Our room is being reserved as we only reach hotel by 5pm.. The receptionist approach us with good manner and show us which are the useful maps that can help us go around Georgetown. Would like to suggest if hair dryer can be install in every room is a good idea because returning the hair dryer to the reception, we need to take out the room card and the electricity will switch off as one of our spouse need to stay in dark.

Everything was awesome. Friendly staffs & location are strategic. Just the wifi not strong enough to supply the whole floor guest. Just walk across & you can found hawker street. My bf love the security old uncle for doing his job so well. Will come back again.

Excellent room, location and staffs. Stayed a couple of days in the hotel. The best part is the location. Very near to the city centre.Staffs are really very helpful and provided valuable information.Overall very good hotel.

Rooms are small - as expected of budget hotels, but well equipped. LCD, water boiler, hot water and shower. Water pressure for the hot shower is superb - better than many of the 4 or 5 star hotels. Doors are also heavy and quite "sound proved" - making this one of the most quiet budget hotel rooms I have been to. Most budget hotels are not well noise insulated and gets noisy when people walks along the corridors or in/out of the rooms. Over here I did get to hear occasional sounds of doors cl... Read more

Found it perfect for the price. Good location, very clean, very friendly staff... New Hotel, so everything was in good condition. A recommendation if you look for an affordable place in Georgetown. Wifi in the evening a bit slow but worked. Would come again!!!

We booked the room without windows which is fine with us, as we spent most of time exploring the city. The problem is that the room really really dark when you turns of the light to sleep. PRO: The bed is good. The shower is strong. The location is perfect, close to Komtar (to get bus), close to Food Street (just across the road). The Front Desk is perfectly fine, especially the kind girl with glasses. CONS: Bathroom, the shower position is weird, so the water will splashed all way to bathroom... Read more

Located in good location, clean. Air-condition very cooling. But limited parking. With good security but a bit troublesome when want to go to different floor. And also only one card given which is very troublesome when one person want to stay in the room while another person to go out.

The price is very cheap and I was so afraid if the room would be very bad condition. However we were surprised! It's clean, simple and nice. Their maintenance is good so it looked quite new. It was a raining night when we reach but luckily they provide parkings with roof. So we escaped to get wet. I will definitely stay there for next visit!!

I stayed in this hotel around 1 years ago. My friend came to Penang to visit me and they book this hotel. At first, we wouldn't expected much as at that time the price is around RM100 per room per night. I gave only 4 stars as due to the parking lot issue. they have limited parking lot. As the hotel location is in the middle of the town area therefore during afternoon is hardly can find a parking though. As for the room, we weren't expecting much. But it really do gave me a good impression as i... Read more

The Heliconia Hotel was very clean and management was excellent. Room was small but nice and perfect place to base ourselves from. Only issue was its about a 20 minute walk into town/city centre. But good value so worth it. Wifi was good throughout hotel too.

Stayed 1 night in mid july. Minimalis budget hotel. suprisingly room is very clean n comfy. however, shower needs door or curtain. staff are helpful n friendly. very close to hawker center (lorong baru, i think). the only cons, no smoking in the entire hotel & you cant ask for extra key card. otherwise, considering the price n location, i give 8/10. ???

Pros: Located on a relatively quiet street so no busy traffic and room is quiet at night. Overall looks quite new and it's clean. Safe deposit box and kettle are provided. Limited parking space available with friendly parking attendant. Air conditioning is cold enough and shower pressure is good. Cons: Rooms are small. No space for big luggage, only small hanging space for clothes. No fridge and hairdryer. Shower not enclosed so whole bathroom will get wet. Bathroom can get flooded as drainage ... Read more

The hotel is located in a quiet and secured street. There is also a street food area nearby. Walking distance to the old town is acceptable. If you don't wanna walk, Uber or Grab is heaps around. The room is small yet clean. However in the toilet, there is no shade in the showering area, which makes the toilet wet all the time. Tip: If you travel by bus from the airport, get off the bus at Komtar station. It is closer to the hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights here and were happy with our stay. The female receptionist is really sweet and kind. Our room was modern and clean (except for a few stray hairs, which always seems to be the case in Malaysia!) The bed was comfy, there was a tv, a safe and two small water bottles provided daily. The shower was good, but does cause the bathroom to become very wet - common in Asia though, so didn't bother us. Wifi generally very fast - it dropped for a couple of hours but then was f... The room was modern and clean. The bathroom was also clean and the water pressure in the shower very good. Location isn't bad, a few hundred meters from the bus station. The receptionist was great, really friendly and helpful. Not sure about the cleaning staff, who tried to come into our room twice in one day. The first time I told them not to worry about doing the room, but then they came back at around 18:30, seemingly not expecting us to still be there. Maybe they really badly just wanted t... Read more

Excellent hotel, friendly staff from the receptionists, guards, cleaning crew and manager. Room has tv, water boiler, bottled water, hot shower, towels. Only issue was the shower has no door or curtains so the bathroom gets wet. They don't provide breakfast but it's Penang, food is aplenty. Very near to Komtar, Prangin mall, travel agents, bus stops and you can get hawker stalls food in the evening just across the road from the hotel or if you walk a bit there are several kopitiams. The hotel and the rooms are modern and spotlessly clean. Very private as there is a lift outside the building that takes you straight to your floor without having to always pass by recption. The rooms without windows are only suitable for a one night stay but rooms with a window are excellent for the price. I deduct a star only for the mattress which was very hard as is normal in Asia. I figure this is why massage therapists are such a huge business in Asia.

The best thing is the location, its just beside the Komtar tower and bus stations. So many famous food restaurant are nearby. Also its in the middle of Geroge Town. We stayed there for one night only, staffs were very good and the service also ok. Room is a bit tiny but okay for couple.

I stayed for 2 days in this hotel. The room was very comfortable with 24 hours receptionist. Very friendly hotel crew, tidy, and clean room. 2 bottles welcome drinks available everyday. Unfortunately this hotel isn't complete with FnB services. But don't worry, because the location of this hotel is really strategic, very close to many places to eat. Chinese foods, local foods, and Indian foods are everywhere.

The hotel is located just beside Hotel Sentral Georgetown. Nearby within walking distance is a food court just about 100 meters away and a nice Bak Kut Teh shop around the corner. About the hotel - parking available but in a 1st come 1st serve basis. Approx 10 cars only. Beyond that park beside the road at your own risk. Check in -RM 50 deposit. 1 key card. No extra. I booked a room with window and regretted it. The only view is the view of the opposite room window. I should have saved my R... Read more

We booked this hotel as it was in the center of George Town and reviews said it was a very peaceful place. It was exactly as described. We enjoyed the stay and local eat street is just a stone throw away. The small malls and shopping areas are also around. If you are a vegetarian, then there are some Indian shops very near and Dominos also serves a Veg Pizza. Over all a nice stay and very comfortable room. We found it to be very clean and the moment you entered it gave the feeling of freshness.

This hotel is half the price of my favourite and you can tell as it does not have the luxuries or extra touches. That said I would probably stay again as it is located near places to eat, not far from Times sq and Komtar and it was spotlessly clean. They also had a place to park the car, though this area is not large. Don't lose your deposit receipt as you need it for a quick check out. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of shower door- just a pane of glass which meant the floor got ve... Read more
