"okay, so I completely understand that guests can be picky and things are never perfect BUT with that said... I would NOT with my right mind recommend this hotel to anyone - I feel somewhat obligated to tell everyone I know who visit Cancun regularly about our terrible vacation.

The trip was a family trip with family coming from different parts of the US and the Caribbean. My husband and I regularly visit Cancun at least twice a year and have never had an experience like this.
First off, the front desk guy was so rude and not at all helpful. The whole front desk was completely disorganized and seemed clueless. Our rooms were not bad at all, quote spacious and clean and the cleaning staff was very trustworthy and great! The bartenders were okay and the concierge and bellboy were a lot more helpful than the front desk staff. The beach was okay in that it wasn't too rough so kids could play nearby but was very dirty so couldn't swim without seaweed being all over you. The food is so so boring - I kid you not - it's the same food everyday. They only have two restaurants and one is always closed but the other guests say that's actually worse than the main one. In addition, for two days during our stay they closed down the main restaurant so everyone would have to go across the road to eat - when on vacation that sucks! Needless to say, we at out on the strip a couple nights. Also, they are on of those hotels that say all inclusive but actually charge for certain foods and do not offer room service. My husband purchased the $25us wifi only to not get it in our own room! It kept disconnecting and was very frustrating.
Unfortunately on the last night, on of our cousins -age 11 feel outside on some long steps they have a bust open his head - accidents happen I know but the reaction was unacceptable. First off, the child's parents are outside with the child laying down applying pressure to the wound, uncertain of how bad the injury was and no one from the hotel came to assist! The mother lost for words was trying to ask the same guy only to have him ignore here, she rushed back outside and the bellboy thank goodness called the ambulance. When trying to get information from the frot desk about how far the hospital was, etc. - he ignored us point blank - I has to say 'hello!!l' only for him and another guy to say yes yes, it's coming but I mean completely ignore us. They started telling us that they didn't call for the ambulance so we should ask who called - bear in mind the bellboy is a part of their staff and the fall happening at their front steps! Whilst at the hospital, our family was trying to find out the name of the hospital etc so see how things were going only for him to tell them he doesn't know - family members had to be persistent and say 'well, can you find out?!' as so he did but he completely refused to call and didn't. I'm assuming they are running from a lawsuit but they actually made it worse for themselves acting like that. Anyhow, our cousin got 5 stitches so we're all glad it wasn't worse! I can write lots more but I hope you get the picture."

"I WISH I could say that our vacation at Sea Adventures was good. When we got to the hotel after travelling 12 hours , we were assigned a regular room instead of the Jr Suite we had booked. When booking our trip, we were FORCED to book a Jr. Suite because we have 3 children ( 2 kids and 1 infant), so we were over the max occupancy for a regular room, and needed to upgrade to the suite (which was frustrating since the baby doesn't need a bed!). But apparently once you are there...max occupancy doesn't exist! He said they would have a suite for me the next day ( no refund btw)....totally unacceptable. After threatening to sleep in their lobby, a JR suite mysteriously became available.

The seaweed on the beach was unlike anything I have ever seen ( I have been travelling to Cancun for the past 15yrs 2x/yr). It took 3 days of pitch forks to clean it up. My kids barely noticed, they still enjoyed the sand and water. But that STENCH! (where did that come from???) was unbareable. We could not be near the beach for 2 days because of the sewery gaseous smell. We needed to go to the pool, which was only better if the wind wasn't blowing.
Food was sub-standard. Same side dishes every night. I had food poisoning on Morining #2 that had me in bed for the entire day. I had only had 2 drinks since arriving at the hotel at this point, and if you are looking for a variety of tropical drinks.... book elsewhere. They literally could only make strawberry drinks or blue lagoons.... they didn't have pineapple or mango juice mixes, no Khalua, Corona. I found hair in my first 4 meals.... and yet everyone I saw was wearing a hair net... so I don't know where it came from...after the first 2 hairs, I purposely only took food from the dishes they 'just' brought out, and I still found 2 more hairs. It was gross. Breakfast was the best meal of the day if you wanted an omelet. Every bartender, server, desk clerk, concierge, sales rep, pool hosts, grounds keepers, etc... were all male. That was a first for us in 15 years as well. Normall, there are at least waitresses and activity hosts that are female.

The rooms were clean, and cleaned well every day. The nicest staff was the cleaning staff. Front desk clerks, and concierge were not very helpful. We had a rough start to our vacation what with the food poisoning, and when we went to 'book' a reservation for the a-la-carte restaurant, we were told that there wasn't 1 sitting available for the 4 remaining nights we were there! I guess every one else was disguted with the regurlar food too.

My 5yr old loved the kids club. I liked that they outlined the entire day on the daily newsletter, so you knew where they were at each moment of the day. My 8yr old liked the water park. My water-slide fanatic husband was excited to give it a try... but after coming too close to the edge on a turn, didn't try another slide. He didn't trust that it was safe... we wouldn't let the kids down that particular slide again either. The dinner shows were fun and well rehearsed. Better shows than at many of our previou resorts. The kids certainly enjoyed them. And the showtimes ensured that the kids could stay up to watch them.

The hotel sponsored shuttle service ( off the hotel website) we booked to get us back to the airport, couldn't come to a complete stop for any reason without the vehicle stalling, therefore the driver took us all over back roads to avoid stopping!

All in all, a very poor vacation for us adults. When you spend all that money on a vacation, you expect to at least get relaxation out of it...and a litte pampering. Our best vacation day, was the day we left the hotel to sail accross to Isla Mujeres. The beach there was stench-free, beautiful, and the food vendors along the beach were serving lovely fresh seafood. That was the highlite of our vacation.

Needless to say, we will never return to Sea Adventures Resort.. and we will deter anyone else that asks about it. We aren't fussy travellers, we aren't first time travellers, and we pride ourselves on finding the good in things.... we just couldn't find much good here at all.

"We had a fantastic week at Sea Adventure. Our party consisted of two adults and three girls, 13, 11, and 6. The staff was extremely friendly with many activities for adults and kids. The staff performed The Lion King, Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, and a Michael Jackson tribute. The songs were lip sung but still entertaining. The waterpark was as pictured with four large slides. We left the 6 year old in the Kids Club when we went SCUBA diving. The resort did not charge us while the Kids Club was open and provided a staff member to babysit after they closed. The only drawback was the isolated location. But that meant we didn't have people trying to sell us stuff on the beach."

"We have just arrived home on wednesday from Sea Adventure, Mexico Cancun. We have three boys at 16, 15, and 11 years old and we all personally would like to thank and congradulate all of the workers through-out our short and amazing two weeks holiday away from home. We all loved the food, entertainment during the day and also at night the theatre was great, the catering was also amazing and couldn't have asked for any other better workers to help and assist us in any problems or difficulties we had, all of the workers always had a happy smile on their face when they were helping everyone that we spotted and thought it was so kind of them to do so. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff couldn't have been any better, from bar staff to the entertainment staff, that is not excluding the maids services, we couldn't have been more delighted to walking into such a clean room every day without fail. The Bell Boy service was immaculate.

Overall services in this great resort were brilliant! We thoroughlly enjoyed our magnificent holday and would go back anytime.

As to all these gripes about sea weed, this company go out their way to do their upmost to get rid of this problem. Anyone who says otherwise is talking nonsence."

"front desk staff were almost hostile in their responses and not at all helpful or friendly
only one restaurant open at any one time, and most of the time we were totally unassisted.
It must be the only resort where one is charged for wi fi use.
Overall not a good experience for an all inclusive resort. The water park is good and I would recommend that you pay for the day there, like the locals do, but stay somewhere else."
