"I do love this place, but do not go to this hotel if you are thinking it is a 5 star hotel. It is not a 5 star, but it is a Great, Very inexpensive hotel. I had a very nice ocean view room. Yes I saw small ants in the bathroom, but I lived in Florida and often had bugs in my house. (its the heat and humidity) The food was very good. I had a lightly fried fish one night that was great.But they do have to keep food cost low so they do reuse last nights fish in a salad for today's lunch. Just try every thing, if you don't like it, don't eat it. All the staff were great. I can see where some people would think different. Some of the staff are shy and affaired to converse with English speakers. Learn how to say hello, how are you, thank you and please and that will make a big difference. And don't be a loud arrogant American tourist."

"We stayed in Playa Del Carmen in 2011 so comparing the 2 areas and properties our last stay was much better. The BelleVue is in need of repair but nothing that caused problems during our stay. The hot tub does not work and there is not a fitness center. The location was nice and the staff was friendly but it felt as though they are no able to accommodate any type of special request. I was very disappointed with the availability to take snacks to the room especially when my spouse was not well enough to get to the buffet. The staff in 2 of the food venues would not allow me to take food to the room until I sat and ate. Even after explaining the situation I pretty much had to fight to take 2 peices of pizza to the room. Our room was a single double bed which was okay but reminded me of Motel 6 instead of a resort. The merchants in Cancun were much more agressive then in Playa. We are more of a relaxed tourist, minimal shopping and not into the party so the Playa area fits our style better. The best part of Cancun was the access and the public bus system."

"The BelleVue Beach Paradise hotel was fabulous. I picked this hotel to celebrate my 40th bday with some girlfriends in Cancun and we had a blast.We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. Our room was ready,clean with fresh sheets/blankets on the bed and towels.The hotel staff was attentive and very friendly. Our waiter Francesco took excellent care of us as we spent our days on the beach enjoying the sand and sun. The dining was buffet style, breakfast and lunch were the best meals in my opinion. Lots of variety and plenty to choose from, dinner could have been better. We caught the bus and went shopping at the mall and of course we did some clubbin' and danced the night away. We felt totally safe while hanging out outside of the hotel and returning in the A.M. hours. We paid $65.00 per night and that is excellent for food and drink, we all feel we got our money's worth and we would definitely go back.

"first room was dirty everywhere in the room. they put us in another room and this one was cleaner but not by much. the fixtures had bare wires showing on the electric lamps, towel rack hanging by only one side. shower curtain too short so when you showered you had water all over the floor no matter how you tried to not. the bathroom sink leaked around the faucet so anything on the counter soaked up water.
the beds were like sleeping on concrete with a thin air mattress on top. the food was decent but not anything to write home about, it usually was cold by the time you got back to your table. had several waiters that were nice and one of the bartenders was also nice. most of the staff were other wise just ok. the tables in the sitting area in the big lounge would wobble but not fall over so that was a good game to see if you could drink your drinks without making a big mess.

"Come on people, it was not so bad. If you are in a budget, go there. The food is good, the staff is friendly, the rooms are fine. what else do you need? It is a 3 star hotel. I stayed there for 4 nights. nThe view from my room was just amazing! It was a million dollar view. I really wish I could post a picture.nIf you are looking for something 'fancy' go to the Westin or the JW Marriot, do not write silly reviews like this.nI am a student, I did not go there to visit 'Cancun', it is too commercialized. I would rather go somewhere else in the US and enjoy a nice 4-5 star hotel. I went there so I could be closer to Yucatan to visit Chichen Itza. The hotel was very convenient, a little far from downtown but the bus stop is right in front of the hotel (just pay 8.5 pesos to get you downtown). The hotel is situated in a good neighborhood ( which is important for me). The food was good. nThe only thing I didnt like is that internet was not free. In a way, it was good, I was completely disconnected from the outside world. nThe second thing is that you had to make a reservation for the Mediterranean restaurant. Since I only spent 3 nights, I was only allowed 1 reservation. This is ridiculous, it did not feel like an all inclusive! nThey do need to renovate some parts of the hotel, I agree. But it was not 'nasty' like some reviews proclaim. nI would definitely go back without a doubt if I got the same deal again!"

