"The resort is about 30-40 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen. A large expansive resort that offers a lot of amenities. It is about a 5 minute shuttle bus ride to the beach. The shuttles run to the beach every 10 minutes. Resort has five a-la-carte restaurants where reservations must be made. I would go ahead and take care of reservations first thing after check-in. This is done at the Hospitality desk located to the right of the lobby counter. They have two buffet restaurants and two snack bars, one open 24 hours. Then of course your bars, one in lobby, and two swim-up bars. They have two large swimming pools, one designated for activities going on throughout the day. Every night they have entertainment right outside lobby bar, with live music and dancing that is family orientated. Every Thursday this resort has an authentic Mexican night that is held at the Town Square area from 8pm-10pm. Cost is $15 per person to attend and it is definitely well worth the experience and fun. The rooms are either pool or garden view with king or double bed accommodations. The rooms are decent size and also have a sofa bed. They come with either a balcony or terrace as well. If you want to avoid walking long distances, pool view room is way to go. The resort does have an inner shuttle service that runs inside resort. Golfing is also included during your stay, just pay for the cart, and shuttle service is provided. This resort is a good all-around resort for families or couples.

"I stayed at the Bahia Principe Coba with my sister and boyfriend for 6 days and despite initial reservations about staying at an all inclusive resort, we had a fantastic time and felt it really was a bit like paradise! The room was large and clean and had a lovely view over the pool. The mini bar was always stocked and there was even champagne waiting on our arrival. The resort pools were fantastic and there were plenty of activities throughout the days and evenings as well as quieter areas for those who just want to relax. All the staff were lovely and did their best to make our stay perfect. The buffet was extensive and there was plenty of choice both in the buffet and of al a carte restaurants. Make sure to book your al a carte restaurants on arrival as they fill up quickly. Only negatives are that the beds and pillows are pretty hard. Definitely ask for a mattress topper. Although the food was very good at the buffet, sometimes it was a bit cold. The 24 hour snack bar wasn't open when we went at 4am after a night out. Overall we thought that the resort was excellent and we would definitely go back. "

"We had the best time. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a family vacation this is the spot. We took the whole family, including our 6 year old and 12 year old. They did not want to leave. My father, who is in a wheel chair also did not want to leave. Overall I give this resort a 10 out of 10. The staff was very helpful with my father and I couldn't be more thankful. Also going through Bookit was very helpful.

"All in all a nice place to stay however I wouldn't rank it 4.5 - I'd give it about 3.5. There were a few problems:1) the included Mini Bar was a joke (a few soda pops, 2 beer, 2 small chocolate bars and 2 small bags of chips) and wasn't kept stocked; 2) we had the golden package and were supposed to have robes and slippers (had to call twice for these); 3) jacuzzi tub spewed out a bunch of dirt on the first use; 4) shuttle buggy drivers were not very friendly or helpful; 5)buffet wasn't kept stocked (especially the fruit) and the staff handled the food WITHOUT gloves! 6) no drink service on the beach; 7) bags took forever to get to our room; 8) extremely large resort with a very confusing layout and poor direction signs. The site map was very hard to interpret and many people looked 'lost' a lot of the time; 9) had to pay $5/day for an in-room safe; 10) charged $5.00 to use the phone in the room - even if you are not charging the call to your room. The positives were: 1) Nicely laid out, roomy suites 2) Staff were exceptionally friendly and help Food was very good - great variety; 3) Beautiful grounds were well maintained and clean 4) Nightly entertainment was very good; 5) Price was right/affordable 6) Good variety of activities offered"
Posted: Mon, Dec 13, 2010"Me and my wife had a great time in October 2010. Stayed at the Coba for 16 nights. The staff was absolutely great. Food at the buffet very good and the 9 restaurants great. Golf course very hard to play, high temp and humidity 94%.Just remember you have to pay for the cart per seat, also for a non playing guest, in my case, my wife who does not play golf. We hope to return one day. It is however a long way for us but worth it. Thank you for a great time."

Cancun International Airport:
Approximate driving time to the Gran Bahia Principe Coba All Inclusive is 75 minutes and distance is 105 km (65 miles).
Driving directions from Cancun International Airport:
Take Hwy 307 (Carretera Chetumal) south for approximately 97 km (60 miles) through Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen. Follow signs for the resort. The resort is located just south of Akumal, on the left side of the road.
From the airport head towards Chetumal, staying on the same federal highway. The hotel is at km 250. You can see Hacienda Doña Isabel from the road and there are large letters with the name Bahía Príncipe.
