"This hotel allows booking for all inclusive and also just books the room itself. We purchased an all-inclusive package with Belair. We we arrived, they checked us in, but gave us no information as to where and what was offered in the package. After asking another guest, we finally requested the sheet of information from the front desk. There is mainly one restaurant (there is a sushi bar and a cabana by the pool that have limited hours of operation). We mainly relied on the primary restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and supper. They have posted hours of operation and would commonly open 1/2 hour to 1 hour late. Some of the wait staff was good, and others were not, as we would have to request a fill on our drinks multiple times. Most of them did not speak good english. My husband and I came to the conclusion that this must be the resort that trains all the newbies. The room itself was clean, but you could tell that the hotel was very old and was renovated, but with poor workmanship. There was no entertainment, especially at night time. Also, it was very frustrating that every time we wanted, a drink, a snack, a meal, we had to provide our name, room number, and our signature. This place is certainly not ran as a non-inclusive resort. We did not get charged for any of the items, but it was annoying to sign for every little drink. Also, my last, yet most important complaint is that we received a knock on the door by two men that worked for the hotel. I could not understand their english and thought they wanted to fix our door key. When I let them in, one of the men was carrying a tank and was coming in to SPRAY THE ROOM!!! Are you kidding me! We told him no and asked what bugs they were spraying for. I asked specifically about bed bugs. He said no, no, just mosquitos. I did not see one mosquito during my stay. I did check the mattress for bed begs and did not find any. Still, you do NOT come into a room with guests in it and start spraying for bugs!!! Very unprofessional!!!!"

"The flight and the Hotel were great as expected and planned. The flights were on time both to and from. The hotel was very nice. It is an older smaller hotel. However, the atmosphere is wonderful, the people are friendly and very helpful!! Food was ok, beds are cozy and the showers were clean and nice!
We did the Ocean Front rooms, and it was worth every penny!
Only thing would be the convenience to shopping or the bars, it was about a 10 min ride on the city bus. We would definitely stay here again!!
We also used Best Day Travel for our travel to and from the hotel and for the excursions we went on. I would recommend waiting to plan those until you get there. IF you get them online, you do not get refunded ANY of your money if it gets rained out or canceled!!"

"This hotel was okay. Pros: the hotel staff was great! Especially in the dining room! Pool bartenders were okay...we are a couple...they like the single ladies, can't blame them for that! Place was clean, food was a 7 out of 10 and drinks were weak, but they were weak everywhere! Cons: a rotten sewage smell comes from all bathroom drains...the universal machine in the gym is horrible! Only one thing on it works! When I told the front desk about it...her reply was ' people don't come here to workout'...I said I'm here! But it didn't help. They should fix it if they gonna advertise a gym on property. I like to workout...yes, even on vacation!
If you're looking for a bargain, its the place to stay!! Go all inclusive and tips are not included...take care of them, because they will take great care of you!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Bel Air and Cancun in general. We booked six nights. Our first day was pretty rainy so the hotel was pretty dead, but that was no ones fault. The rest of the time was wonderful! We didn't get all-inclusive, and now we're glad we didn't! We only ate at the hotel the first day and it was average, not great. The rest of the time we went to Market 28 for lunch(which highly recommend for good, cheap and local food!!!) We loved that the hotel is small and only caters to couples. So it's not loud and crazy at all. The beach is great! Very clean and beautiful! We had it to ourselves most of the time. The pool is neat and clean too but we spent most of the time at the beach. The staff is friendly and works hard. There was always someone cleaning. Our room was very clean. AC worked great! Shower and bathroom clean! No complaints at all. And the bed, man that bed, was soo comfortable, we both slept like babies every night! Every night we'd find a small pastry and our bed ready for us to jump in with the TV on on the weather channel. This hotel is obviously not a 5 star resort type, but it was cozy, quiet and refreshing and very relaxing. We would stay here again. If you want 5 star, go to the other gigantic hotels with huge families, that are loud and packed all the time."