"While the staff was friendly, the hotel itself was literally falling apart (cracks in the columns, siding falling off, balconies with holes in the bottom, mold in the rooms, water coming down from the ceiling, etc). Upon check in, our room was hot, humid, and damp, it smelled like mold, no coffee or tea in the caddy, the floors were dirty, the sheets were stained, the 'white' towels were grey, the couch and comforter were dingy, the refrigerator didn't work... The air cooling in the room was a swamp cooler ie: didn't remove any of the humidity. The hotel activities and dinner reservation information was not well communicated and made it difficult to participate. The buffet was a daily repeat of unappealing and oddly paired foods, the restaurant areas were not air conditioned. We were so unhappy with this hotel that we left a few days in and went to the GR Solaris were we had a great experience."

"I'm not a person that needs anything fancy... Im completely fine with staying at average hotels. This is not an average hotel. I would call this place more of a depressing, dirty, tourist infested, party going, awful hotel. I would have paid to stay at a motel 6 than stay there again. They don't have A/C anywhere, the staff was unfriendly and most don't speak english, the pool area was trashy, the lounge chairs broke on us, you have a guy screaming in a microphone the whole time at the pool to 'get the party started' and his favorite words are 'señor frogs'. The only thing I could stand was being on the beach, away from everything. Don't even get me started on the food. Bland, awful, not sanitary and most of the food was probably packed up and reused for another meal time. I'd rather sleep on a park bench then sleep in the beds they provided... our shower was either freezing or scorching hot, we could never find the right spot or temperature. I think you get the point. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. I can't believe they can charge that much for such an awful place."

"BelleVue was great for the price! The food at the buffet restaurant, think it was called El Mirador, was fantastic! The beach was awesome! Rooms were clean! The service was great! Except for one of the bartenders and waitress at the lobby that were rude and unprofessional! They kept ignoring us and when we order a plain soda they forgot to bring it! But the bartender at the kareoke bar was very nice though."

"Honestly the trip was great. The staff are very helpful, so it does make the trip very cost effective. The area could be cleaner but it appears when some folks drink too much they just forget to clean up their stuff and the staff are doing their best to keep up with it. The buildings are a bit worse for the wear as the tropical storms do their damage and the sea keeps the place moist so the buildings will look a bit on the weathered side!"

"I visited the BelleVue Beach Paradise on July 7 2012. Our stay at the hotel was extermely aweful. The rooms were dark and dingy. The sheet, room towels, wash cloths and beach towels were very old. The food was not a variety as the hotel advertise. The combination of the dishs were just put together the hotel had no taught about poeple who are vegetarians. All drinks were served in children size cups. The staff was extremely rude. They didn't speak, was not willing to help with concerns or problems. Most of the staff just walk pass me and help other spanish speaking people without coming to me. The hotel was not walking distance to shopping and night life. Please do not visit this hotel. I read the reviews before going and read good things about this hotel. Please don't beleive those reviews."

"The mirrors have black spots on them. You also have to shuffle around the toilet to get to the shower to try to not touch it, and there's not even enought room to lay the towels down on the bathroom floor to absorb water. God forbid you take a look at the bed ,the part I could see the box spring looked like someone drug it through the jungle to get it to the hotel. Not vegetarian friendly ,but I did find a hair in the cabbage at the Buffett style dinner. Hey at least there were not bed bugs."

"The absolute best thing about this hotel was the view. The view from our hotel room was fabulous. It made me forget about the OLD room. This hotel is in dire need of a facelift. It needs a lot of updates (walls cracking, mold, out dated furniture, bar etc. If they would put just a little money into it, it would be a really great place. The staff were great, the food was just ok., and the location good. We only spent about 20 minutes a day in our hotel room outside of sleeping, so it worked because being outside on the beach, in the pool, or just sitting on the made up for the quality of the hotel and the food. The pictures are very deceiving."

