We had a great girls trip. The staff was very friendly. I recommend the bat on the beach. Alfonso is a fantastic bartender. Itzel was great at making us feel welcome. The shows were fun and the shops in the hotel were convenient.

I loved it. The staff were so friendly. The were so happy. Only a few stand out and I wish I could remember their names but I will be back. I was impressed with this younger bartender. I'm not a drinker. So I don't know what kind of drinks to even begin to order. But He kept making drinks for us to taste test. I really liked that. He didn't make me feel like I was some complicated visitor. He just kept the drinks coming and we had a blast. The staff inside the buffet area and the grill were so a... Read more

Best part of staying here was it was with friends. The food was average at best. Don't get me wrong, your on the beach in Cancun, with plenty to drink. It has all the basics you need to get some sun and have some fun. But it is operated at the margins, deferring maintenance, replacement, etc.. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a nice ocean view. If you get a deal and are on a budget, this place will work nicely. We will likely not be back.

Lovely resort. Met some really nice people and the drinks were awesome. City buses are only $1 usd and the average taxi ride is $13 usd. The flea market for souvenirs is a hassle. Picachu is their club promoter and awesome! Club La Vaquita for hip hop music. Had a blast and will definitely go back to this resort.

Food excellent, staff really helpful and friendly. Room ok but needs updating. Daytime entertainment very good, staff always keeping guests involved in pool games. Evening entertainment very poor, after 110.30 nothing to do. Pool area and staff excellent always keeping drinks topped up. Would stay again if evening entertainment improved. Overall enjoyed our stay at GP.

My wife and I went with a group of friends on Nov. of 2015. This is our 6 or 7th trip to the Cancun area. We have stayed at Secrets The Vine (right next door), three of the Riu's, and a place down in Playa del Carmen. This hotel was the smallest out of all of them. But, I have to say the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pros: Small resort, so you get to know the guest and staff. Food was good. The Old Barn was good as well. The air conditioning didn't work. If you are looking to drink alcohol the only thing really available is very cheap sweet drinks. No American beer at all. The service you Get at The Golden Is the Best! The Staff is the Main reason we always return. The Staff is always smiling and willing to help you and they truly treats us like Family. The only complaint that our group of 12 had was the air in some of the rooms was not as cold as they would have hoped for. The Food is Good and the Hotel is located in a perfect Spot. The staff in the restaurants were first class. To name just some of the outstanding staff: Gaspar, Jesus, Fernando, Oscar, Gama, Pedro, Samuel, Yamel, Carlos and Leslye. The food quality and the variety in all the restaurants was excellent. The proximity to the beautiful clean beach and turquoise water was great. We stayed from Oct. 26-31, I thought it was a nice hotel. It was small and not fancy but it had a nice laid back atmosphere. The staff was excellent and the rooms were clean. The food was very good, we especially enjoyed the Paradise restaurant for breakfast and the steak restaurant for dinner. We even ordered room service a couple of times and it was very good and delivered fast. We loved the pool and the activities around the pool but wished they offered more for evening entertainment. Ok..this was my 1st time staying here. As many reviews show the place is a little outdated as far as decor goes. As far as staff, I can not say enough good things about them. From check in, housekeepers, bar staff, and restaurant waiters ( at the buffet ask for Pedro) he is awesome. Great location and ocean views. The outdated decor should not be a reason to stay here.

We had been 4 years ago, loved the resort. This July we brought our adult children, a big mistake. We were very disappointed to find out they had broken ties with the Great Parnassus, the family friendly resort. So they were allowing all the kids stay at the Golden. This is the information we were given at the front desk when we complained about the kids. There were 50 or more teens with chaperones, so the were under 18, all over the resort. After many emails with the travel agent and the reso... Read more

I love coming here! The staff is very friendly and eager to help. We were very well taken care of. When we arrived we were greeted with "welcome home!" This was our 4th time at the Golden Parnassus. We stayed at the Great Parnassus last year and were treated poorly. We have an RCI membership there. We went to ask a few questions about the membership and the man tried to sell us more and when we declined he cursed at us even dropping the "F" bomb. The Golden Parnassus is Wonderful! Only th... Look, you're looking at this hotel because the price is right (am i right?). If this is your honeymoon or momentous occasion id suggest you look elsewhere. However, if you're looking to relax on the beach and have GREAT drinks brought to you, then this is the place. My husband and I wanted a no frills relaxing beach vacation and that's exactly what we got at the Golden Parnassus. Was not happy that we were not allowed to go to the Great Parnassus even though when we booked the hotel, thats what was promised and thats one of the reasons we booked it. Everything was "pretty good," though not much was outstanding. The staff is the exception. They were all extremely friendly and helpful. The food, drink, room quality, and facilities were acceptably good, but didn't "wow" us. We felt it was a little loud at bedtime, but we did understand that this is a resort and people were there to let their hair down a bit. Still, there are measures that could be taken to mitigate this. All the rooms open on the central atrium which houses a popular bar. The ... Read more
