"I dont know what people are complaining about! This resort was beautiful and the beach was beautiful. The beach at the Akumal resort was sandy and perfect ~ down the beach further towards the Tulum resort was very rocky. There were people snorkeling right at the beach ~ the fish were everywhere, really amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool was big and gorgeous .The food was just ok ~ typical of an all inclusive resort. Make reservations for the restaurants for the better food. It is a big resort, yes, but they have the trams that come every 10 minutes and take you around ~ super easy and fun. They even take you to the shopping. We made a night of tram-hopping from resort to resort, drinks in hand, trying all the different specialty drinks they offered. Entertainment every night. We had an amazing time! It was PERFECT!!!! I cant wait to go back!"

"when we arrived at the hotel we were amazed at the size of the resort, its huge ! we spent the first couple of days finding our way round,which was great fun using the shuttle service. the Akumal beach is fantastic, and the sea is crystal clear.our room was spotless and we always took pictures of the towel sculptures the maid left us.the food was amazing, there was so much variety. i can honestley say that all tastes are catered for.in the evening the animation team put on a variety of shows. we enjoyed every 0ne of them.but the best thing about our stay was the staff,everyone was so polite and helpfull. all being well we will be back later this year.

Approximate driving time to the Gran Bahia Principe Akumal All Inclusive is 75 minutes and distance is 105 km (65 miles).
Driving directions from Cancún International Airport:
Take Hwy 307 (Carretera Chetumal) south for approximately 97 km (60 miles) through Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen. Follow signs for the resort. The resort is located just south of Akumal, on the left side of the road.
From the airport head towards Chetumal, staying on the same federal highway. The hotel is at km 250. You can see Hacienda Doña Isabel from the road and there are large letters with the name Bahía Príncipe.