"Do not book this hotel. I cannot tell you how poor the condition of the hotel was. Mould in our sleeping rooms. The towels are so old they are actually grey, not white and stink. No hot water for two days. The first two days in Cancun was filled with very heavy rain and the hotel lobby ceiling leaked so badly it actually looked like it could fall through. The outside ceiling is so heavily cracked, I would not stand under it for fear it would come crashing through. After two nights, we checked out and moved into another hotel. This hotel should not be featured on any website. Shame because the staff were so friendly but this is not a hotel you want to stay in plus it's in the middle of nowhere and miles from the center of Cancun. "

"I was so impressed by the kitchen and its staff. The foods were so diverse and excellent prepared. But I have to say I was disappointed by some things. First of all, the room was not so comfortable as I was promised, the sofa in the living room was so hard to sleep on it; my children had a bad sleep every night. Also the door of the bathroom was so dirty inside. Secondly, I was shocked how many smokers were in the lobby and also on the beach; I consider you must be a smoke-free hotel because there are children, pregnant women, and just nonsmokers. It is the main our complain! Our family went to your resort to enjoy the sea scenery, the fresh marine air, not to get headaches....So sorry. And finally, we were disappointed that at 5pm we had to leave the beach, and also the pool was closed at the time when it was still so nice to swim. Please let people enjoy swimming in the pool at least until 7pm. Because of these inconveniences our impression was so negatively affected. Nevertheless, we admired the staff how they work diligently and hard, were clean dressed and friendly. For their efforts to make us feel comfortable, we say thanks a lot and may God bless them all. Please take in consideration our complaints and make your hotel be more comfortable, more decorative and nice in the rooms."

"The hotel's description was very deceiving. This was my second time in Cancun. Their food was horrible. Everything tasted the same- like nothing. The drinks were watered down. We never had a key that worked for our room. Every single time we had to have someone let us in. The room was closer to a motel room. Two beds a small tv and that's about it. The view was awful. The toilets kept getting clogged. I would not recommend this room to anyone unless you simply need a roof over your head. The staff was very friendly but that is about it. Also, the location was horrible for spring break. It was a 30 minute bus ride to the nightlife."

"Our first time in Cancun. We only stayed at this hotel for two nights. We had added two extra days onto our vacation but couldn't get a room at our other hotel for addtional nights. The staff at this hotel is very friendly. The Best Day travel representative's were all very very great. The pool is nice and the Italian restaurant there is absolutely wonderful...I give the hotel a fair rating because of the above mentioned things. There are two separate buildings I believe. If you stay there make sure you are in the building that it in the same building as the front desk and bar. The building they put us in was a different one and the room smelled terrible of mold and you could see the old mold stains dripping down the outside of the building near the roof. The mold smell was so strong that I believe I started to feel ill from it. However, I knew we were only there for two nights so I didn't want to complain about it. We just didn't spend much time in there anyway. The hotel is 27 years old and doesn't appear to have had much upgrading in that building so that explains the mold smell. However, we still enjoyed our stay here and for the price it is fine."

"This was supposed to be a trip of a life time our sons 17th birthday and celebrating our daughters first pregnancy, please do not even think of going to this 'resort' it is filthy falling down and has horrible service and worse food.... I absolutely have never ever stayed in anything worse and I have stayed in hotels all over the world... So do yourself a favor and stay anywhere but here!!!!!!!Can't say how very bad bad bad it was. "Customer service was great! The rooms however were very small. They put 2 adults and 3 kids in a so called 'family room for five. Not enough room even for four. Antonio at front desk said there is nothing i can do for you, even when i offered to pay extra for something better. We were there for 11 days so we needed something more accommodating. For that reason only i will never stay in that hotel again. In addition, I ended up paying extra $51 to get transportation to the hotel since the voucher giving showed only 2 adults so 'best day' would not take my kids unless I will pay.

