"Was upgraded to Playa Grande. We had a beautiful suite and enjoyed it. The only problem was with tips. We were all inclusive but tried to tip extra. We are not sure if we were tipping in dollars or pesos when we added to the credit card."

"This small hotel is a little gem; staff is very friendly, the entire property is very clean and well-maintained. Our beds, including the sofa bed were very comfortable. The beach is beautiful and free of vendors and horses. The food was healthy, tasty, well-prepared and beautifully presented. We totally enjoyed the sushi bar every lunch time, especially the salmon and tuna sashimi. Their all-inclusive is served a la carte, so do plan for tipping at each meal. The drinks were also very good.

This hotel does not have a fitness facility, but Solmar guests are allowed to use the very well appointed fitness and other facilities at the Playa Grande, a ten minute walk on either the beach or the road.

Personally, although the Grande Solmar is probably more luxurious, I liked the ambiance of the Solmar better than the Grande Solmar.

The one downside was the Grande Solmar construction noise, however, it in no way distracted from our peace and relaxation. We did experience some issues with getting the management/staff to keep the heat going in the hot tub into the evenings."

"We love everything in this hotel. It's fancy as what you think it exceeded our expectations. All the stuff were very helpful to us. They even upgraded our suite from Junior to Master with no charge. You will see all the stuff day and night cleaning every corner of the resort. We were able to enjoy our vacation because it wasn't crowded and no vendors on the beach. Although the beach is not swimmable, just hearing the sound of the ocean waves while sitting on their palapas makes you want to stay there longer. There was a construction going on but it didn't bother as at all. I love their all-inclusive meal. We will definitely coming back next year."

"Just returned a few days ago, and I must say we had an amazing time! I thought the food and drink value of the all-inclusive package was incredible and made our vacation extremely convenient. If you're going to stay here, I would definitely recommend the all-inclusive package. It's hassle free, the food tasted great, and the staff was extremely friendly. Would love to come back again!"
