"Being my second time back to Cancun this resort was even better than Grand Caribe which is next door. Service, food and the drinks was all of superb quality. I will be going again this year in the fall, if you are going to go, you have to stay for a week or more. It is so worth the stay."

"By boyfriend and I took a trip in June of 2009 and stayed for 6 days. Our only complaint is that we did not book a longer vacation at the Royal. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The pool was gorgeous and very clean. The food at the restaurants for the all-inclusive package exceeded our expectations. The pictures shown on the site cannot do justice to how wonderful the resort was. The beach is being rebuilt, however it is still breathtaking. We hope to return as soon as possible."

"We just recently returned from a week at The Royal. We LOVED it!! The food was wonderful and so much to choose from-- Pelicano's was our favorite because their filet you could cut with a butter knife. I had a chocolate massage-- so relaxing and yummy smelling.The ocean was as beautiful as in the pictures, as was the pool and it was nice to go back and forth as wanted as well it was great to have waitress to bring you beverages as you needed them as well as a beachtler who helps you with sunscreen and reading materials. The room was so ROMANTIC--rose petals on the bed, which had a canopy, a deck with a hammock chair that you could watch the ocean (we now have one in our living room). The only problem we had was with turndown service--didn't happen 2 nites even when they called and also my husband HATED the timeshare talk they gave us--it only lasted 2 hours (our vacation time) but you did get some goodies out of it and a tour of the property and adjoining family property--which helped answer some questions as to where and what was available. We only left the property 2 times to get souvenirs for the kids- so much to do and we were there to relax and enjoy. We have already recommended to many of our friends (one booked with their family at the Royal for the family already). We totally hope to be able to return-- either with or without the kids. Now, if only I could get their recipe for salsa, guacamole, and seafood potage soup..."

"I consider myself well traveled and I have stayed in luxury hotels but The Royal is on the top of my list. From the minute we arrived until the time of departure I felt like royalty. The staff works diligently to make sure every request is met with enthusiasm. The food was above my expectations and the choices plentiful. The spa services were fabulous and a must do during your stay, the hot rock or any of the wraps are fantastic."

"This resort is by far the most beautiful and amazing resort in Cancun. If you want total relaxation, then just stay at the resort. If you are adventuresome as we are, hop on the local bus right in front of the hotel and go down to market 28. Right across the street is Margaritaville, if you want music and dancing. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The beach, although much has been washed away, is still warm and inviting. The restaurants are by far the best in Mexico and the staff is terrific (and no reservations as in other resorts). We never had to wait to get a table. We have stayed at 3 other resorts in the Cancun/ Playa area and the Royal was way above all of the rest. We liked it so much we just booked a trip in Nov. to The Royal in Playa del Carmen and we can't wait to go. "

"My fiance planned a surprise 4 day trip to Cancun and we stayed here at this beautiful resort. We booked a junior suite overlooking the ocean and the room itself was magnificent. It was like we were in Europe or something. Definitely the nicest room I ever stayed in. We took advantage of the in room breakfast 2 days in a row and to our surprise, they were punctual 2 days in a row. They brought the food up to our room @ 6 AM sharp! All the staff there greeted us in extreme kindness and everyone was very nice. Not once were we disappointed whatseover. We will definitely come back in the near future and stay here!"

"MY WIFE AND I AND TWO OTHER GUESTS STAYED AT THE ROYAL CANCUN IN 2008. WE ENJOYED IT SO MUCH THAT WE ARE RETURNING IN APRIL 2009. THE STAFF WAS EXCELLENT AND THE FOOD WAS VERY ENJOYABLE. I USED THE SPA FACILITIES AND WAS MOST IMPRESSED. MY WIFE CERTAINLY ENJOYED THE SHOPPING IN THE AREA AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO OUR RETURN. MARICARMEN GARCIA WAS MOST HELPFUL AND THE STAFF AT THE PELICAN CERTAINLY SURPRISED MY WIFE WITH A BIRTHDAY CAKE. WE HAVE STAYED AT THE GRAN PORTO REAL IN PLAYA TWICE WHEN WE BRING OUR GRANDCHILDREN BUT FOR OURSELVES- WE LOVE THE ROYAL. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR RETURN VISIT IN APRIL."

"my husband and i just returned from our eight day stay at the Royal and let me tell you- it was a difficult task to leave! between the beautiful view of the ocean from our room ( watched the sunrise every morning) and the gracious employees ( they ranged from great to superlative) and the most delicious meals at all of the restaurants, our stay was unforgetable and we cant wait to go back. highly recommend this property! (of course it helped that we had beautiful weather)"

"We just returned from the Royal in Cancun Nov.21-28/08. This resort is fabulous. The Service, The Food, The Furnishing, excellent!!. The only draw back is there is no beach and it is very quiet at night not much to do. They do have a show but not that creative. The vacation club people very polite and respected the word no. A word of caution, we rented a van from the guy in the lobby to travel to Chitzenitza and on the way back we hit a dog on the highway. We had purchased the extra coverage but because we did not report the incident right when it happened the rental company would not honor the claim. We reported it the next morning. Solution: Take the Bus!! All in all it is a great resort, dripping with service..... Arlene "

"I am writing this review a year after our vacation. I am now online booking a trip to go back! After staying at the THE ROYAL I do not think anything else would compare! The staff was amazing! The room was clean and beautiful and I loved the shower! The decor was relaxing and all of the extra touches made us feel like we were living in luxury! The food was fabulous, the drinks were not watered down and the spa was wonderful. I loved the beach butler's and our concierge was fabulous! Highly recommended! "
