"Nice place, nice people, great location. The shopping plaza directly across from the Flamingo was cheaper than the market (even after bargaining at the market). The all-inclusive package does not include all drinks. Also, the food was average and the food temperature was barely warm. It is not 5star, but for the price it was good. We had lots of fun and the people were great."

"The hotel is ok, the location is fantastic, the staff is very nice.
The only problem is the food,it is really too bad. I wouldn't recommend anyone to choose the 'all inclusive' package, many times I had to have lunch or dinner outside, in a restaurant, because it was impossible to eat at Flamingo. I believe they could do a better meal, simple, but better quality."

"Little to no air in rooms. Was sick one day and could not get relief from the heat while in room. No wifi unless purchased ( have never had to purchase Internet service in a 'hotel' before. Also felt that the limit of one towel per person per day was a little ridiculous. ( I understand 'go green' and all, but one shower a day due to no clean towels is just not my idea of fun when your out all day and would like to shower before going out at night ( you had to choose -shower in the morning or at evening/night)... On a lighter note, hotel was in a great location, beach was not crowded and the price was considerably cheaper than surrounding hotels although I do think in 2013, EVERY hotel should provide air, towels, and Internet service....if gong back tomorrow, I would try a different hotel.."

"Our stay at the Flamingo was much better than we expected and we would highly recommend it! For all the complainers on here, please go stay at any lower budget Daytona Beach hotel and compare, you will be deeply sorry you complained here.
Food - The food was good, but definitely always the same. Make sure you remember to get your free meals vouchers to Senor Frogs, the hotel people do not tell you about this benefit, its all on you.
Drinks - Watered down, very little alcohol (then again I'm from Wisconsin - it might be good liquor for New Yorkers), get the beer, they can't screw that one up. If you do drink liquor drinks go across the street to the liquor shop and buy a $8 bottle of tequila, but hide it from the VIPCUN, they will take it from you if they see it. Oh and the bars shut down at midnight, they have a contract with Margarittaville and others I'm sure to get you to go spend money elsewhere.
Bottled Water - call for your water delivery daily.
American Dollar Peso exchange - if you can wait, walk west (towards nightlife) to the mall the highest exchange rate is available at this mall, $12.90 per dollar.
Tips - Make sure you bring plenty of 1$ bills, if you don't tip these people you won't get exceptional service. Wi-Fi, there is wi-fi located on the 2nd floor north side (ocean side) platform. From the hotel next door. Otherwise the internet card will cost you $15.00 for a continuous 24 hour card. Not worth it.
All Inclusive - isn't VIP and don't get in the VIPs way, they are of most importance. When they were down with the rest of us hanging out waiting for airport transfer there was suddenly a line at the poolside bar. The two weeks we were here there was never a line at any bar, it was get in where you can and when you can. But once VIP came down, what....?
Walking - just walk, nothing is really that far, Senor Frogs and all of the nightlife are only about a half mile west of the hotel. The bus is cheap, but as Americans we all could use some walking anyway, just walk, you might look better in your bikini anyway.
Check Out - you must surrender your wristband (which makes sense, I guess its worth millions on the black market), but once you do, you will no longer be treated like a guest of this hotel, we were treated like terrorists once we gave our bands back. My fiance had to go to the restroom and the one downstairs was being repaired so she had to walk out by the pool to use that one and the VIPCUN had to escort her.
Airport transport - was great, but why we needed to be transfered back to the Cancun airport 3 hours early was beyond me. It took about 10 minutes to get through this airport, check in, security, etc....
Timeshare scam - when they offer to show you the hotel, check out the hotel, its great, beautiful for VIP. Up there you will get the best of the best drink they offer at the hotel, called The Flamingo (which you can't get in all-inclusive).
They will make you a lowball offer, hold out, we asked for $150 and got it. Our first offer was $50. These guys make $250 commission every person who tours the hotel. If you don't want to tour the hotel then ask for $300, or tell them you don't have a major credit card, only debit. Then you can't tour. Its 2 hours out of your vacation time.
Excursions - our most fun experience was the booze cruise, you go on a boat to a private island, have another buffet meal, and watch a show. The drinks on the cruise are great, they have liquor!
These are minor criticisms of the place, just hoping to give a heads up for the next person."

