I stayed with Banyan Tree Mayakoba this past week. I was blown away by the level of service. I have never in my life stayed anywhere where the service was so perfect. I wish I knew the names of all the staff members who made for such an excellent stay. Seriously -- top notch!

I was completely blown away by the experience at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba. I don't even know what I liked best...the incredible villa, the exceptional service, the wonderful food, the beautiful property and beach, the fun bikes we used all over the Mayakoba...everything was just so perfect, it made it so hard to leave! I think this wins for my favorite hotel I've ever stayed at, and I only hope I can come back again one day!

The Banyan Tree Mayakoba´s staff is one of the most attentive and efficient at any hotel. The Villas are magnificent with great spaces and plenty of amenities to enjoy the day, the room swimming pools are nice and you can enjoy total privacy. The Saffron restaurant has an average and overpriced Thai cuisine, yet placed in a very romantic location. Dining options at hotel are few and nothing worth mentioning, my experience with room service options was remarkably poor and below the overall ... Read more

Everything was great, our Cabin was espectacular, very secluded place, great for lovers. to many anemities, we couldn´t enjoy it all. You need at least 4-5 nights and days to explore and enjoy the sorroundings. The beach is great, you make it either by golf cart or biking. Biking was a very nice experience, like if you were in a rural town. We tried couple of restaurants and the main bar, it was pretty good. The pool inside the villa is just great. imagine what you can do in a private villa.

We were staying in Mayakoba rosewood and took the boat over to banyan tree for some variety. We were thoroughly disappointed. Our server was slow and there restaurant was empty so he certainly could have been more attentive. The food was not good at all and widely expensive for what we were served. We should have saved the time and gone somewhere else. The beach however looked beautiful and the grounds were well kept.

It was our first time staying in Playa del Carmen and I am so happy we picked Banyan Tree Mayakoba. We stayed there for three nights. It is such a gorgeous resort and the staff is so amazing! We went there for our Anniversary and they made our stay so special. Our villa had a private pool, jacuzzi, and a separated pool house with large table, tv, and daybed. We were really looking forward to spending 3 days at this resort. Money obviously was not an issue staying at this property. With the amount of money we are about to spend, we expected the level of service to match. Pulling into the property, we went through a jungle of windy road and finally ended up at the front entrance. It was spectacular! From the time we disembarked our ride, we were looking forward to a special treat for us and the extended family. But the "honeymoon" became a nightmare a... Read more

Really great on all levels - service, food, location, and service again! Rooms were great, and very unique providing your own oasis if you wanted it. Beach front and Sands were our favorite largely due to the team down there - Manolo, Gamma, Spencer, Carlos and Emelio all super attentive and fun! Worth trying Tomahawk and Tamarind - would not guess a steakhouse and a new Italian in Mexico would be worth it but had EXCELLENT and unique meals at both. Can't say enough good things about Banyan Tree Mayakoba!! From the second we arrived we were completely relaxed and taken care of by the amazing staff. Zen Luxury! We returned after a six year hiatus, time flies when your having fun. The Banyan Tree hasn't missed a beat. Our spa villa, the staff/service, the cuisine, and the grounds make it the place to be in Mayakoba. Although at almost full capacity, you have the sense you're the only visitors. Banyan Tree Mayakoba is 6 stars on a 5 star scale. I spent five days with my wife and daughters (14 and 12) and the facility exceeded high expectations. The pool villas are as beautiful as they look in the pictures. Ours was located within walking distance of the beach which was spectacular. The main facility is impeccable with restaurants, gym, spa, and other amenities. There are activities that you can par take or you can spend the days relaxing. We stayed at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba for 2 nights last week, and it was our best experience in Mexico. After I had an unfortunate incident at the villa, the hotel staff and management made sure to make our stay the most comfortable and memorable of our trip. We had never been to PDC, but after arriving to Banyan Tree, we were enchanted with how serene it was and ended up spending the full 2 days in our villa and enjoying the facilities. We stayed at Banyan Tree for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon. We were met by a host who was extremely polite and checked us in with no hassle. We were offered an upgraded villa with a heated pool for an extra $500 however opted to keep the basic villa and given that the pool was already very warm in the August sun and our original villa was only 50m from the main building we were glad we didn't waste the extra money. I will do my best to be brief here, but when trying review such an exceptional place like the Banyan Tree Mayakoba - it simply seems like there are not enough words to capture it all. My wife and I had our wedding nuptials with 40 our closest family and friends -- two giant families who had never met - and the Banyan Tree created the most relaxing, breath-taking, and peaceful home for us all to share. We stayed in a serenity pool villa for five nights on our honeymoon. The Villa is gorgeous and very private. With your own pool, hot tub, sundeck and two different rooms, it has it all. The golf course on property is top notch as well as the pool areas and restaurants. My only complaint would be the price of the food. It's very high and that's the only reason I ranked it a four instead of a five. Expect to spend at least $500 a day between breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks throughout the day.... Read more

This is a very pretty property with a lovely beach. The villas are very nice and were perfect for a group of friends celebrating our 40th birthday. Unfortunately, the bikes don't work well and the resort doesn't offer bike helmets, which led to a very serious accident during my stay.
