to leave. We will be back. You just can't get better service no matter were you go or how much you pay."

"The staff at Allegro is truly incredible. They are kind, extremely accommodating, and made my vacation with my sister an incredible week-long experience. We did an extra 'snorkel excursion' not included in our package and I would recommend it to any and everyone! It was very inexpensive and provided us with all of the adventure and beauty that we wanted to see during our trip. I thoroughly recommend it!



As a first timer (and New Yorker that doesn't get scammed easily), I was really hesitant about booking anything extra but the team at the resort (Manuel, I believe) was so fair, trusting, and honest. It couldn't have been a better trip. We went at the beginning of the down season due to weather delays but the quality of service and kindness of the staff didn't waiver at all.



Best first-time trip to Mexico. I couldn't imagine it going better."

"Just as everyone else has said, the food is bad, but only on the weekends. Through the week it is actually pretty ok. The beach is AWESOME!!! Can't ask for a better beach. If you go please say hello to the best bartender ever, Freddy!!! He made my trip so much better than it started out to be.,...DO NOT FORGET TO TIP!!! Tipping will get you far and just because it's all inclusive doesn't mean you don't have to tip!! The beds are rock hard and hard to sleep on. The front desk staff is not very friendly or helpful. The rest of the staff is fine. "