"Excellent Resort - My stay at the Flamingo was much better than I expected and I would highly recommend it!
Food - The food was really good. It probably was not the highest class, but it definitely was really good for all-inclusive type food. There is both a restaurant where you can order custom meals as well as a fully stocked buffet. The Flamingo also provides great poolside snacks (nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers) and any kind of drink at bars throughout the resort.
Staff - Great friendly staff, I could not ask for more! Excellent, fun, and entertaining waitors in the restaurant and buffet. Flamingo has a top notch activities coordinator named Luis who puts on great activities both at the resort (volleyball, dancing, etc.) as well as trips to late night clubs, bars, and other excursions.
Atmosphere - The hotel is large enough to provide for your every need yet small enough to get to know your neighbors and meet new friends. It is also conveniently located on the hotel strip which is never more than a cheap bus ride to any location."

"Excellent property for the price. We travel 2 weeks a month during the winter and usually stay in 41/2 to 5 star properties.
This was a great surprise. They have all amenities but on a smaller scale. You could always find enought to eat.
The staff is second to none!
The location is great. pretty much 1/2 way on the beach. You could walk for miles either way right on the beach. Beautiful tourquoise water. Their beach was great in front of their property.
We would definitely return again.

"My experience in this hotel was horrible. I booked a room with all included services and when I arrived to the hotel, they said they did not have any available room. They sent me to another hotel without all included services and they did not give me any other option. They wanted me to take taxis every time I want to eat. They were really rude people in it. "Because of these reviews we were sceptical about this hotel. What a surprise we had. We asked for a quiet room, it was quiet. This is the cleanest hotel we've ever been to. The staff was very nice. It is a small and older hotel that has that cozy feeling. The food was good although there is not a lot of selections at the buffet. On the downfall the food at the buffet was not really hot. The a la carte was very good and hot. The location is the best, right across the street from the Mall and walking distance to the bigger mall and restaurants. Busses come every 30 seconds. We will be back at this hotel. We loved it."

"Recently returned from a trip to the Flamingo. Like others have indicated the wait staff is very accommodating and friendly. The front desk, not so much; they are not really interested in helping you with your problems. Our room had a horrible shower head that felt like you were getting sand blasted which after a day in the sun is no pleasant. Tried to change rooms, but the hotel was full and no other options were offered. Our room also had a strange odor and you could hear the water running at all time. Room towels were worn and the cleaning staff provided ammenities differently each day. Some days we received bottled water, other days we did not. Some day we received hand and face towels, other days we had to ask.
No information is provided at check-in regarding the other pool and restaurant on-site. You need to find that out for yourself or through other guests. The other downside is that there is not a lot of entertainment and no music in the pool area.
The food is 'okay' but the location of the hotel is wonderful with Outback, Bubba Gumps and Margaritaville right across the street.
The Flamingo is a great place if you are looking for an all inclusive place to go and get drunk because there sure was a lot of that and I didn't see many people being turned away that should have been turned off."

"Well at first everything was going pretty good staying at the hotel. My boyfriend and me got a room with a great view to the beach without even paying. The only negative aspect of the room was that there were ants, the shampoo they provide actually seems like it's liquid soap, and the towels had all sorts of nasty stains on them. The front desk staff were very efficient with us checking in and the staff at the buffet restaurant was very friendly at first and spoke English pretty well. One of the last couple days of our stay, we went in the dinner buffet early at 6pm, then went out to the near mall to shop. Then we felt hungry when we got back to the hotel so we went to the buffet for seconds. We thought it was not a problem, but then as soon as we got our food and sat down at a table, we noticed the staff was standing there giving us dirty looks and talking almost themselves. It was very unprofessional, and made us both uncomfortable. After that day, the waiters purposely ignored us and hardly came up to our table to ask if we wanted anything. Would NOT recommend this 'resort' to anyone. Unless you just want something right at the beach and a cheap room."

