"compared to other all-inclusive's had limited food selection. There was also no nightlife or entertainment after 7:00, place turns into a ghost town. However our goal was to go sit by beach/pool relax and have a few cocktails and it was perfect for that. Was not very crowded, easy to find chairs/cabana's. Drinks served fast at pool bar. Is a good resort but with so many other options (where they don't try to sell you a time share every time you walk past someone) I will be staying somewhere else for my next trip."

"The rooms were clean and the food was better than my experiences at several other resorts. The front desk staff does not speak great English and is not friendly. There are two restaurants that require reservations. You can only make the reservations between noon-3pm and must line up at the door to make them--no calling ahead. The don't serve very many people at once and find that very annoying since more people could be enjoying the food."

"Staff is very rude and unwelcoming, the hotel itself is small, the rooms are tiny and outdated, and the food is sub-par. The rooms were not that much better than a motel room in the states and were about the same size. The interior decorating was terrible. Room service took about an hour, even for a water bottle and they were too strict. For example, if you want a grilled cheese sandwich from the room service menu, you need to wait until after 11:00 pm because that is the only time they prepare a grilled cheese sandwich the entire day. Just ridiculous. For a 'five star' hotel, I expect better. Especially when you can stay at a much nicer hotel in the Riviera Maya for much cheaper and way better service. I regret ever stepping foot in that hotel! Never again!"

"Excellent hotel with great service. Pool entertainment was great. Hotel was clean and the staff were all helpful and friendly. I loved the location of the hotel.... very close to all the bars. It is a bit of a walk but definitely do able.
The food at the restaurants were better than expected. However, I did not like that you had to make reservations ONLY between 12:00 PM - 3:00PM.... this was a problem on the days that we were on a tour since we left early and didn't get back to hotel until around 5:00PM. The buffet breakfast was delicious. However, I did not like the dinner selection.

"Honestly, I was very disappointed with several issues. First, it's not possible you don't have a sports bar where I could see the soccer games from the European cup. I had to go to an outside bar to watch the games and pay for my drinks. Second, I had to pay for internet access for the entire stay. Third, you only have two nice restaurants to eat different food from the buffetts. By the way, the oriental restaurant was excellent, the food and the service were great."

"We stayed at this hotel last weekend for the two days we could get babysitting back home. The hotel had beautiful grounds, pools, and beach area. There were 'fun' pools ('all fiesta, no siesta') and quiet ones (with swim-up bar and 'sleeping competition'). The staff were all very nice though few things happen quickly when you need something. The 'nice' sit-down restaurants were beautiful and quite well done although it seemed they were artificially limiting the reservations they would take (they would tell you they only had one opening at a certain time slot, and when you get there, the place was only a quarter full). The rooms were very nice, and everything was very clean. Only major gripe: when you check in, they assign you a welcome escort. You think this person is going to show you the grounds. Actually s/he is a timeshare or vacation membership sales person about to launch into a painful soft/hard sell to get you to show up at an early (by vacation standards) morning sales tour. We did not commit and yet he had the nerve to call our room at 8:30 am on a Saturday morning. Since we actually had PAID for this trip, we did not appreciate them forcing the sales on us (it's not as if we agreed to a sales presentation in exchange for a free trip). You can't walk in or out of the hotel without the sales people trying to accost you. Too much, in my view. But, overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would go back."

"The hotel was excellent. No hotel is going to be perfect. This hotel exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food was very good, and the staff were friendly and eager to assist with our every need. The only downside was that we had children ages 1,3, and 5, and were not allowed to dine at the two 'menu' restaurants which my wife and I could understand. Our room was upgraded upon our arrvial which was also well accepted. The beach was also very clean. The only other observation was that I noticed the collection of foam on two occassions in a particular area of the pool so I would suggest for the pool to be fully chlorinated and cleaned every night. Otherwise, this hotel provides value for the money you spend. I would return to this hotel and recommend it to anyone."

"I just returned from the GPR and I have to say it was amazing. The staff was awesome and the grounds were continually being cleaned. The food was ok, and the drinks were great! Ladies please try the strawberry mojito's that I made them make for me for the whole week. My room was spacious and they cleaned it everyday as well as stocked the mini bar (sodas, water, coronas, and coffee. The only con for me was that none of my friends from other resorts were able to visit me. This resort is very family, and couple oriented. If you are traveling alone this resort is also a plus; with a 5min ride on the $1 bus downtown you will never be bored. Other than that I had a memorable time and I will be returning to this resort again and again. Tip: Make sure you tip these people because they work very hard to keep this resort clean and maintained as well as catering to all our needs."

