Great location in Sliema and St Julians Bay is less than a 30 min walk. Reception staff so friendly especially Charles. Breakfast staff so nice with a special mention to the gentleman who makes the omelettes. Lovely to use the facilities of the adjoining 5 Star hotel The Palace like the pool, indoor pool, gym and sauna. Downsides the housekeeping staff woke me nearly every morning talking in the halls and breakfast is quite mediocre. A v pleasant stay overall!

This is our second visit to the Victoria hotel and we are delighted to stay there. On our arrival, we received a very warm welcome at reception. All the staff cherish repeat customers and are always willing to assist in any way they can. The hotel has been refurbished (almost finished) and our room was spotless and spacious, with a sea view from the small balcony. Car parking under the hotel is an added bonus. We normally stay at Le Meridian but I found this hotel on Trip Advisor and I am so glad we did. We booked a superior room on the 6th floor and we were really happy with the room size and facilities. The hotel is in a lovely residential part of Sliema and is so different to the rather unpleasant seafront/ferry area. The service was excellent in all of the hotel, but special mention must be made of Charles, at the front desk, who was the best front of house person I have ever met - and I am a sea... Read more

We stayed here for 6 nights in April and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean and there was a good range of different foods for breakfast. We tried the TemptAsian restaurant on the roof and found the ambience and food really good. We tried the spa for a massage and facial and can also recommend this. The staff were always helpful in giving advice or organizing trips. If the opportunity arises to visit Malta again, I would seriously consider staying at... Read more

We had done plenty of research on hotels in Sliema before we went and we were not disappointed with our selection. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. It may have helped when we were upgraded.....lol!. The rooms were big, clean, modern (having been refurbished recently) and had a small balcony overlooking the sea. The bed was a good size and the bathroom was excellent. They had a fantastic roof top patio over looking the town and views of Valletta, together with a infinity pool. T... Read more

Recently returned from my twice yearly trip to Malta and the Victoria. As always a very pleasant experience from check in until it's time to leave. The staff in whatever position can't do enough for you and ensure your stay is a friendly and comfortable holiday. After very many visits arriving at the Victoria is like visiting friends. Can't wait for the Autumn breakand renewing acquaintances. Personally I can't recommend it strongly enough!.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at The Victoria in Sliema. We booked B&B and our only niggle with breakfast was the lack of fresh fruit. Facilities were top notch, terrace infinity pool & bar, Spa, Wellness centre. We used the Spa twice and treatments were 5 star. Bedrooms ample and beds comfortable. Balcony disappointing. Staff were excellent everywhere in the hotel. Only complaints were shower leaking in our bathroom which unfortunately took 3 days to repair and our room was on 7th floor ... Read more

The staff in this hotel are incredibly welcoming and helpful. So nice to be treated as a valued guest - you just don't get this experience in many hotels anymore. Was upgraded to one of the recently re-furbished deluxe suites. The room was very nice although I would have preferred a softer bed! Was also nice to have a sitting area and a fridge to keep your drinks in. The room had a tiny balcony overlooking the street. Every time we come back to The Victoria (we try to make one trip every year) there's improvements done. Lobby , bar and restaurant have been refurbished, as well as most of the rooms. Those things are all wonderful discoveries when we come back, but what pleases us most is the stag who remain a constant factor. Always welcoming and courteous, genuine warmth always present. The Furnishings and ambience reflex a bygone era of gentile colonialism. Staff are attentive and at the front desk quite assertive and 'full-on' in modern jargon. The standard of breakfast varies daily. There may be two coffee machines working or just one. One day there were no fresh pastries, scrambled egg or mushrooms. On other days everything was available but the dining room full so we sat in the bar. None of these negatives spoilt our day but they did let down the attempted grandeur of the ... Read more

We stayeed one week in Malta. The hotel has one of the best gym facilities we have seen at holiday hotels, and we ended up working out everyday, and I also spent time at their indoor pool (they also have an outdoor pool). Every day, we walked down the hill to catch a bus to Valletta or other towns and returned by bus. It was very convenient. The staff are a credit to the hotel, unable to fault the service received. Buffet style food so you can eat as much or as little as you wish. The roof top terrace and pools are the crowning glory of the hotel with the most fantastic views. Great place to start your evening off with a cocktail.

