Jake from Milwaukee, WI had this to say:
"My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon there. We enjoyed it very much except for a few minor things. Our room was upgraded as well, and we also got quite a bit of stuff for free. We had the junior suite, but I have to agree with the previous review that the bed was too hard. The TV was an old 19 inch RCA that didn't get too many channels. I mention it because it seemed out of place, because everything else in the room looks really nice and fairly new. The food was ok. The food at the buffets was pretty bland, but the restaurants, where you could make reservations, were good. Don't bother with dessert though. Getting a drink was really easy at every bar there, probably because the hotel wasn't very busy. The mixed and blended drinks tasted good but didn't have a lot of booze in them. The beer they had on tap, from what I saw, is Dos XX, though they might have something else. They don't have bottles of anything there. A few recommendations if you do want to go: don't sign up to see the other Sandos hotel in Playa, it’s a timeshare presentation. Bring a watch; there aren't any clocks in the hotel that I saw and our room clock kept turning off. Bring shampoo, conditioner and soap. The shampoo and soap they give you in the room is awful and conditioner isn't provided. There is a free shuttle to go into Playa del Carmen, it only seats 50 people though, so get there a half hour early or so if you want a to get a seat . Like I said, we had a really good time and I'd recommend it to anyone going to Playa del Carmen."

Vicki Reeve from Sloan, Newyork had this to say:
"We went for our honeymoon. We were upgraded as promised. Our room was really nice except jucuzzi was dirty and we had no towels. We got a lot of free stuff for our wedding package. Overall the resort is nice. The grounds were very nice and clean. The timeshare people get you as soon as you get there. Say no! We got to go in the preferred area that had free internet and good food and specialized drinks. They give that to you because they want you to buy a timeshare. The middle of the property has a place with hot dogs ect.; don't eat here, it's terrible. The bed was a bit on the hard side. Keep putting out maid sign to get fresh towels. Musty smell is throughout the sleeping quarters. I think this smell is in every hotel. So we would go back if price was right."

Billie from kansas city, mo had this to say:
"In April of 09 we took the whole family, even grandchildren and grandparents. We had an awesome time. So that we could afford to take the whole family, we lowered our standards-- or so we thought. We had been to this area two other times in the last nine months. By far this was the best trip. Each and everyone of us enjoyed the stay. The resort was awesome, clean, with friendly people. We like good service. I would go back today in a heartbeat. I can't say enough about the resort. I am sure we'll return. I hope that you people out there looking for a great resort, you'll enjoy this one. By the way, all the food and restaurants were top quality. They did a great job changing up the food. We never got hungry."

A Recent Traveler from Elkhart, Indiana had this to say:
"We had a great family vacation here. Would return in a heartbeat. The staff was really friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious. If we needed something all we had to do was call the front desk. We may have had to wait just a little, but you will get that with any hotel you stay at. The grounds were very well kept up. The food was plentiful, if you go hungry it is your own fault. Lots of activities to do for the whole family. My kids were able to ride the mechanical bull, face painting, balloon sculpting and the nightly movies and different shows, we did not have to leave the resort. We went to Xel-Ha, highly recommend it, the kids had a blast snorkeling and jumping from the cliff. The special SPF you have to wear while snorkling is to be desired. It does not rub in so you walk around all white. This was our first time to Mexico and we are already planning to return."

Dan & Suzie from North Vancouver, B.C., Canada had this to say:
" We spent 7 days here and both cannot wait to go back. Next time for 2 to 3 weeks. Loved the quaintness & layout of Sandos Caracol. Never had to walk too far to get to any one place & if you didn't feel like walking you could just hop on one of the passing shuttles. The food & drinks were great but what really impressed us was the friendliness of every staff member we encountered. They really seemed happy to work here & were very hard working. Hated the pressure put upon us by staff selling 'Vacation Packages'. All in all, it was a great relaxing vacation & we will go back."

Muhammad Siddiqui from South Elgin, IL had this to say:
"I Stayed at Sandos Caracol Resort 3 days from March 13 through March 16th with 2 of my friends, and we all like this place a lot and definately would return to the same place, the check in time was at 3:00pm but they let us go into the room at 2:00pm. The friendly front desk member offered us a free upgrade from standard ocean view room to a junior suite with Jacuzzi in balcony which has a great Pool and ocean view with palm trees surrounds, the resort has 6 great resturants like Italian, Chinese, mexican etc, most of them has a la carte option available, the food was outstanding, very tasty, plenty of food with good quantity and quality, the waiters and waitresses was very efficient, friendly and helpful. we found very friendly staff every where, while on front desk, pool, Spa, and at any restaurant, the best food we found in the steak house, the T-Bone Steak and Beef Fillet was amazing and I never had this much soft beef fillet, it was so yummy, the desert at the steak house was also incredible , fried banana pudding with caramel and vanilla ice cream. There are tons of activities inside the resort you wont have to go out but if you want they have very knowledgeable Concierge who can guide you about the tours, we took a day tour from the hotel to the island called Sian, Kaan in which they tour people picked us up from the resort at 6:45 in the morning took us at the place called Tulum where they gave us a Jeep with a tourist guide from there we left in a group of 5 to 6 jeeps means we were like 15 to 20 people went in different jeeps but all together, at the Sian Kaan Island we had about 3 hours Boat Tour that was phenomenal we went into deep ocean where we saw dolphins, turtles and other type of fishes. When Boat tour was lasted we had lunch which included in a price of $136/PP. the beaches where the resort was outstanding, I would highly recommend this place because you are getting blast there, you are getting 24 hours snack bar, sport bars, every other night there are live shows, dance parties, pool table was another fun thing. I would love to go there again hopefully you would like too. "