"Here are some of the wins and opportunities for the Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe. We stayed at the resort for 5 days.
Wins: Great location on the strip (many restaurants and events)
The beachfront was very beautiful and very well maintained. We had a priviledge room facing the ocean and the room was clean and accomodations nice. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds were maintained and very clean. The buffet was nice but needed to show some more flair. Possible create more of a tropical atmosphere and food presentation.
The Italian Resturant was very nice and relaxing. However, you can get the same food at the buffet? The roof top bar had a very nice view of the strip.
Opportunities: The lobby is way too small and did not have a grand exciting entrance. Their was no room for guests arriving and departing. The cafe was a waste of space. No bottled water and coffee was made from a cheap dispenser. The snacks were only desserts from the buffet. Not one item was different from their buffet. Past experiences at other resorts had specialty snacks and desserts in their cafe. The music was very depressing throughout the pool and bar areas. Almost everyone felt the same about the music. I didn't see any 80 year old customers at the resort, so why the depressing music? This should be addressed at this resort. The lobby bar was very stagnant and gloomy. No excitement or any up lifting attractions. However, the bartenders were very nice and made some great drinks. If you are looking for complete relaxation and no distractions this is the place for you. If you want something more exciting you need to go elsewhere."

"Pros: Very clean, large rooms in the Royal Tower, fast room service, clean and beautiful grounds, large beach, 2 pools (one for activities (i.e. loud music) and one adult), friendly service, nice bar on top of the Italian restaurant, showers in the Royal Tower room are AWESOME (4 different shower heads); hotel is just big enough that you can walk from one end to the next fairly quickly. Cons: Have to pay for gym ($8/day/person), no free Wifi, reservations for dinner at the Italian or Oriental restaurant need to be made the day of and between 12-3, so if you have activities planned (e.g. Chichen Itza tours are all day 7am-7pm), you cant eat at those restaurants - we didnt get to try the oriental restaurant bc of this; food at the restaurants were OK, not great; One of the nights we just ended up going to Lorenzillos, a 5 min walk south of the hotel, bc we couldn't get a reservation - highly recommend this restaurant - GREAT food and service. WATCH out for the sales people asking you if you want to sit through a 1.5 hour presentation about the 'concierge' services (really time share presentations), I've read that they will keep you up to 3 hours - they tried to lure my parents, then when I arrived to the hotel a few hours later and told the representative that my parents no longer wanted to do it, she would harass us every time we walked by, literally yelling at us across the hallway; my advice, just say no off the bat or you'll be harassed. Not enough beach chairs on the beach."

Only one thing we were disappointed was a restaurant of oriental food. Although its interior furnishing was fashionable, their food and wine were not good. "We stayed in the adult/quiet part of the hotel and it was fantastic. Very clean room, view was amazing and the pool is just perfect. I recommend it! PROS- food at Italian restaurant is great. Grounds are very clean. Although we couldn't do late check out (hotel was fully booked), we were allowed to keep our all inclusive bracelet and have full use of the facilities. Overall friendly staff- see below for exceptions. Very courteous staff. CONS- Buffet at Cocay was generally bad (except for breakfast). Seems like the hotel only allows a very limited number of reservation for Italian or oriental restaurant, even though they are always half empty. One of the waiters at the Italian restaurant was creepy and inappropriate. And the loud side of the hotel looks very different and is definitely NOT high class. Cheesy games, loud music and drunken frat boys. Sadly, the buffet restaurants are located in that part of the hotel."

"Pretty much exactly as advertised. Overall very happy with our time at this resort. A couple of things to know. They are serious about the 12 and under and pants for men and boys at the Italian and Oriental restaurant. They actually made somone in our party go back and get a passport to prove that their daughter was 12. "This is our first ever all-inclusive vacation outside the U.S. We found this hotel on the list with 4Diamond Award. We figured that it is better to go to a hotel with a good reputation. This hotel/resort met and exceeded our expectations. From the rooms, staff, service, cleanliness, and the food, they really deserved the award. We have been recommending this resort to our friends and relatives. If we were to go back to Cancun, we will be staying at this hotel again."

"Thank you to the staff and management of the Grand Park Royal. We had a dream vacation at the Royal Tower. The food was incredibly delicious and presentation was artful and pleasing. The staff was sincere and friendly as well as professional. The view of the beach from our room was amazing! On our final day while waiting for transportation to the airport I left my camera on a couch in the lobby. I do not know how but the staff remembered us and set the camera aside with our name. I was able to have the camera shipped within 24 hours. The attention to detail at this resort is impeccable! I will be returning. Thank you again for a great experience."

"The reception desk personnal were not as helpful as the other staff at the hotel. Otherwise the staff in the rest of the hotel were great.
The room was not as wonderful as last year. It had a much smaller balcony and view limitedby the rooms on both sides of ours."

"Quick review of our stay at the Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe. Had an ocean front room that provided a beautiful view. Room housekeeping was average as we had to ask for items several times. Exterior grounds were immaculate - there was always someone sweeping, wiping, scrubbing, cutting, organizing, etc. Outside layout provided plenty of pool space, activities, private lounging areas, and a small kids area. Buffet was good for all 3 meals with constant replacing of food. Overall staff was very friendly and accomodating. Biggest complaints: Room air conditioning poor / intermittent, each bartender had their own version of the same drinks, obvious presence of timeshare reps in the restaurant with prospects, and the 2 reservation restaurants booked too quickly.

