"Stayed 12/11-12/17. Christmas with the kids, Had a great time, food and hotel staff was great and the other activities staff who made us feel welcome and showed us a great time. Stayed in the presidential suite as there was 6 of us, hot tub on balcony was extra nice, had problems with the safe but they were on top of it and fixed it. Had to pay twice for it as I didn't save receipt and they did not mark it paid, only downfall of resort. We had a great time and would go back again,"

"Hotel is guilty of false advertising. Our room did not have a refridgerator in it even though when we booked it online, it stated that it did. Every morning, smoke/exhaust fumes entered our ac duct for about an hour. Buffet food was repetitive and some was cold and poor quality. Maid left puddle of water on our floor which spread to a suit case soaking the clothes within it with who knows what kind of water. Hotel only provides you 2 bottles of water a day, if you want more bottled water you have to buy them. You can only reserve the 1 other restaurant 'el mirador' between 4-6pm the day of even though many nights we would see the restaurant almost empty. Beds are very poor. 1 of the 2 small pools was completely closed when we were there November 3-7th, 2012. The hotel didn't tell us anything about the pool being closed. No alarm clock in room. TV outdated. No ocean view, only a view of the lagoon. Pictures on website aren't accurate as there are neighboring hotels immediately to each side of this hotel which are 2 to 3 times the size of park royal. Right when you enter hotel, the 'Royal Holiday' sharks immediately try to get you to sign up for a 'free welcome' the following day where they basically waste your time trying to get you to sign up for their timeshare program. Don't do it. walk away. the hotel is clean and the workers were generally friendly. The grounds are maintained and clean. For the price, you can probably get a nicer room somewhere else. This place needs to update itself and improve on food offerings."

"All staff except front desk were great! Food was fresh and lots of options. Not that great if you are vegetarian. Even salads have meat.

This was my second visit to this hotel this year. Very small but good beach property and across from La Isla-aka. the place to get coffee since coffee at the hotel is way too weak.

Hotel rooms need updating and everything costs extra. No wifi, no safe box, etc."

"Overall, hotel and hotel room is very clean. We have a great ocean view from our Presidential suite. The only 2 problems are: 1) husband needs to work therefore bought the weekly WiFi internet rate of $79USD, however, it is extremely slow (by satellite?), cannot log on with 2 devices at the same time, and it keeps getting offline every minute on most days...2) They only give us shampoo and soap. So if you expect conditioner and hand cream, sorry, nothing else. I was very surprise of the limitation considering we booked the biggest and the most expensive room in the hotel!! Unfortunately, as long as we need WiFi to survive even for a week, we cannot go back to this hotel again because we are not confident that they would guarantee the WiFi capacity..."

"We loved the smaller size of this resort and the 'off season' quietness of this resort. The staff was 110% friendly all the time. Many knew our names and eating or drinking preferences after just a few days. The beach is outstanding..lots of sand, palapas, and kept very clean. We enjoyed the buffet very much and were impressed with the quality and quantity of choices.

Rooms are spartan but clean and have everything you need. Who wants to spend their time in the room when you are in paradise? Bathrooms are great, there is a safe in the room, and a small table and chairs.

Downsides were small and easy to live with. To be a perfect hotel we'd love to see these changes...1) Cushions for the beach loungers or the mesh kind. When you spend all day relaxing on the beach or poolside the hard plastic is not comfortable. 2) The beds were okay but not great and some in our group thought they were too hard. 3) The Convienience store would not take American money. The front desk would not exchange $ to pesos without your passport so unless you wanted to run up to your room to get your passport, come back down, wait in line, fill out the form to get the pesos, then finally go back to the store it was easier to just say forget it, I don't need an ice cream bar. 4) Although the food was tasty, it sometimes was just lukewarm or just plain cold. 5) Balconies would be heavenly."
