"We have a family of five and that means two rooms requided but appearently we could of got away with one room and a cot. So as we get to the Costa Cancun we check in, we were told that they do not have ajoining rooms for us. Wow not this again!! the front desk ask if we requested this? I showed them our paper work on this request, and they quickly appoligized that they did not have any rooms at this time, but check in the morning.This was not what we wanted any way they did managed to find us an ajoining room by the third day. The hotel desk did question why we required two rooms instead of one, just upgrade with a cot. We spent more money then we had to. but after all we had a great time, we would go back."

"We traveled beginning of March, we traveled with a small toddler. The overall experience was okay. There are only three restaurants at the resort, one of the three restaurants are split into two different themes. The buffet restaurant food was awful, the food was dry and very blunt. The only restaurant was worth eating was Mexico Linda, great food and service. The staff is very friendly, and they nightly shows are very entertaining. The beach although is very small and had a lot of see weed so not very clean at all, it is also used as a loading dock for boats so most of the time it smelled like gasoline. The bathroom are very old and rusted, its kind of gross, but the maids keep the room very clean and the in room fridge is refilled daily. The 24 hour snack buffet that they have has no good food. I myself would never pay to go to this resort again now would I recommend it to anyone I know."

"My last trip to cancun was a one to remember with the service an great experience at barcelo, the entertainment staff took us to every club ! the beach is not that great because is small but if you want to relax is a good deal for you.
Te restaurants a la carte are a good choice if you dont want to have buffet for 14 days, i specially like Mexico Lindo. the bar staff very good but you have to tip!"
"I truly recommend this hotel, just I will say that the front desk personel need to improve the costumer service skills because they don`t help u at all. Food was very good, 3 different restaurants a la carte Mexican (the best), Claraboya and Quijote. The buffet had a lot of variety so you don`t get bored every single night a different theme. The rooms are ok with a good terrace with a hammock. The people very friendly, and you have the clubs and the downtown just five minutes far from the hotel."

Driving directions from Cancun International Airport:
Exit airport, take airport access road east and take Hwy 307 north towards Cancun. Take a right onto Blvd Kukulcán, and proceed to the hotel at Km 4.5. Hotel is on left side of street. Appoximate driving time to the Barelo Costa Real All Inclusive is 30 minutes and distance is 22 miles.