"The staff was very friendly but the room left a little to be desired. Paint peeling doors and a musty room smell. The rooms where very small and felt closed in. I observed the bartender just rinsing cups and glasses never being washed just rinsed quickly and then reused to the next person. Also Buffet wasn't very appetizing. Actually switched to another hotel half way during the trip. The pictures are not true to the reality sorry to say...The environment was friendly and the shows done well."

"I wish I could say better things about my stay at the Belle Vue. The best thing about the place was the view and the staff. I want to make sure that the staff know how much they were appreciated for their smiles and service! I spent alot of money in the spa. The girls were just amazing!
TIhe Hotel is very run down. Most of the chairs by the pool are broken, rusted shower rods, banged up doors going into the rooms, busted buttons to the elevator, many areas need paint. The food was just okay.
The first room we were given we found out in the morning that the shower didn't work. Not only that but were right by the elevator and could hear people lauighing and talking. There was so much banging going on we couldn't sleep. We waited all day for a different room. The second room we got was an ocean view room, but there was no clock, and what Hotel doesn't have a coffee pot in the room? Also we could hear the people in the next room brushing teeth, coughing, talking, even using the toilet! Very thin walls. Also this is a smoking Hotel, which if I would have known before I booked I would have chosen a different Hotel. To top it off, and I know they are in all areas of Mexico, but you don't expect to find them in a resort, There it was, a cock roach in the bathroom! I was going to take a shower and lifted up my towel and there it was. A huge cock roach. When I called to have it removed the staff laughed at my disgust. I know this is normal for them, but not for me. They did come and remove it. Overall very disapointing stay.
I have to say on a positive note that the Best Day folks did a fantastic job with all three of our tours and our transfer to and from the airport."

"The food was excellent, and the kitchen manager was a great person; he helped me to get me transferred to a new room. I paid for a luxury room with hot tab. When I got to the room I found a very old and bad smelling room. I request to be moved to another room. The food was good, and the restaurant service was great, the restaurant manager was a great person.
The departure was a night mare; just before leaving the hotel I used the bath room located near the front desk, I had to leave the restroom running because the smell was so strong there that cause me an allergic reaction, I had a miserable trip because I i got an allergic reaction .Furthermore, I got so sick that I had to loose two days of work due to the sickness that the bad smell of mold in the room an the bath room which caused me to get so sick ( I had a very bad allergies) the front desk personal saw me suffocating and nobody helped me or offered me a glass of water. On top of everything, the buss drivers did not recognized the name of the Hotel they knew it under different name. It is so sad that I was sold the McDonald's product. Two days after arriving home I steel ill, and on top of aver thing I lost two days of work.

"The web site stated a gym, but a another guest at the hotel had to walk two blocks to a different hotel for that, they didn't have one afterall. The rooms were a 2.5 star at best. There were cracks in the ceiling and the windows are held together with silicone. Parts of the patio you can't walk on because plaster will fall on you. We went to the Mediterainne restaurant on Xmas eve. They stated turkey stuffed dinner or prime rib. There were three of us and they brought appetizers for the three of us on one plate. Should have been 1 plate for each. The toppings were on stale bread. When dinner was served, the turkey was really shepards pie, leftover turkey from night before and they brought me a pork chop but insisted it was beef. Beef isn't white meat. My room leaked a 1/2' of water from the air conditioning unit. I had to clean it up. My hat went missing on the 5th day. Bought it when I got there and never wore it. When I complained to security, he stated they found it in lost and found. How could it be there when it hadn't left the room. They allow children at the pool bar. The chairs at the pool and beach are so old they go to the floor. The coushions have worn out, so you can't lay on your stomach. I guess I'm more particular than most, but it's not a 4 star hotel. The staff is ok, they try to please but they just don't have it. The hotel needs a full renovation. The food at the bar repeats a lot and they served us a lot of leftovers. BTW, no life guard after 5pm on the beach, two people drowned in one night. It took hotel staff and coast guard over 30 minutes to show up. What a horrible thing to watch. When we asked the staff how their families were, they said oh we don't know but they shouldn't swim after 5. The web site states a few steps from the hotel, try over 2 miles."