On checking In, we received one of the unrenovated rooms. It was terribly hot and the AC was ineffective. But the staff helped all they could and moved us the next night to a renovated room, which was excellent. The location is a 7 minute walk from the Sliema ferry. It's steeply uphill though. However, being away from the beaches, it's very quiet (and so are the guests :))

Stayed for a week in early November. Front desk staff were really friendly and helpful. Possibly the best we have experienced for a number of years, never too busy to look up and say hello. We stayed on the sixth floor with a partial sea view from the balcony. Room very quiet, bed massive (two large singles pushed together) and all very clean. Only minor gripes were lack of decaf coffee in the room, that one has to pay for the safe and that the air con was rather noisy. Visited the bar do... Read more

Booked through a travel agent that is presumably named after a planet. Requested high room via them, but ended up in low room. Charles Portelli came to our rescue after a few days and upgraded us to a luxury room at no extra cost. However, we did find both rooms really comfortable with a balcony adequate for two people. Most reviews have covered all aspects of hotel, location, friendly staff, dining experience, roof top views, etc., so I can only suggest you believe the positives. In future... Read more

We regularly stay at the Victoria and are never disappointed. The staff led by Charles Portelli are all very welcoming and friendly. Stayed in one of the recently upgraded rooms which was very smart and spacious. Bathroom was also very smart and bath had a fixed shower head and also hand spray very useful. Once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

My wife and I were booked into the Victoria Hotel for a week commencing 20th September this year.Unfotunately whilst on the bus to Mdina I had my wallet stolen. Charles Portelli with one of his assistants Karl were marvellous in helping us in any and every way that they could, including a complementary meal in the hotel .we commend all the staff at the Victoria who were all guilty of providing that not so often seen today EXCELLENT SERVICE

Stayed for a week as part of a business trip. Second time staying at this friendly hotel. Reception staff really friendly and helpful and the newly refurbished rooms are nicely decorated. Laminate wood floors do mean it is a little noisy from neighbouring rooms and my French door was not locking properly. Restaurant staff are all lovely and very attentive, menu was exactly the same on this visit as my previous visit in May 2014, a bit of variety would have been nice, having said that food is a... It looked beautiful at a first glance, but then the carpet was disgustingly dusty and with long blonde hair all over it, the bathtub was rusty and painted over the drainage (and after a week the paint was coming off already), the bed linen were too small and the mattress was visible every morning, and the bed was actually composed of 2 double beds put together. While this made it huge, if you wanted to sleep close to your partner you needed to actually sleep in 1 half of the bed, cause the middl... Read more

Spotlessly clean, well positioned, value for money hotel, very friendly helpful staff, good food and well equipped rooms - and worth mentioning great wifi in the rooms and public areas. Roof top bar and pool Parking on site which is very important as there is literally no where to park in Sliema

My partner and I have just return from a 4 night break in Sliema, Malta staying at The Victoria Hotel. The staff are very helpful and attentive. The hotel décor is fresh and modern, I understand the whole hotel is due to be modernised shortly. Our room on the 3rd floor was a little dated but perfectly clean and comfortable. On the 8th floor there is a well equipped gym, indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna which added a touch of luxury to our stay. The hotel is located in a quiet side str... Read more

Could not submit a review for Visit 37 as is was less than 3 months since Visit 36 so treat this as a joint review. The rooms on the floors still to be refurbished is on schedule to start in December a long trek from start to finish of all the floors but well worth the wait. In addition the exterior facade of the hotel is to get a facelift (cannot remember when but soon we think) this is another example of the management attitude of this hotel in that appearance is important. The hotel was ver... Read more

Beautiful hotel, all areas are well looked after, the spa is wonderful and the helpful staff team really made a difference. I usually stay in The Palace 'next door' but would be happy to stay here again.

Awesome Staff!!! Very helpful and always ready to assist whenever needed. Nice room, gym, wellness club, pool and bar. Very good value for the price. Its a 4 star hotel with 5 star service. They provided everything we needed (taxis, tours, food, directions etc). As the food is not the strongest side of Malta, its a good option to eat at the hotel.

An international hotel with British orientation. It enjoys a friendly, mixed aged clientel. Along with the adjoining five star hotel The Palace it provides a versatile cuisine, good restaurants and bar/pub facilities as well as friendly lounges - an environment, where we were pleased to invite friends at various occasion. The restaurant themen nights are great, the Italian night as well as the fish nights are a must. Also the sun pa facilities are excellent. The inside and top roof swimming poo... Read more

This must be the twelfth visit to the Victoria hotel and once again I could not fault the facilities. When my husband and I arrive it's like returning home. We are always met with a warm welcome and a friendly smile. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they are always so helpful and willing to assist they are a credit to the hotel. The food is excellent and varied, something for everyone's taste. The pool and sauna facilities are great particularly in November and the gym is well equippe... Read more

I'd recommend The Victoria Hotel in Sliema, in particular for its location. It's in easy access of everything, but you're not on the main road, so not disturbed by noise. The public areas in the hotel, i.e. Reception and dining room were very impressive. I'd also recommend the spa area, which was shared with the Palace hotel next door. There is also a roof terrace, which I'm sure is lovely in the summer. The bedroom, I would describe as faded grandeur. It was ok, but had past its best. Nonethel... Read more