"The Flamingo Cancun is a good resort overall. But, it is worth the money to upgrade. Our initial room was unimpressive (to say it nicely). That said, we jumped at a chance to upgrade to a junior suite (for only $35 per night). It was much nicer. Well worth the upgrade.
About the resort itself... The pool and hot tub are nice. There is a swim up bar, which I always love. The staff is really friendly. The restaurant serves a buffet style meal. We ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most of our meals were really good. One or two were not. You have to pay to use the internet, which is really expensive. That is one of the biggest downsides of this place is that there is absolutely no access to free internet. Also, the ATM in the hotel dispenses only dollars, which is not terrible since most of Cancun accepts dollars. But, they don't give you a fair exchange rate when charging you in dollars. I would rather pay the 2.5% fee to my bank for changing currency at an ATM than get ripped off everytime I pay with dollars (my personal opinion)."

"Hey eveyone,
I went here with a lover and our mom's.
Check in was pretty smooth and I was even upgraded to premium drinks and a ocean view room. The view was great. It was safe and I slept several nights with the door wide open (I was also on the 3rd floor.
First room they were assigned smelled of mildew. The guy at the front desk didn't seem to happy about changing the rooms. We went to the buffet and came back later and they provided us with a new room. Well...that room smelled the exact same so we decided to forget it he next day most of the smell was gone.
We did the all inclusive which was worth it for drinks alone. They do expect a tip but its not required.
They could work to improve the daily activities as I was expecting at least one day for them to have a dj by the pool or the deck on the second floor.
The staff was mostly friendly and even helped teach up a few new words in Spanish.
I loved the lady making the omelettes with that blanco cheese.
I may try a different resort on my next trip but I thought this was definitely worth the price. I met a guy who stayed at a luxury resort down the road and he paid waayy more the us. Stay here and use the extra money for excursions."

"Love it!!!!!!! I Had the best room. !st floor rooms 216 to 222 had grass patios with beach access. They also have a baby pool with a playground and hammocks under coconut tress to watch you toddles safely!. Not so happy the first day.. Personnel do not describe meaning of all inclusive and nobody told me about the great restaurant a la carte downstairs!! Got to figure out yourself or talk with other guest... Administration is Chaos and general manager is extremely aggressive when any problems . Otherwise great value near the mall and has an Outback and Margaritaville across the street when we watched USA sports live. WII FI is expensive and slow! go across the street at the mall and use a PC for cheaper!
My daughter marked a sheet with washable cayola marker and they want to charge me $100!!! I washed it myself but still want to charge me the 100 dollars. They call the police on us! and told us they won't lets us leave! Bus Driver came pick us up and talked with Hotel manager and let us leave."

"First of all, I am not sure the picture they have up is the actual resort. The picture is what drew me to this place, but I don't think thats the real picture. This is a very a small resort with limited options. Two resturants and a snack bar are your options for food. The buffet option was horrible except for breakfast, which was decent at best. The more upscale resturant onsite, messed up our reservations (which you must have to be seated) and really didn't do much to try to solve the problem. Most staff members spoke english and spanish and that helped a lot.The people who worked at the resort were very friendly and did a lot of work to keep the grounds clean - which I appreciate. However, I found trash underneath my bed, and one day my trash can in the bathroom was not emptied. Wifi is $15 per day, which was sketchy depending on were I was on the resort. The worst part of the resort was the bed. I imagine that beds in prison is much more comfortable than the bed I had to sleep on for several days. I thought the bed may have been made out of wood or steel. It was horrible. rnrnFor the price and location the place is a great value. But if you are looking for a place with a lot of amenities, I would try to go somewhere else. "

"My husband & I decided to go to Cancun for our Honeymoon and booked here because it was priced decent & they offered special items for Honeymooners. We arrived ready to check in & the front desk had no idea what we were talking about. We went round & round with them & finally called the agency the next day. The lady at the front desk told her we would get what we paid for, but some of the items supposedly given to us in out 'Honeymoon Room' were extra. We didn't get anything & since it cost us to call we decided to drop it & call them when we were home. Other than the front desk being no help & the room not at all what we were expecting the trip went great. The food was okay, the concierge was great, the bartenders were great, and most of the staff was very helpful! We had a pleasant stay here & would return if we ever go back to Cancun. We will definitely only go with the All-Inclusive from now on!!"

