I spent six nights here and was overall very impressed. Stayed on the 11th floor - both room and bathroom good spacious size. Only ate food for breakfast in the dining area - plenty of options for those wanting Western or Asian. Room cleaned every day, spacious pool area - small gy area (typical of most hotels). Great location adjacent to the major interest areas of Georgetown. Didn't get too excited about the rooftop bar - way too hot for me.

Just were in the Bayview hotel for a couple of days and we liked it. Pleasant people , helpful staff, good breakfast, nothing to complain. The rooms are spacious, clean, good beds, free wifi, we liked Our view from the room at bay and long bridge.

We stayed here for 20 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Located on the edge of the UNESCO heritage town of Georgetown, all the sites were within easy reach, or a short taxi or bus ride away. We found the room a great size with a lovely view and the internet was excellent. It was serviced well and fresh bottles of water were provided every day. We must admit the bed was a more on the firm side though. Breakfast had plenty of choice for all tastes, we would recommend the in house baked cro... Read more

Didn't stay here but visited the rooftop bar . 360 degree views which were better then from the top of Penang a hill in many respects.. watching the sunset and Penangs lights come on from a central location was great. Reasonable price during Is at Happy hour made it worth the visit

The rooms are outdated and my shower wouldn't even turn on so I had to wash my hair in the bathtub. I could hear that people very clearly talking in the room next door. It was ok in regards to cleanliness and the Wi-Fi was fine. The staff were friendly and the location was right near the famous Blue Mansion. I would not stay here again.

Stayed here twice. Friendly and quick check in. Reasonable location and you can walk to most places. Room service food a little average but ok. Rooftop bar offers great views. Tidy, clean rooms and would stay again.

Proper 80's carpets, furniture etc. Nice view from the (overpriced) Restaurant. If you are smoker do not take dedicated room. Windows do not open, room is small and stinks a lot. It was very hard to sleep, no fresh air. It's supposed to be a budget hotel but it's very high rated on the websites which we do not understand. Not a good value for the price we've paid.

The restaurant is located at the first floor. Went to the restaurant by using Groupon. The food taste good and the service from the staff is average. Not much of choice can be selected from the menu a la carte. I went there during Sunday dinner. You must be patient while waiting for your food. The waiting period is too long (only 4 tables) as man power is not enough. Please recruit more staff to serve customers.

It was a rushing decision in booking this hotel for business purposes during school holiday in Malaysia.I only stayed for 1 night. The pricing was alright since there was a promotion going on. I choose the Superior Room 2 Single bed. The room was quite spacious but also quite empty. It's quite old but overall still acceptable. The only thing which i find disappointing was the bathroom because the hand shower was not functioning well causing the bathroom a mess(water everywhere). I informed the h... Read more

Location is strategic to go tourist places or town area. But some drawback are, parking bay is small. There's 3 lift provided. But only 1 lift can access to parking. Meaning if you not taking the lift straight to parking, you need to change lift at the lobby. Room space is acceptable but has very strong smoking smell and washroom was old. May need to consider whether will be back again.

We stayed for a day on 17-18 June in Room 1428. The bathroom was awful to say the least. Nowhere in the world have I seen such am overflowing commode. Jet was broken. No soap on request!! This hotel has commission agents lurking around as bellboys. They will knock your door as soon as you thought you would rest a bit after check in. If you order food in your room be prepared to pay RIGHT then in cash, these guys are short of cash, no signing bills. I only wonder in which stone age they got all t... Read more

Visit from June 16th to 19th 2016 - The 'revolving restaurant' was great. The view amazing and service attendance excellent. Rooms were clean and well maintained, however heavy rains brought the rain water into the room thru a leak in the window making the carpet damp and smelly. Breakfast had a lot of variety but more Asian. Quality of cereal and sausages should be improved. Otherwise quite nice. The club downstairs was quite 'loud'. We were on the 10th floor.

Room is big, overall toilet and room are clean, however bathing area was a tad small, as it's a bathtub with shower, and even with the curtain drawn, water still flows out onto the floor, and it can get quite wet. Other then that, the overall stay at the hotel was great, staffs were friendly and could speak fluently in English. Hotel is 10-15 mins away from places of interest, like the museums and famous eateries stalls, most of the museums, cafe are clustered together around a specific area ... Read more

I have visited Georgetown on several occasions and this is my first stay at the Bayview. I had a standard twin room with nice views of the sea and the small park opposite the hotel entrance. The room itself was clean, basic and comfortable with free internet. I paid online and the only additional charge I had was the local tax that was 6 Ringgits ($1.5 US ). The staff were friendly, helpful and informative. Taxis were near by and with the hotel you will get rate before you leave to the airport ... Read more

A 4 star property at 3 star prices, and decent breakfast included. Rooms are modularly spacious and recently renovated. Adjacent to the heritage zone with views high views of the sea or city. Convenience to many eating places and bars. The 360 rooftop is great for sunset views or for late night drinks. Recurrent hotel with really decent people staffing the place. Also a good collection of restaurants inside the hotel.

The room was clean and nice. The corridor was very confusing as I need to make circle before I could reach the room. The hotel staff were ok. There are shop in walking distance. The breakfast was alright nothing to create the wow feeling, it was more of basic stuff.

We stayed at Bayview for 2 nights and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The hotel is located close to the centre of Georgetown. The service is very good and the rooms are clean and spacious. They offer a big variety of options for breakfast, including freshly made omelets, juices, etc. There is a rooftop bar&restaurant at the hotel we you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the town. If, I visit Georgetown again, I would definitely stay here!

This was my second stay here for 2 nights. My last stay was 2 years ago(and wasn't bad) and chose same place because of the hotel location . The hotel is old but the rooms are clean and spacious. Maybe because is old, the electrical wall outlets were quite inconvenient(at least the room i stayed). Since i was on business and working at computer, I needed plugs near the desk but there were mostly at the bottom of the wall. I was very upset with front desk night staffs rudeness. The shower wasn't... Read more

Reception staff were awesome upgrading us from a smoking room, which was all that was available when we booked, to a renovated non-smoking room. This hotel is a true four star and the rooms are huge, well laid out and functional. Location is perfect being in a quiet area near the sea but still within walking distance to the action areas of the old town, and the best hawker food centre in Penang, which is The Red Garden. My favourite thing about this hotel is the breakfast which has the most exte... Read more

We have booked and paid thru Agoda. However we need to wait nearly an hour during check in, to get a room. Room condition average. One power point near the table was in disorder. We noticed no dental kits in bath room. High possibility housekeeping miss to put the dental kits. And this is not acceptable as dental kits are important for room guess. The aircon sound was disturbing our sleep.

The smiles and committed very patient staffs at the front desk was enough to make one feel ur in for a good stay. Upgrading our room realising it was my wife's birthday was something else. Here comes the strange part of it breakfast closure at 10am was a little too early leaving most guests disappointed as standard timing has always been 10.30am. Hope the management would consider extending the breakfast time and not having guests leave the hotel feeling dissatisfied?

Pros: 1) Bayview Georgetown has very low priced rooms (about SGD$140 per night for Premier Grand Deluxe which we took) 2) The room is spacious 3) There is access to the Premier Lounge 4) The afternoon tea 5.00pm - 7.00pm at the Premier Lounge is decent, items fresher then 1885 across the road and service is better (it's with a smile). 5) IF you are looking to roam around George Town, this hotel is rather central. If not, it is still rather easy to catch a taxi. Cons: 1) Just because the room ... Read more