"My friend Nathan and I just returned from a 10 day stay at Bellevue Beach Paradise.We had a wonderful time but did encounter a few problems.I decided to go ahead and pay for the safe and the deposit for the safe.I was told by the frontdesk employee that I would have to pay the deposit for the safe with U.S. dollars,however,I would get the deposit back in pesos. I figured it wasn't that big of a deal because I would just spend the pesos on souvenirs before I left on the last day.With that in mind,the night before our departure I went to the frontdesk with my key and lock to retrieve my deposit before visiting the giftshop.The employee at the frontdesk(missed his name)handed me 500 pesos.Here is the problem,the exchange rate at the hotel was 12 pesos to the dollar,50 dollars times 12 pesos equals 600 pesos,I explained the very simple math to him and he responded that I must have known that was what I was getting back or I wouldn't have signed the receipt.INSIST ON GETTING PESOS BEFORE YOU PAY FOR ANYTHING AT FRONTDESK!!!!!!!!!The other problem we had was reservations at the a la carte restaurant.We were told that we would get 2 reservations since we were staying for 10 days.We used our first reservation and the food was awesome.We decided to use our last reservation on Saturday(it's closed on Sunday)because we were leaving Monday.I went to make the reservation Saturday morning(your only allowed to make the reservation the morning of the day you want it)and was told the reservations were full.That evening after I had eaten at the buffet I decided to peak in the Meditteraneo to see how full it was,there was one table in the whole place being used!!!This was about 6:30.I went back later around 8:30 to find only 4 tables being used,what a ripoff.Otherwise it was a wonderful trip,however I will most likely stay at a different resort next year.

"Four of us stayed at the BelleVue which was fantastic. The location was excellent, the food was great. My daughter got involved in the turtle program helping the lifegaurd rescue and release the baby turtles. Across the road was a brilliant seafood restaurant on the lagoon. One of the trips we took was on the 'Aqua Duck' an amphibious vehicle that travels around Cancun and then goes into the lagoon where dolphins were swimming alongside and the guide was really funny. Would reccomend Coc Bongo for young or old. Would definitely go back again."

"We stayed at this resort from 10/15/11-10/21/11. The resort itself needs alot of updating, it does not have the glitz that more pricier resorts have. However, it made up for it by the outrageously delicious food, the staff attention, and immaculate everything! We had a problem with the first room we had because we had a terrible storm Saturday night into Sunday and the deck door rattled all night long and so neither me nor my husband slept and they graciously moved us on Sunday and the rest of the trip was fine. We also booked Best Day for airport travel and that was fine, we waited maybe 5 minutes for them at the airport. We definitely plan on going back to Cancun and this resort"

"It was farther from the nightlife than I expected, but by bus was ok, also it needs some new paint on the staircase and the railings are needing to be replaced and some rust on the doors, but overall, very nice. The ocean view and the loud sound of the ocean makes this place very tranquil and serene. The food and wait staff was good and I would stay there again. The price for this package was well worth it."

"Overall the vacation was great. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Our only complaints are that the bar was only open from 10am-midnight. We know there are hotels with 24hour bars and we thought this was one. We went to a store to buy liquor and we were told we needed to be quiet and this was in bar area. The other issue is that one of the a la carte restuarants was closed 3 out of 5 days we were there so lack of availability. "

The hotel was old and run down, but the staff was super friendly and the beach was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
If you want to go cheap and don't mind the average food, a noisy room (we could hear almost every word our neighbor said), and want an AMAZING beach with beautiful water, then I would recommend this place. I will try to save a little extra so I can pay more for a nice place-but this was a short trip and we lived the whole time on the beach and never in the room so it was perfect for that."
