Friendly helpful staff Great pool but not many sunbeds. Great food and tasting menu Nice treats on turn down service. Only issue is pool is open to anyone on low occupancy, which may lead to residence not getting a sunbed. Need to review policy.

We stayed here for 3 days and I'm delighted to say we got the choice absolutely right: It's located about a 5 minute walk to the old town and similar to the river. Although it's on a main road you don't hear any noise, even lounging around the pool. The hotel itself is rightly described as boutique and consists of the main building which has the restaurant/bar and swimming pool are neatly "brought" into the building and a separate garden wing (where we stayed), although we felt very much part o... This is a special hotel set in a beautiful garden and stunning pool. The whole property has a lovely scent that pervades throughout. Only a five minute walk to the centre but very quiet. Bicycles are provided at no charge. The rooms are well appointed with lovely details; nightly turn down service, little biscuits and insect repellent. The outstanding feature is the staff and service. Always welcoming, ready to help and very friendly. My standout staff member, and head of reception, was Ot ... Read more

A very nice place to stay with super helpful and friendly staff. The hotel has historical significance and presents well for a four star hotel. The town and night markets are only a short 400m walk away. Rooms are clean, albeit smaller than we expected, but the pool and dining area offer great relaxation space and were never overcrowded. Breakfasts are well prepared and offer a broad choice. Above all, the staff are lovely and made sure our stay was something special, which we appreciated very m... Read more

Wonderful and very helpful staff who kindly arranged excursions and hailed tuk tuks for us very efficiently, nice breakfast (loved the coconut pancakes and housemade tamarind jam especially!), lovely decor, quiet atmosphere, proximity to Night Market and other attractions. Only minuses were that the Internet (wifi) was not working on the first day of our stay. Also the room service menu could also have more options, especially for kids (e.g. pasta, macaroni & cheese, etc.)

The landscaping of the hotel is very beautiful even at night when lanterns are placed along the walkways. Rooms aren't very large but is comfortable enough for two persons. Loved the color scheme of the room which is in white and orange. Non alcoholic drinks in the minibar is complementary which is great after a hot day out in town. During the turndown service, an aromatic incense will be lit filling the room with a nice smell. Breakfast was okay. Love the Laotian coconut pancake and the soup ... Read more

I've been there with group of friends. Been taken care by hotel staffs and Hotel Manager, what a privilege!!! They are helpful and always come up with suggestion a ton of activities what we should not miss when we were there in Luangprabang. The bike ride is one of our most enjoyable activities, being like a teenager one more time. Don't miss to visit Temples and night market, lots of things to see and for souvenirs. Make sure you have enough space in your suitcases for these handy crafts and gi... Read more

Very nice property in the old town of Luang Prabang with an eye for the detail. All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The pool and pool service was needed after a day in the heat of the town. Rooms have a decent size and are clean and comfortable. Complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar and free bikes are a nice addition to the service. Very close to all points worth visiting I'm Luang Prabang. Great breakfast buffet. The staff are friendly and attentive, The breakfast buffet is a treat with helpful and knowledgeable staff on hand. The gardens are lovely with interesting objects and a decent swimming pool. All this and conveniently located near temples, shops, the night market and restaurants.

The compound of the hotel is large, leafy and with colonial charm. The former residence of a laotian prince a century ago, this historical residence is well maintained and equipped with modern amenities. As the hotel is a member of the multinational angsana/ banyan tree group, service and management can be more impersonal than other establishments. The town center, national palace and night market are only five minutes by walk Breakfast was adequate and atmosphere was again quite charming. D... Read more

We really liked the period ambience of the hotel which was complemented by the friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. All in all we had a very relaxing 4 night stay. We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant but enjoyed our breakfasts. A very minor point is that our garden room felt a little compact but we would definitely stay here again if we revisited Luang Prabang.

Located at the south of the night market, about 15 minutes walk to Mount Phou Si and the shopping street. Very nice and friendly staff. Excellent food. Try the ‚??Prince Lao Dinner‚?? with 10 Laotian dishes. Many typical Laotian meals on the menu. Free bicycles for guests. Rooms are clean and have the usual features for a hotel of this category. Bathroom is very small. Some drinks in the minibar are free. When we return to Luang Prabang (I'm sure we will), we'll stay in the Maison Souvannaphoum ... Read more

This is a very comfortable, laid-back hotel with wonderful staff and facilities. The pool is small but absolutely let's one cool down after a hot and dusty day of sightseeing. Breakfast buffet is delicious and the little coconut pancakes addictive. Have to stress that all of the staff are wonderful - caring, polite and attentive. Perfect location just off the main road in LP and just a hop skip and jump to the market. Don't hesitate to stay here!

The former guest residence of the Laotian Prince, the Maison is a nicely appointed, small hotel. The pool and restaurant are very nice, with lots of character and warmth. The Wifi works, and the rooms are nice. The staff is very attentive and polite. They serve customers very well. Overall a nice hotel within a very short walk of the night market and town center.

From check in to check out every staff member was lovely. The house ( a former residence of a Laotian Prince ) is an oasis away from the sightseeing, and even though I had expected it to be an old restored building it was in fact built in the early 1970's. Nevertheless , it had that lovely old world Colonial feel with the requisite lazy fan and good cocktail menu. A short 15 minute walk to the centre of town , and we made the most of the free bikes and went everywhere. They kindly let us use th... Read more

What a lovely hotel. Beautifully manicured grounds, attentive staff, and a great room. We even had our own balcony overlooking the gardens which was appreciated after a day of exploring. Staff lay out your towel for you at the pool, plus we were given complimentary 15 minute massages, iced water and fruit everytime we were there. This kind of service is hard to come by. A 5 minute walk along the Main Street takes you to the heart of the action in Luang Prabang. Make sure you visit the amazing... Read more

The staff were wonderful, friendly and attentive. We were very happy with our room, the breakfast and service. It is also situated right next door to the large temple from which all the monks come out in procession each morning to receive their food so a great photo opportunity. The only negatives would be that the large tiles around the swimming pool are loose and we were told we weren't allowed to dry our swimming suits on our balcony. We were told that it spoils the view for other guests! Thi... Read more

We have stayed at many hotels in many different countries and although it is quite old it is kept very well and one of our favourites, the gardens and surrounds are beautiful and very well maintained. All of the staff are absolutely amazing and would come up for a chat or ask how was your day. My friend and I stayed in Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel for 3 nights. We felt like home throughout the whole stay. Not only the caring and attentive services by all staff members, the environment of the hotel is very beautiful and elegant, feel like in the French conlonial time. The Angsana Spa is just too good to be true, perhaps the best - quiet and relaxing setting, therapist (Daola) is attentive and the massage helped me to relief all the tiredness. Thank you the whole team! =)

The hotel is close to night market and takes about 7 mins by foot. The hotel is very colonial with a lush and well manicured garden. If it weren't for the vehicles that ply the main road, the ambience is very zen like. The room I occupied overlooked the garden and pool and had a balcony. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast decent. Bounleung I think is a senior staff who went out his way to make my stay memorable.
