I had a one night stay at the brand new HIE Kuala Lumpur. When I checked in, it was just opened a little more than a week ago. The hotel is located in the middle of the golden triangle in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, along Jalan Raja Chulan. The building is not a new one but was one that housed the Ing insurance company. The room I had was on the 19th floor facing the main road. It was very decent in size, long, rectangular room with a sofa and queen sized bed. Spacious overall and the configura... Read more

I've been staying at Intercon, Traders or Le Meridien because there wasn't a HI centrally located. When I was able to book this half a month, just after its opening on 1st Jun, at opening rates I jumped at it. At Jalan Raja Chulan, one could get to most parts of KL via the metro. It is also within walking distance from Bukit Bintang. Although the building was orignally an office block, the owner refurbished it to a top Express. At check-in, staff from valet to security to front desk were p... Read more

I have always been a loyal customer to the IHG hotels especially the Holiday Inn Express brand. I have been to many of the Holiday Inn Express in Asia and felt that those in China are at a lower quality than those in South East Asia. I'm very happy to see this hotel opened and enjoy the business trip as much as I did in Bangkok and Jakarta. Overall service is great and location is best. Although I did found it a bit noisy on Friday night when there are people trying to showcase their sports cars... Read more

We were very impressed initially with the price, the location, and the bed. We aren't fancy travelers, so a simple room was to our taste. Unfortunately, the hotel is located across from a few dance clubs. Although we took a room on one of the higher floors, the base beats were so loud that we actually could feel it vibrating the walls and window in our room. No amount of white noise maker, earplugs, playing music through headphones could drown it out. The staff said the club stays open until 4... Read more

I stayed in this hotel immediately after it opened and I can only say great things about it. The rooms are amazingly comfortable with a great bed and the best water pressure from any shower I have experienced in a hotel. Upon entering the hotel's front door I found I had to get to the 1st Floor where the reception is located. Those with heavy luggage will be pleased to know that there are airport-style luggage trolleys here that could fit into the lift, and you could then use the trolley all the way to your room after that! The hotel is fairly new, and definitely had a more modern appearance. Notably, the room came with a mini fridge and mini safe. Wifi is also available free of charge, but you have to log in w... Located in the heart of KL, Bukit Bintang. The hotel is near to Raja Chulan Monorail Station. Walking distance to Pavilion Mall. Covered pedestrian walkway. The room was new, clean and tidy but small. Bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast served was limited in choices but they were okay. Price was reasonable for what you get.

Didn??t expect much when I booked the hotel, but it blew my mind when I got here. The location is amazing. It is close to everything I can think of. Nightlife, restaurants, shopping malls are all within walking distance from the hotel. The room isn??t extremely big but it??s comfy and cozy. The staff is spectacular and very accommodating to my needs. It would have been a perfect stay if the noise level from outside is slightly lower.

Stayed in room 1921 for one night. The room is compact but had everything you would need for a short business stay. A comfortable queen sized bed with soft and firm pillows, coffee and tea making facilities including Moccona coffee sachets (a nice upgrade compared to the usual sachets of Nescafe in other places) and a fantastic value for a hotel in its class in a strategic location near Bukit Bintang. We stayed here for two nights. The staff were friendly when we checked in. The room was compact with great air-conditioning which was a relief as malaysia was so freaking hot. New hotel in an old building, cheerful colours and upbeat interiors with comfortable bedding. The interiors looked fresh and makes the hotel feels new despite the fact that it is in an old building. However, there is a VERY SERIOUS design flaw. How can you put the safety box (with swinging door when its ajar) on top of the minibar fridge right at the level of guest's head?? this is a certainly unacceptable and I am very shocked that the Management did not see this coming? This hotel deserves a five stars rating. The room rate was incredibly cheap for the location (KL city centre) and quality of the room and service was great. As a petite woman, I really appreciated it when the security guards at the entrance helped me moved my luggage from the taxi to the trolley. Room was smaller than I thought, but it was functional and comfortable. High recommend it!

Location is great, just 2 minutes to the Raja Chulan monorail station. Attractions and malls are close-by, but being a tightly packed super urbanized city, it is often convenient to take a taxi. Head down to opposite side road "Jalan Nagasari" besides the Istana Hotel, to find lots of local restaurants.

Staff are friendly. The lobby in level 1 not ground floor but there are some restaurant and café at the ground floor. The bed is a queen size bed and I bring baby along with us therefore the bed are quite small. I go with my husband and the staff tell me there is a crib for baby. I don??t know they got such service and I really want the crib. The moment I reach to my room which in 10th floor, I realized the room is quite small and suitable for 2 persons only. Check-in desk is on the 1st floor, not ground floor. Location is super convenient, very close to Pavilion Mall, restaurants, and bars. There's also many cafes downstairs for a quick bite. The rooms are newly remodeled and clean. We had a queen size bed, pull out sofa bed, desk and the room was still very spacious! The complimentary breakfast was great and the staff are always friendly. Wifi here is one of the best hotel wifis I've experienced. Highly Recommended! You will have a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is close to all the attractions we wanted to see downtown. We were able to walk to the Petronas Towers. Everything else was a very affordable taxi ride. There is a nearby metro station. We did not try to ride the metro. There is a complimentary breakfast each morning. We at at the hotel each morning.

As expected, the room was clean and tidy when I arrived. Concierge could be better if they checked in customers faster, but it wasn't horrible. The best part about this hotel is the location! Walking distance to Changkat and very conveniently located to everything else. I think that the location alone is already worth the price. Highly recommend!

Reception staff was friendly and check in was a breeze! They even have 2 vending machines at the lobby. Breakfast was ok just simple breakfast. Check out was also fast and quick. Location wise it's probably just 15-20mins walk to Pavillion and the Bukit Bintang area. Cab ride was just RM10/- to RM12/- depending on tra... Read more

My second stay at HIE after London few years back. This KL branch the room really small and I don't personally like the room layout with a mirror facing the bed and some oversize wood artifact that makes the room even smaller and defeat the minimalist concept. Aircond somehow hard to adjust with the thermostat seems like not responding well. Food was ok, especially since it's included, although the pastry/ croissant quality can be improved or better to remove it (it's just cold and flat). Bring ... Read more

We find this hotel to be quite nice, despite the fact being an 'express'. The rooms were spacious enough for 2 people. We took connecting rooms since we had kids with us. One was a double bed room and the other was a twin bedded room. The double bed room had a sofa bed, which would be suitable for a family of 2 adults and 1 child. The twin bedded room however had a single seater sofa instead. So if you have a single child, be sure to request for a double-bed room with a sofa bed. Important!: be... Read more

I liked everything except how they charged me for this stay. I decided to pay with a credit card and they have initially blocked 1000RM from my credit card for my stay which is ~25% more of the actual amount. I have agreed on this with an explanation that I might spend some money in a Hotel bar. But two days before my checkout, without my approval, they have blocked another amount (on top of 1000RM) of ~780RM which was the actual cost of stay, and this has not been agreed and approved from my si... The hotel is excellent located in the so-called ??golden triangle?? of KL; it is close to everywhere and within walking distance to Petronas Towers, Pavillon shopping mall, Bukit Bintang district, etc. We stayed there for 3 nights and got a really small room (most probably the smallest one we ever got in a HIE and we have to been to quite a lot in Europe, Asia and USA) in the 20th floor (the premise has 20 floors).