"We booked our 5 night stay because we got a great deal. All I can say is the old saying is true, 'You get what you pay for.' We had a great time on our trip, but the resort was mediocre at best. When we first got there and checked in, the guy tried to put us in a regular double room when we had paid extra for an ocean view and called 5 months in advance to request a king bed. The bed was rock solid, our shower had very little water pressure, and the food left much to be desired. We paid for all inclusive, but ended up eating out most nights due to the quality of the food. I thought room service would be included with all inclusive, but the resort does not even have room service available. I will say the drinks were very good, and the bartenders were all friendly. The location is nice because it is right across the street from the Margaritaville restaurant and a shopping center. Considering what I paid for the resort, I don't think it was a bad deal, but next time I will definitely pay extra to upgrade to a nicer resort."

"We just spent our Honeymoon in Cancun. The resort is a 3 star. Confortable, the beach is beautiful. Albatros restaurant is really good and romantic, right by the beach. The staff at the hotel was always really nice. The only thing I would improve is the cleaning system in their rooms. Beds are comfortable. Food is good. great location, there is a bus stop just steps away. Do not take the 90 min. tour for the pesos. It's not worth it, unless you want to waste precious time of your day, by the way if you don't buy they become rude. Overall we had a good experience, just remember is a 3 star resort, don't expect more."

"I went with a friend of mine, so it was just the two of us! This was not a bad place! it did look older than other places but it was still pretty clean, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I felt safe especially because we were in the tourist area, there was a mall across the street and a Margaritaville. lots of other stores within walking distance or a bus ride away! bus stop was right out front to (which we used to go downtown - $80ish pesos which is less than a $1 USD). And they always had security guards walking around. easy walk up access to the beach was exactly what we were looking for! they had a swim up bar, but we stayed on the beach. it was a quiet place - seemed like a family and couples place, so plenty of space and very relaxing. they didnt have many chairs but it seemed enough! there's also little huts you can stay under if you want to get out of the sun. The food for their buffet wasnt bad! it was a small selection but i thought it was decent. They had a couple of decent choices that changed slightly everyday. Their restaurant 'Albatross' had delicious selections! defiantly go and make a reservation there for lunch or dinner! they had a couple of bars you could go to which made delicious drinks. i loved their mai tai's, miami vice and white russians! you could actually somewhat taste a little bit of alcohol so you know they didnt skimp out on the drinks! for 4 days here all inclusive, i thought it was just perfect and not an expensive place to stay at. its no 4 star hotel but it wasn't terrible. there were almost no activities but they're entertainer guy was very friendly guy to talk to. they had one show on fri night. we still had an amazing time in Cancun!"

"Our stay was enjoyable. It is a very average hotel with older amenity, but very adequate for the price and we enjoyed ourselves. Before we left home we called the hotel to make sure we had an Ocean View room but when we arrived we were told that was "Requested..., but that they didn't have to honor that. However, for an extra $25.00 per night they would upgrade us. I offered them $125.00 for the whole week and they took it. Some people paid $100.00. The upgrade was well worth it, but I didn't like this little game that they play. The food was good, but pretty much the same every night regardless of the theme. Reservations are needed for the restaurant by the beach, however, that is where you will find the best food. The coupon they give you for Senior Frogs is good for a selected menu which is adequate, but not the same quality, or quantity, that the paying customers receive. The service is a little slow at thr Resort even if you are tipping. Overall a good value for the price."