"we loved this hotel...our stay was wonderful, romantic all we could have dreamed for...and the staff was amazing!!! overall it was a trip of a lifetiime and we will be back!!!! "Great hotel.right on the beach with a good size pool to over look the Caribbean ocean.rooms where pretty good,big comfy beds.
Ac didn't really adjust in our room tho and often sounded like a tractor,wifi only works in some rooms and when you lock your phone the Internet disconnects."

"This is the general consensus at this hotel. You ask a question and they seem annoyed that you want a correct answer. They give you just enough of a reply to get you out of their face. Some folks have good intentions, but the execution was piss poor. The all inclusive is not worth it!!! If you stay here don't buy the all inclusive. We didn't purchase it, but planned to upgrade at the hotel to 'test run' it. The Garganzola steak, and steak with lentils are the only things I ate. You are much better served getting on the bus and going into the town. There is no variety. They have two menus. Both with limited food. The hotel operates like the lazy mouse in the Speedy Gonzales cartoon. No initiative UNTIL you tip. Then everyone is your friend, they make nice towel ornaments on your bed, bring treats...
I personally will not go back though. Not so much because of the hotel which I think was good for the value, but the area is very annoying. Everyone, and I mean absolutely EVERYONE has their hand out. They are well versed in the art of the guilt trip as well, so be wary. NO kind deed is free in this area.
If you plan on buying souvenirs, wait until you get to the ruins! DO NOT SHOP AT THE GIFT SHOP ON THE WAY. Lastly whatever price they give you, cut it in half. They have very high impressions of our wallets!
Lastly, get plenty of pesos for the bus. They will cheat you if you use dollars. Bus ride is 8.5 pesos. A dollar is 12 pesos. The bus only gives you 10 pesos for the dollar, and even then some drivers will pocket it and look at you lol.

"I stayed here for six days under the all-inclusive plan. I booked the trip very last minute, and did not set standards very high, but Bel Air Collections still managed to disappoint.

The lunch and dinner food is above average.. not great, but definitely acceptable. Nice presentation and varying tastes. However, there were never any Specials and the menus never rotated (unless they were out of something). The breakfast is a small buffet style and was completely lacking, no bacon? sausage? two types of cereal? soggy pancakes, cold wet french toast. And no Bloody Mary's?!

Now on to the wait staff - There were one or two friendly fellows there, but for the most part, the staff was frantic, cold, and often rude. They always seemed disorganized and busy, even though the restaurant wouldn't even be that full. But the true downfall - their punctuality and management. First dinner - restaurant opened 20 mins late (we had just landed and were starving) Second dinner - arrived at 9:15 and were told the italian restaurant was closed (all restaurants are supposed to close at 11) Third night - tried room service, which is decently priced but outside the all-inclusive plan, No pollo! Chicken is 3/4 of the options on the menu!! Fourth Night - 8:15 Try italian restaurant again, 30 mins wait. We put name on list. Come back at 8:45 - told they're full and now closed for the night. Three open tables are in sight. I ask for manager and we get seated. Only one additional table was seated after that and again many, many open tables -- frantic waiters running around. Just complete disarray, and we witnessed three neighboring tables have their orders mixed up. Why not just offer the guests classy buffet tables, and ALL these problems could be fixed!

AND the drinks - Not much was expected, but wow, were they bad! Pool bartender is SLOW, cold, and rude (if eye contact is even made). the drinks were weak and were never fresh ingredients. Strawberry Dacari was vibrant red! And only two beer options, one when you're in the rooms. But the Beach Waiter (forgot his name) is great! He was always courteous and accommodating.

Overall: Decor - attractive but dingy. Cleanliness - acceptable. And front desk - friendly but slow and unreliable. Food - Average. Drinks - below average. Service - poor. Views - Breathtaking! Affordable. With all the other updated options on the hotel strip - I would probably not go back to the Bel Air Collection (unless I heard about a complete restaurant overhaul)
