"My wife and I are repeat guests here. Based on our most recent visit it appears that the property has taken a few steps back with regards to service. Upon arrival to the hotel we were not greeted with the best welcome at the front desk. The wait for our room was in excess of three hours. Granted we were able to have lunch but still not the welcome you would expect as repeaters. In addition we informed the front desk manager that our agent told us we could pay to get an upgrade to the Club. The manager told us there would be availability within five days as the rooms were currently booked out. Not only did we not hear a word from the manager our ENTIRE vacation, upon checkout (which he personally handled) he did NOT ask once about how we enjoyed our stay. How he manages to be the front desk manager and the face that welcomes guests is quite a mystery. To make matters worse, for our supposed romantic dinner, we were sandwiched between two other large parties (hardly intimate and not what I would have wanted for my wife and I on our 10th anniversary) Now having been to other luxury all-inclusive (Sandals Resorts) who take pride in adding a personal touch for each couple and show great appreciation for guest loyalty, I think they could greatly improve the level of service they offer guests."

"Resort was awesome. Pool too cold. Caution do not buy from the jewellery store on site called My Levount. I bought a sterling silver ring and it turned my finger green. When I took it back to the store to return it they said that it was the finest silver and that it was my fault it turned green. (note I wear a lot of silver and have never had a issue). One more thing the store always has a sign in the door with 50 percent off so you are not getting a deal."

"A trip of a lifetime!!!! Amazing, wonderful, extravagent, lavish, paradise!!!! We could not have been happier with our choice in Excellence Riviera! Every want was fulfilled, every need was met, and fantasy was realized in our week long stay at this gorgeous all inclusive get-a-way!! My wife literally tear's up to this day thinking back on the time we spent together in this unbelievable oasis! We will be going back again, and again, and again!!!"

"Excellence Riviera is the elite hotel in Puerto Moreles area of cancun which is approx 10-15 km south of hotel zone. Walked to beaches to prove it and the location is great for honeymooners and couples that want to get away. You can live it up at the bar with no lines and friendly people or you can just relax pool side, or by the lazy river near the spa which is divine. Would not recommend this hotel for spring breakers that want to be crazy the resort is filled with young (23-30) good-looking couples. Food is the best I have had at any resort and it is truely all inclusive except for wine/ports at dinner. o Patron but they do have Sauza and I never got to try the local Blue Agave which I heard is great. Drinks are strong so beware. Truely a destination resort. Walk to Puerto Moreles is about 30 minutes, but they have daily bike trips to the town. Brush up on your spanish as it will get the staff to open up to you a little more than normal."

"everything was almost perfect except our air conditioning did not work properly in our room. we had maintenance come one day and attempt to fix it. it was never fixed and nobody ever addressed it with us nor apologized. our good friends were also at the excellence and they did not have the misfortune with an inefficient air conditioning unit...so it was unfortunate for us. the place was otherwise wonderful."

"Excellent from the time we arrived and were greeted by our bellhop who remembered us from the year before to bartender who made me drinks I requested that were popular in the 50s. I was amazed he knew how to make them. He entertained us by doing a juggling act with bottles. The guest service manager enhanced our stay with her friendliness. She had the chef make a chocolate display of our three dogs which was presented to us after dinner one night. I had told her we missed our dogs. Service by all personnel was wonderful. Our room which was a swim-up suite was great and we will book it again next year."

"What an amazing experience. The resort, the staff, the food, the spa, the never ending stream of beverages well exceeded my expectations. We got a rental car but never left the property - why should we when everything we needed was right there. Had a couple of glitches with our room but it was put right almost immediately. Fantastic place I hope to visit again some time. :o)"

"The resort is lovely; the spa experience was incredilbe especially my first experience with hydro spa.
The resort is well maintained and clean. Food quality and selection of resturants is great.
Very friendly and accommodating staff.
My annoyances:
hard tiny pillows; room refridg not cold, slightly cool. Hand towels in some resturants not replaced quickly so nothing to wipe hands. One stall in ladies bathroom (at large pool) was out of order daily."

"My wife and I stayed at the Excellence Riviera in Cancun for 6 days and five nights. Everything was phenomenal, from the hotel to personnel to the transportation. I would certainly feel comfortable traveling with bookit.com again no problems. The only disappointing part of the whole experience was the bed at the hotel was very firm and kinda rickety but other than that it was A ..."

"This place was fantastic. I have absolutely no complaints and would love to go back. Staff was very friendly and the resort is excellent. Some restaurants were better than others, but overall the food was good. Highly recommend!"

"We just returned and feel our stay at Excellence was one of the best vacations we have ever had. Everything from the room, staff, grounds, food was great, no complaints can be found. A specail thanks to the resort also for assisting us when a bad cut to finger made it necessary to visit hospital. They were great and so helpful. Not a day went by after that we weren't asked by various staff if okay. Bottom line, we can't wait to go back!!!"

"This was our second stay at an Excellence Resort and it will not be our last. The resort is fantastic and the service and servers are an absolute delight. There cannot possibly be a better resort than the Excellence and we are looking forward to experiencing the new Jamaica Excellence when it is finished."

"It is everything that we had hoped for and more. Great place to forget about your worries. The staff is exceptional. Very secure. We will return again and again. However, we will bring along our personal pillows."