"They need more variety in the buffet restaurant. I recognize that this resort isn't as large as some that we have visited, and that they don't have alot of people eating at each meal as in some resorts. "After one week- April 2012 - in Cancun i can recomend that to all people which are not looking for fancy-fancy hotel. It is a clean, friendly enviroment. Its not the best hotel for sure, compare to the others, but for a good price for All Inclusive, Air - 6 nights - $ 825 and if you are not looking for fancy place, just go for. Tha food is ok, diferit every day, and a lot of cookies."

"The best thing here is the view and access to the beach. However, the food was terrible and the facilities mediocre. It is a cheap place to stay in Cancun if that is what you are looking for but do not expect too much. Food, drinks, accommodations are all cheap and average. The activities are non existent for kids and the calendar is outdated and faded. The only positive again is the access to the beach and view. Even the pools were mediocre."

"This was me and my boyfriend's first trip to cancun and we had a blast!!! The Staff was extremely friendly. The food was great and the location was very convenient to local shopping and clubs. My only complaint is that there was a strange odor that came from the toilet but we barely spent anytime in our room but other than that we had a great experience! =)"

"Let's just say you get what you pay for. This location is perfect for college students looking for a cheap, all-inclusive vacation. The hotel had a lot of people from the ages of 18-30. The staff was not very friendly and if you didn't tip them, they didn't give you what you wanted. The food was okay. It was pretty much the same every day. The restaurant by the beach had the best food, but make sure to make a reservation that morning if you want to eat there. There weren't many beach chairs, but the beach is nice. There was an entertainment staff there sometimes doing activities, but mostly to take people to clubs at nice. Our toilet didn't flush and a light was burnt out in our room. The cleaning staff was very nice though, but would only leave a bottle of water or two occassionally - not daily. I thought it was a good vacation for what we paid for. The location is great, but if I went back I would splurge a little and stay at a nicer resort."

"when we got to the room, it looked like the bathroom hadnt been cleaned. there was hair in the tub. no towels except for 1 damp one hanging on the back of the door. complained to front desk and it was cleaned. also, complained about AC and that never got fixed. some days had to open sliding door cause it was cooler outside. room wasnt very noise proof. food was good. pools and outside grounds appeared clean. staff was friendly and helpful, especially the entertainment staff and carina from kids club. bartenders and waitstaff were also very friendly. security at the hotel appeared good also."

"It was a very average hotel...there were ants, ac didnt work very well, and biggest issue is the rooms have no clocks and the front desk isnt very good with the wake up calls. In fact we completely missed a excursion that we paid for because we never received our wake up call. Def bring your own alarm if staying at this hotel! Drinks weren't the best either...Food was average"

"When I arrived my room was not ready so they told me they would upgrade me from a standard room to a room with a ocean view so I could be on the same floor as my friends. What got me is they charged me for the upgrade which I felt was wrong because they did not have my room ready. I paid for the all inclusive which included being able to take food to my room from the buffet however when I tried to do this I was stopped and told that it was not allowed. Once you are checked in you talk to the concierge desk so they can explain the rules of your stay and what is included. It seems to me that the check in desk and the concierge are not communicating and made it very confusing. Last but not least the food was average there is no beverage service on the beach and you had to get bottled water from house keeping??? This all inclusive was to relax that is why I pay for all inclusives. Unfortunately I was more relaxed on my excursion than at this resort. And the staff were not friendly or accommodating at all."

"I would have to agree with some other comments...if you are expecting 3 OR 4 star hotel, this is not it. The hotel is clean but maid service as far as leaving towels was a hassel almost everyday. Most of the staff is spanish speaking only. The only amenities is the TV, no coffee pot or clock in the standard rooms. No entertainment but site said there was! Food is average but the waiters and bar tenders were awesome. Walls are very thin and you can hear 'everything'!! The price for what you get if you are NOT expecting much is okay. I would not go back or recommend this to a friend. I have been to Cancun 7 times and will go back to the hotel I usually go to!"

Front desk managers were not polite, room was very plain--no cover on bed, no rugs on concrete floor. Was placed in room by pool and was very noisey despite asking for a higher floor level."