"PRINT OUT ALL YOUR PAPERS THAT THEY EMAIL YOU FOR YOUR FLIGHT AND VOUCHERS YOU WILL NEED THEM (CARRY THEM WITH YOU ON YOUR FLIGHT) This was our first trip to Cancun and we picked this hotel based on the comments we read, and it it was great!!! Very nice and clean we had the honeymoon suite. Everyone was nice and helpful. Lots of things to do. Try to make the nights shows very fun. Need to visit Playa Del Carmen and 5th ave. the hotel provides free transport there and back. Everything about this place feels safe. Maybe bring swim shoes for the beach because of rocks ( a little rocky in some places) and your own goggles to see the fish etc. Food is really good and drinks. They take care of everything for you they bring you right to the hotel and back from the airport, it is all set up great. They have lots of things to do at the resort, very nice staff. Will go back!!!!"

Nancy,Sue,Peggy & Shirley from Norfolk, NE had this to say:
"Spent 5 nites from Jan 28th thru Feb 2nd,2009. What a beautiful place! We were so pleased with the rooms, all the grounds were kept so clean, and the food was wonderful! None of us ate anything that we didnt like. Such a great selection in each buffet and displayed so nicely too. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Never had to carry our luggage at all. The only thing we didnt like was getting fooled into a 3 hour high pressure sales job. But other than that, it was perfect! We all agreed, it would be fun to go back. Beach was so nice, just had to get up early to get a lounge chair. 80 degree weather every day. Beats our winter weather in Nebraska any day. "

Norma-Jean from L'Orignal, Ontariol, Canada had this to say:
"I have to say that this is such a fine resort. My husband & I flew our kids in for the week and we had a wonderful time. I would suggest staying 10 - 14 days so you can actually enjoy the whole resort and all the outside activities. We were glad about the 'No Hassel' taxi fares to outside Tulum/Playa/Xcaret etc. The staff were very efficient in securing whatever was needed. The eco surrounding the resort was beautiful and so well kept. Buffets were excellent and we were very impressed with the staff and service. If you like a great glass of wine, order a bottle, the wine by the glass is quite watered down! All in all, we will go back, great location to everywhere interesting. Regards, N-J"

Viola from Hickory, NC had this to say:
"Our stay was the first time out of the US. We was treated like royalty. Picked up from the air port in Cancun and driven in an air conditioned van to the resort. We then was greeted with nice drinks at the resort while our bags was taken by golf carts to our rooms. While staying at the resort we had the most wonderful time. We stayed 6 nights and 7 days. We visited a great water park called Xel-Ha. What a great place! Can you stand swimming with real sea animals lke turtles, sting rays, and fish that look like Nemo!!! It was wonderfull!!! We had a beach front room, loved the view. The resort was ALWAYS so very clean. Never would find sand in any pools. Staff was always eager to help you whenever needed. Security is very tight and always around, everywere. We only had two problems our whole stay...we went during the months of October and it was HOT!! The room did not get as cool as we would like it to get. The temp in the room would only get as cool as 75 degrees. During our departure there was so many people leaving that we had to carry our own bags to the bus at the front of the resort. That was very disapointing. The rest of our trip was the best ever and I do certainly recomend it to anyone, anywere."

Hannan from London, Canada had this to say:
"The trip was wonderful we had fun on the resort the only thing we did not like was the time share that we had to go through but other then that we had a blast the airport was a fair drive to the resort but we still were ok with that we had time to relax before getting there our check in was great being stopped at the airport by others was a little upsetting before we got to the pick up point when we arrived at the resort we were taken care of very well we had a blast there and would go back again the room had a odor to it maybe the mold was growning on the walls outside but we did put in a airfreshener and it did help when we were in the room so if you are going there bring along a can or a plug in it will help the food on the resort was great we did reservations at all three resturants and it was nice "

George Nesbitt from Quakake, Pa had this to say:
"We vacationed over the Memorial week of 2008. Out trip from the airport was fairly quick and pleasant. Checking in to the resort was friendly and fast. The staff helped us get our feet on the grond to let us know what was available with the speaciality restaurants and activities. The food was plentiful and varied and of good quality. The staff was very friendly. There is a free bus to and from Playa Del Carmen at the resort, in the morning to early afternoon. Shopping in Playa Del Carmen was varied and fairly inexpensive. The beach at the resort is acceptable but one must be carful for rocks in the water, water shoes would help you not get a sudden suprise when you step on the rocks. The shows were very entertaining. I took a trip to Coba to see the Myan ruins and had a great time. It is well worth the cost of the ticket. The weather when we were ther was very nice, warm but not too muggy. The other guest's were very friendly and from alot of different crountries. I would definitely like to return here for another vacation."
