I recently stayed in one of the rooms with an attached bathroom. Although the cleanliness level in the room could be slightly better, it was relatively tidy and we had good beds to sleep in.The toilet is a little small and only towels and soap, and hairdryer are provided. Parking was off-site and a little inconvenient. We had to pay attendant at the parking lot and then bring the ticket back to the reception to be refunded the payment. Overall, for anyone looking for a budget stay with good loca... Read more

I stayed in double room and the other in family room, both were great. The hotel is clean, bright, even for the sharing bathroom is clean too. Also I enjoyed the free ride of the bicycles in the hotel. Just simply procedure and make my stay here feel different.

Chulia Heritage Hotel is located on Lebuh Chulia. It is within walking distance from some of the best eateries in Penang such as Tajuddin Hussein, Roti Canai Jalan Transfer, Line Clear, and Chowrasta Market. Entertainment and live music is within 10 minutes walk, including restaurants and pubs on Love Lane. The hotel staff were friendly. I wish they have prayer mats and Qibla indicator in the room. other than that, it is a lovely place.

Really had a good time there. The prices were simply too attractive to not select this superb looking place. Room upgrade, not many people. Staff quiet and yes not so smiling but helpful and willing to please you. No breakfast, which for me is ideal since I have only one meal a day in the evening... Vividly recommend this hidden gem!

Simple hotel just off a busy road. Lots of food options nearby, just around the corner from an amazing dim-sum breakfast shop. Clean and large rooms with nice shared facilities. Arrived much earlier than expected and receptionists were very accommodating. Would return.

One important note about this hotel -- it's semi-outdoor. The lobby opens up to the outdoors and all rooms open up to a semi-outdoor hallway. In a place with constant equatorial heat and humidity, this was a very bad design choice. I arrived at the hotel to check-in during the hottest part of the day. This made the 15-minute wait to check-in unbelievably unpleasant. There was only one staff member working at the desk. Although not a totally unpleasant individual he tried to overcharge by almos... Nice white and gold interior, only thing I didn't like was having to take off my shoes off each time I went up the stairs and share a bathroom but it was clean Room was small but clean enough, white sheets. Walls seem quite thin so can hear voices in adjoiningrooms. Recently refurbished though and once was quite a relic with history.

Need to improve: 1. Limited parking space 2. I was staying ground floor room which near the staircase. In mid night, i can heard the sound of people talking and laughing outside the room. Also, the wooden staircase causing the noisy stepping sound when people going up-stair. 3. No shampoo, shower gel provided. Good: 1. Location is good. Near the wall art street.

The hotel location is very good. Very near to famous landmarks and lots of food and drinks variety around the area. Everywhere is within walking distance. The hotel room is clean and the shared bathroom is also clean and user friendly. However, due to the structure of the hotel (ie wood panel floorboards, it is very noisy when people walk around). And in the triple sharing room, there is only one plug point which is definitely not enough for 3 pax. Other than that, good hotel, good location, ... Read more

Amazing heritage building. Nice and bright, well maintained, clean and friendly staff. This hotel is within a few minutes walk of everything including the market, many food outlets and the famous street art murals. The only problems we had was the fact that the door card access was not working for anyone's doors. This was ok though because the friendly staff was very happy to open the door for us any time of the day without hesitation and with a smile. This place is set back from the road... Read more

This is the right stay if you are looking for something in the middle of Georgetown! Everything is basically good, and they are doing good job on cleanliness (although the small side table it's a bit old, and some unremovable small stain on furniture)... It's pretty comfy thou! ^_^ One drawback, which it will be perfect if there's some air cooling electrical devices in the main hall/main entrance =) Located at chulia street (main street of the town), and it's popular for FOODs!! Yes, it'... Read more

Room: Deluxe Room (1 Queen bed), Ground floor 3 nights Like: Strategic Location at Lebuh Chulia. Free bicycles for guest Powerful aircon Car park available Dislike: Mosquitoes. Smacked 5 in the first 5 mins in the room. Small room size Awaken early every morning due to loud footsteps, moving furniture, running etc from 2nd floor and noises from corridor. Vibration of ceiling causes the glass panels of emergency lights vibrates and creates noise. Bright room at night as there are a row of gla... Read more

We went here because of the good review. The front desk was good. But at night we had mosquitoes. We stayed for 2 nights. The second night we had to shift room because the hotel staff said the need to do something with the toilet. I was asleep that time late afternoon and had to pack all our stuff and move to the next room and we did not like that. We heard people drilling when we were in the room sleeping. Dogs barking at night, and I can't get a good sleep. The water pressure was not strong fo... Read more

The hotel name sounds lovely, it is in a heritage building and it is centrally located however, these are the only positive things I have to say. The room was barely a hotel room and more like a hostel. Our room was apparently 'dulux', i dread to think what a basic room looks like. It felt dirty-the towels were grey, the sheets had were old and over washed, cheap furniture and within a few hours we had seen our first cockroach. Whoever designed the layout of the 'hotel' needs their head examinin... Read more

You can't beat the location, but no breakfasts and having to rely on staff to open our hotel room each time we came back because the lock was broken let this place down. Ideal for us was the parking right in the middle of Georgetown. Rooms clean enough and air conditioning very good.

Reception staff very friendly & helpful. The standard double room is small but has everything, the deluxe double room is huge. The beds very comfortable. The location is great, set back from the road, so no road noise, walking distance from shops, Little India, street art etc. Had to rely on staff opening one room as they couldn't update the key card system.

The room looked cosy and clean. However, the decoration on the wall was a lil bit scary. The room card system was not working, luckily the worker was at the lobby most of the time so they can open the door for us. The aircon was problematic as well. It was under service when we just reached, and it kept on and off in the midnight. It disturbed our sleep.
