"This hotel is amazing!! definitely a perfect place to get a away for a few days and relax! me and the husband just returned from a 7 day stay and i didnt get enough!! This place is like heaven on earth. The hotel setting is just gorgeous, all the rooms are not waterfront which we didnt mind because the view is quite as nice as a waterfront room they are all around like a jungle type of setting very very nice the beach is AMAZING! crystal clear warm waters. The staff were also very very nice and the food and drinks exceed me and my husbands expectations. i highly recommend this hotel if you are looking to relax and spend days having drinks by the beach! and its ADULTS ONLY!!! AWSOME AWSOME PLACE!! LOVED IT"

"My husband and I plus two other couples stayed from March 18th - 24th, 2012. When we arrived at the resort, our room wasn't ready so we were upgraded for free. We stayed in building 16, the one closet to the beach. None of the rooms have an ocean view. Instead they all face the jungle. We were on the bottom floor so we basically had no view but this did make our room nice and quiet. Once we arrived in our room we had trouble with our safe. However, after calling the front desk, they immediately sent someone over to fix it. The room was pretty standard for an all-inclusive resort. We had a king-sized bed and a huge shower. Some other reviewers complained about the bed but I thought it was super comfortable. The only real problem we had with our room was the A/C. It worked really well the first few days but then it started to slowly warm up. Towards the end of the week, we had to turn it off for awhile to let it rest. Once we turned it back on, it lasted about 12 hours before needing another rest. This really wasn't a huge problem for us. We just let it rest while we were out of the room during the day. The hotel provided beach towels for you and replaced them each night while we were at dinner. It was nice to not have to carry around 'towel cards' or to have to worry about switching them out before an excursion. There were several dining options. We tried all the restaurants and the buffet. The breakfast buffet was really great! There is a coffee bar for espressos and cappuccinos as well as an omelet bar for fresh made to order omelets. We did, however, get bored with this buffet by the end of the week. The lunch buffet is outdoors and it is super yummy! They had a variety of food every day including salads, sushi, and Mexican-type foods. There was always something different to chose from so we never got bored. The Steakhouse was probably our least favorite restaurant. The food was okay but the service was awful! Our favorite restaurants were the Tapas Bar and the Mexican restaurant. Both were superb. The Tapas bar is outdoors and has a really great atmosphere and menu. The Mexican restaurant was very authentic and had good variety. We also ate at the Italian restaurant. It was about the same quality as Olive Garden. My only complaint about the restaurants is the time it takes to complete a meal. It took 2 -2.5 hours to dine at each of the restaurants because each has 3 or 4 courses and they are all spread out. This resort doesn't require reservations for the restaurants which meant we had to wait each night. Usually around 30 minutes or so for a party of 6. The beach is by far the best beach we have seen. The sand is super fine on the beach and in the water. Not a single rock to be stepped on. The resort is also a ways from the next resort so the beach is somewhat secluded. You can also walk a ways out into the ocean and still touch bottom. We had not problems getting chairs out on the beach. My only complaint about the beach was the sand fleas. I had several bites after the first day but I used bug spray the rest of the week and had no problems. The pool was also very nice but we did have a hard time finding chairs until late afternoon. The Jacuzzis tended to be cold in the morning but warmed up nicely by mid-afternoon. There are three to choose from depending on how hot you want your water. The staff was great too! We played pool volleyball, learned how to make guacamole and took a Spanish class while we were there. There was also a lady from Hungary that was great too! The drinks were good and strong. We also never had to wait. My only complaint is that there was not a swim up bar but we made do. There was also a little grill located poolside. They had great pizza, sandwiches, and cheese fries. The night life is non-existent. There was a show every night but it tended to be just dancing and got a little boring. The Elvis show was my favorite! They were each over by 10:30 and this left us nothing to do. I wish there had been a band or something so we could have done some dancing. All in all, we had a great time. We didn't have any major problems and the people are fantastic. Other reviewers mentioned that they cater to the Italian guests. We did see a little of this but it wasn't enough to make me not want to go back. I would definitely return. Especially for the beach!"

"First of all, I can't believe there aren't many more positive posts here! Then again I am reluctant to give out the news of our most favorite little piece of heaven on the Yucatan Peninsula!

We just returned from the most awesome, restful, succulent vacation we have ever had at the beach! Everything about this place was wonderful.

The staff was so very friendly and helpful. The entire hotel service was always on schedule, did more than they were asked, and when we needed anything to be done at a certain time they were always on time. The room, the beach, the entire hotel were amazing. We enjoyed every minute there. Even when we had to leave at an ungodly hour to catch a flight home, one of the staff was there waving goodbye and wishing us a safe journey. I will affectionately recall our memorable stay there everyday until we can return. Which, by the way, we are planning already for next mid-spring!"

"Just got back from a fabulous 6 days at the Royal Tulum! What an experience! The resort is beautiful...scratch that...gorgeous! The jungle walk to your rooms and beach is nostalgic and romantic- The beach- heavenly! Everyone was more than friendly, with a lot of things to do or do nothing at all and relax on one of the best beaches on the Mayan Riviera. We researched quite a few places before we booked and were thrilled with our decision. In fact we got suckered into a 'free expedition' by an airport employee trying to help us find our transfer. He sold us the idea of paying $50 for two free expeditions all you have to do is attend a free lunch buffet at the Aventura Spa Palace and voila! BEWARE! It is not free- they steal 3 hours of your time when you get to the beautiful resort by trying to convince you to buy into their hotel group! What a waste of my vacation hours! By the way, the resort was beautiful but not nearly worth the extra money and had NO, ZERO, ZILCH- beach! We kept whispering how grateful we were to be at our gorgeous resort for a fraction if the cost! We would go back in a heartbeat!"
