"The staff was great and always friendly. The rooms not so great, and didn't have washcloths and few times no bath mat. The food was not good and after six days tired of the same thing over and over. Location isn't the greatest and hotel by 8:00pm pretty dead. Was not informed of day light savings time change and missed or van to airport and had to spend more money for cab."

Ocean view is an additional $30.00 per night.
One other thing that seems odd was they would not allow friends to visit the hotel unless they were staying there. We had friends that came into town a few nights before we left and they would not let them in with us to see our hotel.
It also lists that they have a hot tub, but don't expect it to be heated. It is air heated.

"My fiance and I went to Krystal to celebrate our new engagment. We were skeptical about using a discount travel site and after reading some of the reviews... but we were very pleasantly surprised! Starting at the beginning: we pre-payed for a shuttle through a travel site as well, which worked out great. It was super easy to find at the airport, only had 3 stops along the way and the drivers were very personable and helpful. Returning to the airport, the shuttle was a few minutes late - so keep that in mind when booking your return shuttle. When we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel right away. It was very pretty, clean, tons of bellboys ready to help at the door. We were informed of everything available through the all-inclusive plan at check-in and went straight to dinner at the main restaurant. The food there was ok. The staff was nice but slow. The room was nice and clean, the shower was wonderful, and there was a beautiful view. The pools were clean and well maintained, however, there is no Jacuzzi available. The beach was beautiful... crystal clear waters and soft sand. There are plenty of lounge chairs and lounge bed things available for guests. The bar/food service on the beach was slow but the food options were great and the food was good too. The Sushi bar was disappointing because only a few options are included in the 'all-included', and calling those options sushi was a stretch... I dont think any of it was actual raw fish. But it was ok none-the-less. The Mortero Restaurant was wonderful.. definitely get a margarita and fresh-made tortillas! The Italian restaurant was also great! After the first night, we decided to try the smaller restaurant next to the beach. It was MUCH better and although it was the same food, it seemed to taste better, due to the atmosphere. We had an issue with our reservation and spoke with to the guy at the front desk. He was SUPER helpful and went completely out of his way to save us money. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to our friends and family. It was a great deal at a beautiful resort."

"The beach at the Krystal is the best. The staff are all friendly with the exception of one or two. However, they don't always follow through with what they say they'll do. We only had washcloths one time even though I requested them. The food was pretty good but very limited. The beds and chairs on the beach were pretty dirty, I think they should wash them several times a week. The rest of the property was clean. We don't drink alcohol but always enjoy non alcoholic drinks when we go to an all inclusive. They were awful! The walls must be very thin because we were woken up every morning to a bunch of little kids crying every morning at 6. We'd try going back at least one more time and hopefully we'll like it even more."

Pool was clean, beach was AWESOME, A great value.... Rooms were ok, bed not the greatest. MY NOTE to everyone: If you are note interested in timeshare DO NOT let them sway you into THE TOUR.... I Just say NO! My husband and I were NOT happy with them upon arrival. We didn't book the special deal so we were NOT obligated and they were VERY pushy.... the first day was brutal, but after that they left us alone.

"Everything was good except for the constant renovation work during the entire time we were there. On Friday day night they worked throughout the night. Paris the public relations guy that comments on tripadvisor, told us that he would have special amenities brought to the room for our 20th anniversary but it never happened. The good: food, room service, ocean view, the beach The not so good; The 18 hour per day renovations, so bad we had to sleep with the patio door closed, which defeated the purpose of having an ocean view room. Rooms in the older tower show signs of wear. I would go back but spend a few bucks more and request a room in the newer tower and would go with the Krystal Club upgrade."

"If I could have given a zero to staff friendliness and staff efficiency, I would have. We were excited to book this resort because of the awesome location. That was the ONLY good thing. I feel bad writing a bad review because I work in the hospitality industry, but I was so disappointed and spent too much money not to let people know.
The staff were the worst, did not look us in the face and made every effort to avoid serving guests. The food was not worth the thousands of dollars that we paid. The one upside was the restaurant OFF the resort that was included. The beer and beverages were always warm, the food was not. The pool bar closes by 7. The lobby bar is the only one to stay open until midnight. Security was so tight that you were not allowed on the beach at night. No night swimming as the pool is closed at 7 and you can't get on the beach.
Overall, we were so dissappointed, and not one person asked how the trip was so that we could express our feelings. The fitness center is totally broken and scary. The toilet didn't work.
I am only writing this so no one else is as disappointed as we were. It was such a bummer becasue we were so exicted. If you are looking for location, book the Riu or Dreams next door. Same great location."
"Overall, the Krystal resort in cancun was a good deal for the price we paid. For us, (a group of 4 22 yr olds) appreciated that it was so close to all of the best clubs (literally a 2 min walk to Cocco bongos, mandala, the city, senor frogs, palazzo, cabbana beach club, hooters, etc.) So for that, it was convenient. However, the staff did not meet my expectations as far as friendliness. A few of the staff members approached our group at different times in an attempt to sell us odd things of their own. The breakfast buffet was delicious but for some reason the lunch and dinner buffets were disgusting. The El Mortero restaurant down the road included in the all inclusive package was very good. I wish the pools had been heated. Room service did not have much to offer and often took upwards of an hour to come to the room. I encountered a rather rude staff member in the dining room while i was eating breakfast alone one morning. I had to tell him to leave me alone. The bartenders at the lobby bar were very nice. They were both women and seemed the happiest out of all the staff members. The cleaning women were also very pleasant. The air conditioners in the room were very loud. it was weird. The beach bar was really cool. they played music all day and were quick. There is a volleyball net on the beach that is fun to use. The beach beds and umbrellas were awesome. I would refer a friend just because of how cheap yet clean it was. But i myself would not go back. And with sooooo many hotels in the 'hotel zone' there, Im sure I could find somewhere else that meets all of my expectations even if it means spending a little extra."
