"We had a wonderful time at the Paradisus, we are a group of 8 that travel the hotel zone looking for the perfect resort. Resort was beautiful and well kept...the downside is that 'all inclusive' is not exactly 'all inclusive'...areas for VIP members including a pool. Palpala's not enough of them at the pool with the pool bar is...I have blisters to vouch for it....they are reserved for members and if members don't show up by noon, there is a waiting list or bidding war for it...sun was very hot! Food was mediocre at best in the buffet area..Also in the restuarants it is difficult to get any wine more than the house wine.. Also don't understand why no Corona at the resort??? Sprite seemed to be something that was hard to get replenished in room fridge, one can at a time! But still for the upside, the resort was beautiful and the weather hot and we had a great time. Resort needs more shade places near the pool bar and All inclusive should mean just that...."

"Upon checking in we were early and they said our room wasn't ready until checkin 3pm then it was going to be another hour! Best Day sets you up to get your excursion voucher and transportation voucher back to the airport at 4:30, wasted my first day at the hotel. The all inclusive states specialty and imported beverages included, there is NO Corono! We're in Mexico how is there no Corono? They have Grey Goose Vodka but it's hidden at the bar you have to ask for it. My boyfriend saw the bartender open a new bottle and then the waitress brought him another drink and said it was the last of the Grey Goose. There should never be a last of anything it's all-inclusive! The food in the buffet was always cold and the desserts were warm, NO ice cream anywhere! I've never been to a beach resort that didn't have ice cream served at the buffet or restaurants. I found a piece of plastic in my vegetable at the buffet and they didn't seem to care. The wine selection is very poor. I could only get the house Cabernet at Vento and Blue Agave restaurant, it wasn't even available at the Avenue Bar which is the main bar in the hotel. The best day representative was not very helpful with info for our excursion to Tulum/Xel-Ha, she rolled her eyes when I asked what I needed to bring with me. Once your on the bus they tell you that you can only use biodegradable sunscreen at xel-ha and you can buy it at Tulum. A 3oz. Bottle will cost you $13USD! Ridiculous!! The website says you can get snorkel gear with a $20 deposit or your license but that's not true ether it's $25 deposit that's it, so we didn't have enough $$ with us at Tulum to buy a snack or anything because we needed $50 for snorkel gear and spent our other $$ buying sunscreen. We should have been told about it before hand. There are not enough lounge chairs on the beach and especially not enough under shaded palapas. We had to get up on our vacation before 8:30am to reserve a chair. Our elevator was out one day so we had to walk up 6 flights to get to our room. I hung a sundress with a bathing suit on the bathroom door on Sunday and didn't remove it until thursday night when I was packing to find bleach stains on my dress. I brought it down when I was checking out Friday morning but the housekeeping manager wasn't there so I had to write a note and sign it. The hotel emailed me to say unlucky for me that I didn't say something sooner the ony compensation for my dress is an upgrade to an ocean view room but I got that for free myself when I booked through book it, so they weren't doing anything for me.
Overall I would rate the hotel a 3 star not 4.5 I think the site should be more detailed in their all-inclusive description."

"We just returned from a week at the Paradisus resort in Cancun. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is good, there is more than enough to choose from at every meal. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The liquor is top shelf and flows freely. The best thing going for them is the outstanding service ! Everyone, and I mean everyone , from the maid to check in person, and everyone in between, was courteous, efficient, and professional. These folks work their tails off to make sure you have everything you could possibly need. We upgraded to royal service, and they delivered ! While sitting at the pool, or beach, staff frequently offered drinks, towels, fresh fruit, and even cold, wet, scented, rolled washrags to wipe your face ! We frequently roamed all areas of the hotel and the staff were fabulous everywhere. Only two things could have been better. The weather was not the greatest , but you cant control that, and they need a bit of entertainment at the hotel. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to visit again. Kudos to you Paradisus on your excellent service :)"

"I have stayed at the Gran Melia many times so this was my first time staying since they switched to Paradisus. Have to say it was even better. The food was far better and by changing to All Incl for everyone, it made everything smoother--no more signing tabs. We hung out in the grille area the most for our meals. As a couple we preferred the quieter areas where kids were less likely to hang out and really enjoyed having music and shows at night. Only downside was anything you needed from the Check-in desk took waaayyy longer than it should. But if that was the only downside then I can't complain. Employees were all friendly and helpful whenever possible, even when we had a language barrier. I would definitely recommend."