"This hotel surpassed my expectations for a resort by a million miles. I work for a very nice hotel so I have a habit of visiting other properties and judging their facilities and services...II couldn't find one thing wrong. My room was breath-taking and located in the heart of all the activity and beach!!!! I only had one complaint and that was that there was no red bull...ended up being wrong because they sell it in the store. WOW FACTOR
Overall, the staff is what made the resort stand out. The activities staff with Carlos, Gustavo, Diego, Benjamin (PAULY D!) Monique, and the rest, they all made my trip AMAZING! Giovanni was the best bartender! I will come back just because of them. We did not leave the resort except to party at night because we were so busy during the day! From tequila volleyball to water polo, there was never a dull moment.
The resort is heaven on earth. THE FOOD WAS TOO GOOD TO BE ALL INCLUSIVE. I felt like royalty and family at the same time, which is truly AUTHENTIC HOSPITALITY. I cannot say enough about this resort other than..I don't usually go back to the same place but when I go to Cancun..there is only one place, and that is the Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe! If you are looking for a place of no worry and true vacation, come here. See yal soon!

"in the 13 times we have been in Cancun, this is the first time we have been in a such a horrible hotel rooms. They are tiny and old. the bathtub clogged every day. ThERE ARE NO MINI BARS. The only thing good was the food.
this horrible facility does not offer nightly shows like every single resort in Cancun, especially all-inclusive hotels. the manager RONALD was so nasty and helpless with us. He did not want to change the rooms unless we paid him $150 more per night. He had a nasty and unfriendly attitude. Even hotel staff made negative commnets on him. Thre are three old lady there that sell time share and they're so annoying and get nasty if you do not do whatver they ask you to.
in overall, this was a waste of my money and vacation time. I expected a better compensation from BOOKIT for this missarable week we espent there. Only 10% discount of a future hotel reservation does not fix this loss of my money and time."

"We were there during Hurrican Rina, not fun. The weather was not the fault of the resort, but we had our flight out cancelled and had to stay additional days but receiven no deal on a rate to stay.
We were in the main building where the front desk is, and our room seemed dated, and not that attractive. The room must have shared ventilation with other rooms, and we could smell cigarett smoke in our room from time to time. The restaurant choices were okay once, but the choices got old really quick.
The beach is big, and beautiful, the pools were good, the help works really hard, but for my money I wouldn't choose this place again."

"I was looking for an easy week-long getaway and the Grand Park Royal was just that! One of the cleanest and most well-maintained resorts I've ever stayed at. The staff was also very friendly. I stayed in the ocean-front premiere building. It was a perfect location where I could be quiet and relax when I wanted. However, there were always plenty of fun things going on when I wanted to be more social. The food at the buffet was much better than I expected with some things (soups and desserts especially) being top-notch. My only criticisms would be that the premiere building only offered two beds in the room (one king would have been nice), the bed was a little hard, and the massage at the spa was one of the worst I've ever had (I'm in the massage business so I get a lot). Go to this resort and I can't imagine you won't have a great time! Also, the booking of the room and airport transfer on BookIt.com was easy, exact, and an overall great deal. First time to use this website and first time at this resort - I'd do both again in a heartbeat!"

"I recently returned from this amazing all-inclusive hotel after spending 3 nights with my close girlfriend. Everything was easily arranged with Best Day shuttle service from the airport and to the hotel, that was offered by BookIt. When we arrived we were offered MangoColida iced drinks and our baggage was taken to the room. We stayed in the deluxe premier ocean view room and it was worth it! The view was amazing, room spacious with very nice balcony overlooking the clear blue ocean. Great bathroom with double sink (nice for two girls getting ready nightly), 3-rain shower heads, separate toilet area. The pool area with balinese beds was where we spent the full 3 days lounging, drinking endless tropical drinks at the swim-up pool bar, reading, sleeping, talking to other guests, and of course joking around with the social chair guy. The beaches were extremely well taken care of and one evening my friend and I found a baby sea turtle and took it to the ocean! Pictures to prove it! Food was endless and delicious. Felt very safe on the grounds and beaches. Highly recommended for those that don't even care to leave the resort, since we didn't have to :)"

"First time, My friends and I went to Cancun , and we chose Grand Park Royal to stay. The staffs were very nice and professional. The room was very clean and nice but should has a plat TV because this ia a four diamonds resort. The food was good but the menu was very poor if people stay there more than 7 days. The food at the Oriental restaurant was not good , should cook better. "

"My husband and I chose Cancun Caribe on a whim for our honeymoon destination and we were beyond satisfied! The staff, food, room, and view were all above expectation! For the price, we really weren't expecting much but now we recommend Cancun Caribe to all of our friends. Each and every staff member were beyond attentive.
