"We had to change rooms because of no hot water and a sewer gas smell in room. The second room offered also had no hot water. Thired room started out OK but after 5 or 6 days started getting sewer smell, we left window open after that. Hotel had rented orginal room and it must have still smelled as they ended up opening up all of the plumbing access doors on the 4th floor, it cured the smell in the room but they need to fix the problem.Be aware that if you order a room with a balcony it will not be as advertised will not have sitting area and hamcock but will be 16' wide french balcony."

"This is an excellent small/medium size hotel in Cancun (359 rooms). It is on a compact well designed site which means little to no 'leg-work' to get to the places you want to be. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful at all times. Excellent food quality and variety. The evening poolside shows were stunning. Amongst the shows, we saw an amazing aquatics show in the pool, a spectacular Mayan show with dress, body paint and feathesr going back 1,000s of years and a more modern tap/flamenco show. We just love experiences the cultures of every country we visit. The the best bits were....the endless hot sunny days, fabulous beach and truely all inclusive inclusive package. The waitresses seemded to be there all the time checking that your glass was full enough...no tedious queuing for what seems like 'hours' at a bar trying to get the waiter's attention. 10/10!!"

"Very disappionted with front desk. We were promissed $550in resort credit on arrival, nope!!! coupons to to upgrade things that were way over priced. but It took 3 days for the staff to tell us that. Food was horrible, it was left sitting out and different items were bad. Drinks have drops of alcohol in them and I' m not a big drinker so that is bad coming from me. The hotel was clean and the rest of the staff was nice. Ocean water was cold and so was the pool. Pool is very small for that many people."

"Let me start off by saying the bed makes or breaks the trip for me and it was soooooooo comfortable. Slept like a baby. The hotel was very clean and the staff extremely friendly. The food was really good. DRINKS WERE ENDLESS.

Not sure if it was just the tourist area but the roads were really clean. We took the bus R2 bus to the flea market (Market 28) it was fun.

The only downside to the trip (which they had no control over) was the sea water being cold but I took a dip anyway. Other than that had a GREAT time and definitely going back."

"Our overall experience and first all-inclusive was excellent. The staff were always friendly and helpful and busy working around the grounds, constantly cleaning. Our room was perfectly clean with tile floors, sitting area, balcony overlooking pool and ocean with a hammock. We used the safe in the closet for valuables. The pool was gorgeous but we didn't go to Cancun to get in a pool. The hotel had activities all during the day and nightly entertainment which was always different and very good. Afterwards, if you wanted more nightlife, the hotel offered trips/rides to various clubs. There was something for everyone. The hotel is smaller and located in the older, northern area, but that was our preference than the huge, newer 'vegas' style hotels. The lobby was open aired, with 4 TVs and bar. People congregated there alot. There was also a bar on the beach which was smaller, but that was our preference and it was clean and well attended. There are 'grasses' most everywhere off of the coast, some worse than others. There were restaurant choices that required reservations or a buffet. Yes, the food was different, but what do you expect? Everyone could find something they liked. Also, at the buffets, you could get dishes made to your order. We had a wonderful time."

"While we stayed at cancun, barcelo costaa cancun it was a horrible experience. I went there with my husband. I threw up few times and my husband vomited as well. there are many variety of food but they are not fresh and probably expired. it is not a hotel it is a motel however they charged lots of money for it. the staff are friendly, but the place is not so good., i strongly do not recommend for people to go there on vacation . Just a lot of waste of money and no fun at all. very boring."

"The hotel was a great experience for my family and me. It was more than we expected, and the staff took care of our every need. The service was unmatched. I have been to Hawaii as well, but the service was nowhere close to what we got in Cancun. The downside is the beach is small and right next to a loading dock, which you get a lot of smell of kerosene from. My family and I are vegetarian, and the restaurants had a lot of choices. The room was clean, and well kept. Food and drinks were available at all times which was fantastic. I wish the pool had a swim up bar, but other than that the pool was great."

"I just came back from my trip yesterday. 5/22/12. The Hotel was above average for the price. What I mean by that is : I paid for a 3 Star Hotel and the quality was 4 Star. Do not expect a 5 star when you pay for a 3 star that is not fair. Having said that I visited many order place while I was in Cancun. The negative stuff about this Hotel is that the Beach is very small and there is green vegetation under the sea in some part of it, and I don't feel like that they clean them fast enough, when they came on shore. The food is OK , a little salty, but overall good, The staff is great and friendly. There is a $ 200 credit advertise for this Hotel, it's basically a coupon book. For example you have to spent $100 to get a $ 10 off. The entertainment is free and it was great. I had the all inclusive package including alcohol. So if you like to drink, you can actually drink the cost of the vacation in alcohol drinks alone. One more thing, please don't go to see Chichen Itza / Temple. Is not that big and it's too far. Some company will take up to 7 Hours to get there. If you have 1 day to waste , then you can go."

"We have a family of five and that means two rooms requided but appearently we could of got away with one room and a cot. So as we get to the Costa Cancun we check in, we were told that they do not have ajoining rooms for us. Wow not this again!! the front desk ask if we requested this? I showed them our paper work on this request, and they quickly appoligized that they did not have any rooms at this time, but check in the morning.This was not what we wanted any way they did managed to find us an ajoining room by the third day. The hotel desk did question why we required two rooms instead of one, just upgrade with a cot. We spent more money then we had to. but after all we had a great time, we would go back."

"We traveled beginning of March, we traveled with a small toddler. The overall experience was okay. There are only three restaurants at the resort, one of the three restaurants are split into two different themes. The buffet restaurant food was awful, the food was dry and very blunt. The only restaurant was worth eating was Mexico Linda, great food and service. The staff is very friendly, and they nightly shows are very entertaining. The beach although is very small and had a lot of see weed so not very clean at all, it is also used as a loading dock for boats so most of the time it smelled like gasoline. The bathroom are very old and rusted, its kind of gross, but the maids keep the room very clean and the in room fridge is refilled daily. The 24 hour snack buffet that they have has no good food. I myself would never pay to go to this resort again now would I recommend it to anyone I know."