"We just returned from Paradisus on February 27th with a group of 8. Tjhis was our first time at this family of resorts and the experience was super! We normally stay in Riviera Maya however, having 2 teenage boys on Spring break, we opted for an area that was closer to the heart of the nightlife. Check in was easy (although it was a Thursday) but our room was not ready until 4:30, no big deal, we just went to the pool bar and had some snacks and drinks. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our room; the ocean and pool views were awesome. All of our rooms were in the main building and all had the same beautiful views. As far as the rooms are concerned, the bathrooms need more water pressure and the air conditioning could be a bit cooler. Room service menu is limited, would liked to have had the option for a pasta dish and/or salad. The restaurants were very good with the exception of Mole, this was NOT good and I would not recommend it. The buffet is average to good, typical all inclusive type food but appreciated how clean and organized it was kept. We tried to eat at the Asian restaurant (Bana)on a couple of different occasions after being told we did not need reservations for this restaurant by staff at the pool bar; we were turned away 2 times therefore, we were never able to try the one restaurant that we had all looked forward to trying. While at Paradisus, we were sold on a spa treatment for the cost of $165 US which included several spa ammenities (sauna, steam room, pressure shower, hydrotherapy pool, facial, massage); I have to say that this was very disappointing and if I had to do it over again I would just go straight to the massage. The hydrotherapy pool is in need of an update and the area didn't appear to be kept up very well, the 'relaxing area' had sheets on the beds that were wet from previous spa goers, the sauna was just that, as was the steam shower. The massage was wonderful but the facial was nothing more than a couple of cold rocks placed on my eyelids and cheeks; basically we paid $165 US for a swedish massage, so my opinion would be to stick with a specific spa treatment from the menu...don't get talked into the 'special package' because you will be overpaying. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at Paradisus, the grounds were beautiful, loved the closeness of the ocean, the pool bar and the service. The liquor was top shelf and for the most part the food was very good. Our group of 8 which included 2 male teens (18 & 19) enjoyed the resort very much. The pool staff were awesome, and though tipping is not required, it really should be considered if you are getting good service, these guys and gals work very hard for their guests (its ok to carry $ in your swimsuit, the staff doesn't mind, it dries). Though we have always prefered the area of Riviera Maya/Playa Del Carmen....we will definately go back to Paradisus Cancun in the future."

"First time to Mexico and an all inclusive resort. The resort was fantastic looking but our room was not ready at check in and we were told to wait about an hour. After that time still only had room with twin bed and we wanted a king. was told we would be able to change the next day. Could not unpack but made it through it. Our other members in our group the next day also had the same wait and room switch. Feel this is the standard at check in.
Other than that the food and the staff really do try to assist in any way."

"The Paradisus Cancun was a beautiful resort! Check in was fast and easy, and we were given an ocean view room upgrade. After check-in we met our personal concierge for our stay and he gave us a quick tour and tried to get us to sign up for a bunch of activities, I wish it would have just stopped at the quick tour, because it wasted about an hour of our time. He was extremely helpful throughout our stay though.

Our room was amazing, the bed was horrible though.

The buffet food was good, the rest of the restaurants not so much. I wasn't pleased with the food at all. It was easy to get reservations for dinner, and even the one day we forgot to make a reservation we were able to get in to one.

The beach was perfect! There was no problem getting a chair on the beach and service was great. We didn't spend much time at the pool, but it was beautiful and huge!

My main complaint was that the nights were so boring! The only bars that remain open are the dance club and the lounge, and both are inside. I can sit in a dance club back home, in Mexico I want to be able to hang out outside! The lounge didn't stay open too late and then your only option was the dance club, which we didn't even go into.

We enjoyed our vacation at Paradisus Cancun. I would not return, only because I prefer a different type of resort."
