"We will return to Isla Mujeres but would stay at a different hotel. The beds were hard, the air conditioner was noisy. The first night we arrived and got to dinner @ 7:30. 2 hours later we had finally finished. There were only a few other people dining that night. The food was just ok. We had asked for a lower level room when we made our reservations. We ended up on the top floor and when I asked about moving the answer I received was they had nothing available. Funny considering we noticed very few people at the hotel for the 5 days we were there. Exchange rate everywhere we went was 12.5 to 1 US the hotel 11 to 1. The only real positive thing about this hotel was the beach. Great island to visit to just relax. Rent a golf cart and drive anywhere, just do not get it from the hotel. There fee was $55 from 9am to 5pm. Short walk down the street and you can get it $45 and 24hours. Food downtown was great!"

"This was our first trip to Isla Mujeres. All I can say is that it was the BEST. Beautiful place to stay, wait staff was just great. I can't say anything bad about our service. The food was great, the views were great the snorkleing was great. The only thing I can say that was bad were the beds. They were really hard, but I was starting to get use to them by the time we left. We were there for 7 days and maybe ust maybe we might get to go back some day. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away for a relaxing vacation and great fishing. We went sailfishing with our friends who was down running a charer beat. The fishing had been really great up until the week we came down. We did not go the first day we had a charter because of the wind blowing so much. We did get in the second day and caught 17 sailfish. We had a blast. You need to try and plan a vacation here. You will have the best time ever."

"Just thought I would write a little bit about our recent visit to Avalon Reef Club on Isla Mujeres. The hotel staff are really nice and friendly. Was alittle disapointed with some of the things like ROCK HARD BEDS, no coffee service in the room less the first day, noisy air conditioners, no bed side lamps, and a shower system that was very unique. Could never set the water temp and have it hold temperature. Would oscillate between cold to very hot every 20 seconds or so. Wife and I called it the water dance. The grounds are very well kept but the buildings seem to need abit of work. Lots of cracks, leaking thatch roofs, etc. The beaches are beautiful. Great swimming, snorkling, and sun bathing.Overall the experience was OK.
As far as going to downtown for meals, the experience was fantastic. The nicest people seemed to work in these restraunts. The food was good at great prices. We used the cab service on occasions and they were very nice and really friendly drivers.
We will vacation again on Isla Mujeres but I think we will stay somewhere else on the island."
"The all inclusive part was very minimal. Water was 60 pesos/liter (not supplied) and you were not allowed to have food or drink not bought at the hotel in public areas. No beverage with meal plan, not even water. No snack bar, limited menu items for meals. Transportation is only to the island ferry terminal then there's another 1/2 mile walk to the hotel which was difficult and we were not made aware of,we are disabled. The hotel room was minimal and small. Coffee was only supplied for the first night, then you would have to pay extra. Snorkle equipment was also extra. The grounds, beach and the views were fantastic. To bad that what we expected was
not there. We tried to reach Bookit with number they provided and it did not work on the pay phone the hotel had. They also said they did not have many people who did the all inclusive plan and no one seemed to know how it worked. We asked for a free upgrade like the info we got when we booked said and no one on staff knew about this either and said they where full and to check in the am. Well no one knew then either and there really was not any other people staying in the hotel only people in the villas. They said it would be $50. a night to upgrade."
"Stayed at this hotel 24 yeras ago - liked it then and liked it now when we went between Nov 19-25
Beautiful beach - great restaurant and bar staff - great dive shop on premise.
Beautifull ocean veiw suites - suites not that fancy but for the price great deal - comfortable bed
Strongly recommend to visit - hotel is great but the island restaurants are even better

You will not be disappointed - great hotel and tranquille island setting
We will be returning again next year"