I would return but not do all-inclusive. Store across the street sells bud light wihich was much needed after a couple days of drinking flat draft beer. Beach is beautiful and staff is friendly."

"We had a great time but there were a few issues. When we arrived we were told that they only had 2 of the 4 rooms we booked, so 4 of us had to go to another hotel for the 1st night, not a big deal but not what we expected after a long day of traveling. The staff was great at the restaurants and bars. The rooms were clean and comfortable, room service was quite late some days however, but we were on the beach or in the bars most days so who cares, The beach is HUGE but if you want a hut and lounge chairs you need to get to the beach early not nearly enough on the beach for the size of the resort, If we go to Cancun again we would definitely consider going here again."

"At first we were kind of skeptical with how the hotel looked on the outside, but as soon as we walked in we definitely underestimated the hotel's appearance. It was very clean and had the traditional Mexican design. The hotel staff was very helpful because they worked with our group to get our rooms side by side, the other employees were quite friendly and helpful as well. We had the ocean view rooms and they were quite worth it. Although we were out and about with our activities, it was relaxing and so beautiful from the balcony. The only thing we found that was an issue in the room was that the towels had gross stains on it (like feces) and that the bedspreads had a smell to it (not very appealing I had to just use the sheets no comforters). Also there were two places to eat at the hotel, the one by the water had amazing food{but you MUST have a reservation), however the one by the pool had very bland tasting food. It was ok for omelets and French toast but it was honestly just a typical buffet - nothing spectacular. The inclusive drinks were not so bueno! (they were watered down for the most part). I was also surprised to not find a hot tub onsite. But overall a decent place to stay for the price :)"

"While Cancun is a beautiful place, this hotel was not exactly what I would call paradise! First off, my 2 friends and I arrived late at night. When we checked in, they said that our room was not ready for us and had not been cleaned from the previous residents. The front desk man was VERY rude about it and did not apologize or offer an upgrade or anything for the mishap. (Not that I expected an upgrade, but in other hotels, they normally would be very generous and apologetic for the inconvenience) Luckily, we had 2 friends that had a room that we could go into to wait for our room. Once we got into our room, you could tell that the room was thrown together quickly, leaving us with things in one of the beds and stains on the top blanket of the other bed. However, after that, it was cleaned well and kept tidy. There was no safe in the room, nor was there a refrigerator, alarm clock, or washcloths. The beds were very hard, but we did sleep well. Our particular room had HBO, TNT, and a couple other english stations, but not all rooms have these stations, as our friends in a different room did not. The walls seemed to be PAPER thin as we could hear conversations going on in the room next to us, kids outside the room playing and screaming, and when someone above us would drop something that sounded like coins. Next was the service. I HAVE NEVER MET GREEDIER PEOPLE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!! We paid for all inclusive, which says includes tips, but we of course brought money to tip as we drank and ate. With the exception of the man at the pool bar, EVERY BAR TENDER would NOT serve you what you wanted UNLESS you had money in your hands! I went to the bar and asked for 4 shots and was holding a $1 bill in my hand. The bartender looks at the dollar and says to me 'one dollar...one shot.' That was just one of the MANY instances that we did NOT get good service from the bar tenders. My parents have stayed at different places in Cancun, and they said they NEVER had service like that anywhere they had been. We spent about $300 in just tips to the bar tenders, because you couldn't even get a soda without tipping. It wasn't like we weren't tipping either. We were being very generous and tipping about every other trip we went to the bar. I was appalled at their rude behavior. The staff at the restaurants were very nice and helpful! They were very quick to clean your dirty dishes off of your table, come ask how the food tasted, etc. The food was not very good. Breakfast was good, but lunch and dinner we normally found very little to be appetizing and not mexican. However, it was tolerable and helped me to not eat entirely too much over my stay. The eating areas were always clean and I never felt like I was eating off of a dirty plate or with dirty utensils. The hotel itself was very pretty! We all loved the 2 pools, one that looked over the beach and one that was in the middle of the hotel that was fun and had the swim up bar. The Guest Service desk was not very knowledgable about anything in the city. We asked where the marina was and they told us to take the bus going left out of the hotel, but we soon found out that we needed to go right out of the hotel. We also asked where we could get massages at and they sent us to the mall, where there was nothing that even resembled a spa. The 'hot tub' that was available was not hot. It was about the same temperature as the pool. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY FOR THE TRANSFERS TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT!!! The Best Day staff were FABULOUS!!!! So helpful and kind! Our representative, at the hotel was of TREMENDOUS help and gave us ideas on things to do while we were there. The location was very good! Right across the street from Margaritaville and Bubba Gump's restaurants and within walking distance to the nice La Isla mall and authentic shopping in the Flamingo Plaza. The beach was beautiful as always and clean. You received sun on the beach all day long and until about 3pm by the beach pool. The best way to get from one place to another if it was not within walking distance would have been the city bus, which cost $1 for each trip. Cancun was beautiful and I will definitely visit again, but most definitely NOT at this hotel!"

