I might as well start off with the con because there isn't much. The only issue I had was that the room had a musty odor and we couldn't figure out why. Other than that everything else was great. The pools are a little small but they never seemed crowded and always had plenty of seating. The Italian restaurant was so good but the buffet is okay. The service at the buffet makes up for the descent food though. If anyone at this location reads this I would recommend getting some authentic Mexican f... Read more

The resort was clean and attractive. Our one bedroom room was a nice size and having 2 showers was helpful for my family of four. We had our children stay in the double beds and we took the Murphy bed. It was extremely too small for two adults and quite uncomfortable. There was also no balcony or view. We asked for an upgrade but we're denied. We also had no comfortable seating to relax. Just a table and chairs. There were no children's TV shows in English and wifi is about $20 per day per devic... I enjoyed our stay at the resort. The food was first class. Rooms were very nice. Staff was very helpful. I would go back and have just as good a time. Things I did not like were too many kids, the pools were over crowded with kids and no where to go to get away from them. Food service was limited, and attempt was made to have hamburgers and hot dogs available, but other resorts have a buffet open when main dinning was closed. I needed a fridge in my room to have cold drinks without going to the... Read more

The resort is very clean and we paid extra for the presidential suite. Everything else was disappointing. Mostly Spanish speaking guests. Food was not good. Beds were hard. The one and only specialty restaurant they have you have to have slacks for men and a dress or slacks for the women. My husband didn't bring slacks so he made a trip to the local Wal Mart. Believe me, his Khaki shorts look much nicer on him than the slacks he bought at Walmart. In Mexico they don't have the pants in length. ... Read more

When my wife and I got to the hotel we were ask to to review a travelers package for 90 minutes we would then get three excursions, whether we say yes or no it was no obligation! Though we are a loyal and long member of RCI. We did for two hours and some change they refused to take no as an answer they got mad and let us go once I was frustrated and said enough! Next day when my wife went to make the excursion trips we were told we had to pay extra, because it wasn't included. I was livid and we... Read more

We've been enjoying the Park Royal since we joined RHC in 1990, staying in a Presidential Suite with family. A few years ago, the furniture was changed. Now there's no dresser in either Presidential or Royal Suites. No vacationer should have to live out of a suitcase. I have also requested a clothes pole be built in the small closet under the safe in the living room for the other family members.

We arrived in the evening and were greeted by a giant fabricated construction wall, which blocks the beach and it's view from the resort! Only one half of the pool was usable and the kiddie play pool pictured is under construction. The rooms have a musty motel smell and have less than desirable pepto bismol colored walls. What you see on this website is not what you get.The staff was very understanding of our disappointment, however not helpful or accommodating. We called our own taxi and upgrad... Read more

My parents have been coming here for 27+ years. To mine and my siblings surprise, they "re-upped" for several more years. My wife and I finally were able to join mom and dad 5 years ago....it didn't take long to see why they come back. Don't get me wrong...we love 5-Star resorts just like most tripadvisor readers....this is not 5-star. But, it is home. My dad just passed and my mom said she needs to go back. Our intended stay was for seven days though we left on the third day. The remodeling of the resort was very distracting, the rooms were very dated (old), the furniture was very poor (clipped my fingers on the drawers because they would not open or close easily) and though the room was in a non-smoking area the room smelled of cigarettes. The relocation to another room was better though not much better. The management staff was very helpful, but the resort needs to be updated to match the valia... Read more

Resort was average ~ alot of construction going on ~ so hopefully upgrades will be worth it! Were supposed to check in by 3 p.m. ~ didn't get into room until after 4! Lighting in rooms is HORRIBLE! Had no water pressure in shower nor any cold water the first day or all week in hot tub! Maid walked in room even though the DO NOT DISTURB sign was on door! Food was abundant, but bland.

Staff in the restaurants were very friendly and helpful. Front desk was very inexperienced. Room itself like a motel six. Conversations could be heard from next rooms and other activities. One electrical outlet in room. No frig or coffee maker. Definitely not what I would call a 4 star hotel-must be different in Mexico. Will never return to this hotel.