"Overall, I had a fair experience at the place. The facilities are basic and dated. The shower doesn't efficiently give out hot water and the lights do not work in some parts of the room. The beds smell of a slight odor. However, the staff are friendly and will take care of your needs right away. The food was good and filling. The surroundings are clean. I stayed there for a week. I would recommend this place if someone would stay for less than a week and on a budget. Otherwise there are better hotels in the area. As for the time-share scam, I agreed to see them at first, and then cancelled with another front desk later on. I am here on a vacation and I am not willing to waste 90 minutes or more for anything other than having a vacation."

"First of all there is no Lagoon View, it is a Shopping Plaza so we had to upgrade to an ocean view for $100 more or look at a Plaza all week. It was beautiful but wish I did not have to pay more. Beds are hard, pillows lumpy, no wash cloths or hand towels, only bath towels. No clock in room, only extra was a hair dryer. After that said, the food was delicious, the staff was amazing, the room was kept immaculate everyday. The beach is huge and security is everywhere, felt very safe. Raymondo the hotel tour person helped plan great trips for myself and my 2 grandchildren. He was very helpful and gave us a discount that was better than day tour people we had booked airport transport with. I would not book included transfers next time, I would take a cab to and from the airport for the same price and no extra pick ups. HAd a wonderful time and would go back again without a hesitation."

"We stayed at the Flamingo in 2007 on our first trip together and our first trip to Cancun. Had a wonderful, wonderful time...first love and a great resort!. Excellent service, staff, food, drinks and so loved the Albatross Restaurant (ala-carte) on site.
Flash forward 6 years...we needed a place for just one night at the beginning of our Cozumel vacation and one night at the end of our Cozumel vacation (don't ask...hopper flight issues). Front desk staff was disinterested and slightly surly, particularly when they discovered we were there only one night. We wanted dinner at the Albatross Restaurant. Restaurant is now reservations only and you had to reserve at 8am on the day you wanted to dine. Ok?! So we ate at the buffet (not good).the front desk, said call next Sunday before you arrive on Monday and I'll take care of your reservations (of course, that didn't happen).
Our room was to be upgraded to an ocean view, but none were available so we were given an VIP room on the sixth floor that needs a special key card to access the 6th floor (WOW!) Room was nothing special and smelled strongly of mildew.
On our return trip, once again surly, disinterested staff. Ordered water, wake up call (no clocks in room), light bulb and an extension cord (CPAP machine) from front desk. Only got the wake up call but that was the most important. Pool-side bathroom was disgusting, smelly and unflushed toilets. Did get dinner in the Albatross. It was awful. Hot, no A/C, poor seats though there were openings on the balcony, screaming children running around. Food was very poor. Had a T-bone steak the thickness of a piece of deli ham. Asked the waiter for a bottle of water to take to the room...he sneaked one to us and told us to hide it, that it was not allowed. Finally to bed, AC was non-existent, too hot to sleep, but by golly, we did get that wake-up call.
We won't be back unless we are feeling nostalgic. But to be fair, we are more experienced travelers and know and want some of the finer perks of a resort. (Love the Palace resort line, but that's another review:-). This hotel is very popular with vacationing families. The cost is very, very reasonable. So if you only want a bed and a beautiful beach...try the Flamingo.
One quick shout out to the Flamingo Mall, directly across the street from the hotel. It is the absolute best for souvenirs, towels, paros, tequila, blankets, handicrafts etc. Super selections and cheap, cheap prices. Spent $70 and get a free beach bag!! We always stop there regardless to where we stay."

"This hotel could really get an excellent rating by making a few small changes-hot water all the time, we didn't have any hot water the first 2 days of our trip, our room keys stopped working every 2-3 days-both of them, and we had to beg for towels. After seeing the breakdown that the hotel recieved, excluding air fare, I was shocked to see what little they were making. But my suggestions cost very little. The outside/beach front restaraunt was wonderful and the guys there were awesome!!! The beach was nice....We did upgrade the first day to the ocean front rooms on the 6th floor, which I definitely reccomend. I would give 3.5 stars, but for the money, I don't regret going!"

"It is a good value and in a good location. I think a few minor upgrades would go a long way here. The only beer available is flat Dos Equis, some domestic beers and good whiskey would have made this much more enjoyable. I think they could actually charge higher rates if they had a better selection of beer and cocktails. I had a hard time drinking their cocktails, but I am used to premium liquors. I would probably not go all inclusive if I stayed here again. It is a great place if your looking for a really low price in Cancun."

"I would have to say that you get what you pay for at this resort. I thought that we got a great deal in terms of the price, but when I saw the resort, I knew why it was so cheap. The resort is very small with limited food options and the pool is only made for a few families at a time. Minus the trash under my bed, the room was clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The $15 a day for wifi was a rip-off especially since it did not work everywhere on this small resort including our room. There was no room service like advertised and the miniature pool/snack bar was pretty pathetic. It literally had hotdogs, hamburgers and nachos every day, which was just left out for grab all day. It closed at 6pm, so there was nothing to eat late night. The buffet food was not delightful, to put it nicely. So we had to spend money on eating out even though we thought we would eat at the resort since we paid for all inclusive. The night activities were non-existent. They had activities such as bingo and karaoke. This is not a place that you want to hang around all day and relax. In order to make our trip fun, we had to be active off the resort, which means spend more money. Another thing that concerned me is that one day we returned back to the room to grab something that was forgotten and the cleaning lady's cart was in front of our room, with the door wide open and yet, she was nowhere near our room. We went in and was there for a few minutes before she came in and then she did ask to see our room keys, however, anybody could have easily came in and stole something during that time period. This resort was in a good location but it is not somewhere that I would want to go again. This was not how I had wanted to spend my vacation in beautiful Cancun."

Beds where hard, but we still slept good. They do not give you wash rags only towels and hand towels, very strange. If the bars got busy it was hard to get a drink. It would be better if they had one more bar, and one more restaurant. location was great for other restaurants through."

"Well, first- my friend and I had an awesome time in Cancun.
Your hotel was a little short of excellent. There was no coffee pot and no small refrigerator in our room. The beds were HARD and somewhat uncomfortable. But, because we were so very busy throughout the week, we slept pretty good.
The ocen view was unremarkable :).
The staff was courteous, genuine and always there when we needed them. I never heard so many 'HOLA'S.'
The restaurant staff were GREAT. The only thing that bothered us was-we had to pay $5.00 for a pot of coffee to be delivered to our room even though we had ALL INCLUSIVE. Because of this, we never ordered coffee to be delivered.
If we come back, we sure would stay at your hotel and would ask for the exact same room.
The menu could have had more item on it. We were somewhat tired of the samefoods on the buffet. The desserts were TERRIBLE tasting. But, that was OK, because we didn't eat them and lost some weight during this trip. It would have been nice to see more variety of food."
